No I didn't try that. Tomorrow morning I will though. Thanks for the suggestion and also thanks for the friend request. I will get the wheel dialed in, no doubt about that.

Yeah I know my problem today is that I am an impatient person lol. Tomorrow morning I will set all steering settings at 0% and go from there, or maybe tonight lol. Wanna get my F1 on lol.

I'm not sure about the 5-year limit rumor in career mode for this year. You don't get an option when you start a career, it just launches you into it.

Not a rumour unfortunatly, a bona fide fact, was discussing it over at Codies forums earlier today.

Its because the teams level up as it were, and they struggle to balance it correctly for more than 5 seasons. It wasn't right on 7 last year apparently but they say now there should be a good balance it should translate to longer careers in future games.

I want 7 WDC's dammit :grumpy:

As long as it's possible to stay with a top team this year...I couldn't stay with Red Bull. Nor Ferrari. Nor McLaren. Yet, I've always won over 90% of the races, achieved over 95% of the objectives and got both the WDC and WCC.

Really? Im with RB on my 3rd season and just got a new contract offer from RB.. wierd lol.

I've gone from Virgin (they wanted to keep after getting the WDC, obviously) to Red Bull to Ferrari and McLaren...just finished the 4th season a few days ago and there's no point to start another one in 2010 but I "had" to sign with Red Bull again since it's been the only offer apart from Virgin. They still like me and I did respect them on the track for it. :P

Do they actually take it into account if you stay out whilst being called in for a pit-stop? Or if you're corner cutting every now and then? Bumping into anyone?

Ahh nice one! I started with toro rosso, won wdc.
Then sauber bmw, won wdc and wcc.
Now red bull, got over 100 point lead going into spa lol.
Even on legend, the ai are usless. Cant wait for 2011!!

OMG after literally 4 hours of messing with this game I cannot get the dfgt to feel like it does in F1 2010. Too much deadzone in the wheel even though the steering deadzone is at 0% :/

I haven't even begun to adjust the throttle and brake settings because I'm still messing with the steering :/

I've went from 100% everything to 0% everything and all that in between. Nothing feels right. So disappointed right now....

The ffb is basically down to nothing once you move the wheel 25% right or left. It's very annoying and disappointing because F1 2010 felt just right to me. I even put the F1 2010 wheel settings into the game and it was horrible.

If anybody has what they feel is a good steering setting for the dfgt in F1 2011 please share it.

Yeah that doesn't help me at all. I'd rather use a controller than use the wheel if it's going to feel like this...or trade the game back in lol.

The g27 felt pretty bad at first, but I increased the wheel weight to 70 I think and it helped alot, made it alot less twitchy. Also, no pit limiter or pit in buttons? Kinda disappointed. But oh well. Great game otherwise.

Did some time attacks and a couple of short GP's to get a feel for the new handling and try to get my Fanatec GT2 set up the way I like it. Getting closer with the wheel, will try the weight tomorrow.

Overall, I'm impressed with the game. The feel is good, you can oversteer and recover, but you get more warning of when it happens. I'm thinking throttle control is going to be much much more important with 2011.

The visuals are very nice too, although a lot of my cues are changed now.

When under heavy braking, you can lock em up, and know when/as it happens, very obvious.

I love the new stats too, well done on there!

Will give it a better run through tomorrow night.

So far 👍

P.S. Shaggy, playing with manual transmission :scared:

Frame rate dropped a couple of times while leaving Melbourne pits in Grand Prix mode practice.... that is all I have had time to try; still fiddli'n with my G25 wheel settings.

If you don't care, post your GT2 settings when you get a good one. I haven't messed to much with mine and would like to try yours if you don't mind.

I'm also running a gt2

my settings if anyone wants to try:
sen 180
FF 60
sho 0
drift off
abs 75
lin 0
dea 0
spr 1
dpr 1

only other adjustment made was to increase the in game wheel weight to 70

Alright, so these are my first impressions of the game after about 2 hours of play. I'm using a G25 wheel and on the ps3. I have the wheel settings at default and it doesn't feel too bad really. Might play with them a bit, but I'm having too much fun at this point.

The graphics on the ps3 are ok. Nothing really good or terrible about them. Didn't buy the game for the graphics anyway.

AI is tough and smart/crafty. I played a 20% race at Melbourne with Alonso and they are fast. Settings were expert difficulty and no assists. I was in 4th place up until the pit stop and got held up about 5 seconds in the pits.:grumpy: Came out in 9th and that was my final finishing position. So, I'm not going to make the assumption just yet, but maybe the pit issues are still there. Using KERS and DRS is alot of fun and adds some great strategy to how you want to run each lap depending on the situation you're in.

Here's the meat of what this game is about, the physics. I personally love them. The car reacts how you would expect a F1 car to react. They are twitchy and the different teams cars all seem to handle quite differently. Nice touch. Kerbs can literally be attacked pretty hard. There is a point though when too much kerb will upset the car. The cars are great on new tires, but once they start to wear down the car will start sliding a bit if pushed too hard. With that said, I love how the tires feel when they start going away. There is no greater feeling than catching an F1 car with rear end hanging out on you.👍 I think the physics are way beyond last years edition and keeps putting a smile on my face every time I catch the car. I did however spin out a few times in practice. One was slow speed and the other at near full throttle. So its not like you're going to catch it everytime, but the physics allow that split second to correct it. Throttle control vs. steering input is very important this year. Mashing the throttle and throwing the car around carelessly is long gone. Haven't tried any assists and don't believe I will. No assists is definitely where its at.

Did a time trial at Melbourne in the McLaren. Lots of fun pushing the car to the limits and experimenting with the DRS and KERS throughout each lap. I ran about 10 laps and currently ranked 7th, but I'm the highest ranked with no assists.:dopey:

A few things to this year is no pit in or pit limiter option.:indiff: Liked these two features for the fact the driver could make mistakes on pit lane. We get a few less options for race length and believe 5 year career. No big deal really.

Haven't had a safety car or any weather races yet. Heck, I've only raced on Melbourne. Like I said, just my first impressions after a few hours. Definitely a big step forward from 2010. Love it.👍👍
