Last year one thing bothered me alot when watching the replays - the cars hovering around the track.

I was really hoping it to be fixed in F1 2011 but looking at this pic Im beggining to doubt it.

Is it so hard to make the cars look like they are actualy touching the ground????

That's a very troubling pic

(Ok so this only happens in replays then?! That I can live with. Re-Reading FTW)

It happened in 2010 to, the thing with the pic is it only happens for a split second, its a deliberately timed screen cap.

Getting really excited about this now. Pretty much the main criticism/reservation every single preview i've read of it is that it could be too hard for a newcomer. This is good news, for sure.

I said it on the Codemasters forum, that this isn't exactly unrealistic. The first corner at Interlagos has quite a lot of elevation change, and pretty often, the cars do 3 wheel there. It may be slightly exaggerated, but it's not all that wrong.

Uhm, no actual replays vids so far, not at all encouraging.

And a guy reviewing a preview code in the codies forum said we have AI going slower and faster than it should be in different sectors of the tracks, AGAIN, as in F1 2010, which was so damn annoying...

This has been a problem since racing games ever existed - I don't see why it's kicked up so much fuss specifically for this F1 series.

C'mon Peter, you know that has nothing to do with elevation changes. You can actually see the shadows underneath some of the wheels which are hovering off the ground, and this problem was pretty constant in F1 2010 and it looks like they never resolved it properly, at least not in this build.

An F1 car is rarely ever on 3 wheels, the stiffness of the suspension rarely allows for such motion. Its only when the suspension is too stiff and when in a very tight, cambered corner that a wheel will lift - as we regularly saw the 2009 McLaren do, but never the amount seen in that screenshot. Not to mention nearly every car in that shot is doing it at different points on the race track.

Obviously its a graphical error.

I have not seen in an videos I have watched, but do we know if the steering is actually more than 180 degrees this time?

Very likely not. Formula 1 wheels only go a little past 180 degrees, so having them go past that would be unrealistic.

I actually hadn't seen this video for some reason lol And in multiple shots you can see it go beyond 180 :) Thank you for response though

I remember watching the 2006 Brazilian GP, and a lot of cars were 3 wheeling into turn 1. It happens more than you think, trust me. Obviously not nearly to the extent there in that picture, but maybe, just maybe.

No, not "maybe". It is a graphical error - there is no doubt here.

I did say 3-wheeling does sometimes happen to F1 cars, but not very often. It certainly wouldn't happen to so many cars at the same time, to such a degree and on such varying parts of race track. There is no doubt that its a graphics bug, not some error in physics or whatever.

Well you will be glad to know its not in the final build as has been confirmed over at the forums.

I would not worry about this image as it was of a very early build of the game and they corrected it awhile back. :)

Anyone know if the research and design bug has gone.

Whilst testing in free Practise, if you saved and come back to Practise two the R&D has just vanished.

Thanks if anyone knows this.
