Here's some details about the safety car feature in the game for you:

- Yes you have control behind the SC but there'll be some restrictions. More details once everything is concrete.

- Safety Car is available in races 20% or over

- Can be turned off if you don't want it.

- No you cannot drive it

- It is available online

- You keep the same camera when the SC is out.

What idiot asked if you could drive it?

Funny quote from this article.

"Furthermore, initial tester’s were concerned that when in ‘Team Lotus’ mode the car emitted a horrid, constant whining noise. Close examination of the sound map revealed that this was in fact Jarno Trulli, having a massive moan. A ‘Disable Complainer’ option has been added which sees the Italian driver replaced by a cheerful Indian who never complains about anything.

Now that is realistic."

Glad they've introduced the safety car, sealed the deal for me! Can not wait! :D

Hoping that it wont turn like Nascar 2011, where all those dirty drivers try to crash to the leading cars, to get a yellow flag and that the safety car comes out...Hoping this wont happen in F1 2011 :indiff:

Well it's optional so hopefully we can see from the lobby menu if they have it enabled or not. Plus it's only 20% and over that it can be enabled for, most dirty drivers quit on lap 1 anyways.

There's a brand new stunning trailer here. Quite a few real life recreations, but this is my favourite:

Very cool trailer indeed.

Here a screener from the Vita version. Bit meh if you ask me. But I will try it out hopefully tomorrow on Gamescom.

Oh wow that trailer is sick! đź‘Ť đź‘Ť

I saw that they were using yellow ringed tires, is that a new compound they are using in the actual F1 series this year, or last year?

Yellow is the soft tyre. You can see what all the colours mean here.

Okay ... I could have done without reading that ...

What's the matter, all day so far in this thread, you've had a bitter attitude. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Also, your name is Jason? I'll have to write that down.

Thanks for the link đź‘Ť đź‘Ť F1 2010 is really my only venue of knowledge of the F1 world besides what I read on ESPN  It's neat that Codemasters is introducing more tire compounds to F1 2011 đź‘Ť

edit: just saw the above post. Thanks dude đź‘Ť

Thanks for posting the trailer ! :)

Looking good so far, graphics look a little better than before too! Really buzzing for this game with all the new rules, plus the trailer confirms the inclusion of safety car ;)

2010 was a great single player experience and I am hoping these guys can deliver the same again :D

I wonder if the real-life scenes are an in-game feature, or is it just to show off the game?

I imagine they were just recreated in the game to show off what you can do ;)

Although, if we are lucky, they might include some sort of scenario mode where you can recreate moments from the season! Which would be awesome :)

That new trailer is very cool, doing a good job of getting me pumped for this game.

I had zero interest in the Vita. Until I saw that. But I still can't pay $250 for it. And maybe if you try it you can say otherwise, but I can't see how I could put in respectable lap times with it. I'm not really a handheld person though.

I could see that being in a couple years or something. Maybe if they could license some retro vehicles/tracks, then have a big game mode like Madden Moments did, where you have to recreate OR alter what really happened. So you might have to "finish" Button's win in Canada or maybe you stay as Vettel and change history and have to win the race in the last 3 or 4 laps. Of course this could go back years and years too if they wanted. I bet they've considered something like it, but figured that time was better spent at polishing the game, and I would agree with that. But if they have the time and money to do something like that in a year or two, it would be quite cool.

The guy said he was "horny" for the game. Which is a very disturbing adjective to use.

That's not correct, I said I was 🤬 for the SC.

Back on topic, I think the most important "new" feature of F1 2011 might be the opportunity to touch curbs without spinning, in F1 2010 it was a nightmare.

Oh and I'm glad they finally noticed F1 drivers move their fingers while paddle shifting.

Anyway the game looks decent so far.

All the same, it's a disturbing adjective to use.

Ok, you won't believe me but you're talking with a 50 year old guy here. Listen mate, it's time for you to show a little bit of respect for others in the forum, you do not own the place and what's more it will pay off, you'll get what you're not giving, yes, "respect", and you'll feel way better, you can be sure of that.

Meanwhile, switching to ignore mode as far as you're concerned. Have a good day. ;)

All the more reason why describing yourself as "horny" when referring to a video game is a disturbing adjective. I might have expected it from a teenager, but not someone who is more than twice my age.

Again, you used sexual imagery to describe your reactions to a video game. I'm sorry, but I can't respect that.
