I've found even with the pad you can get a nuance with the game whereby you're being very smooth and precise one turn and then if you feel like it, hammer the car into the next. That's what I like about it. To me, GT has never really let you cut loose in the same way and expects precision every time, although how many modern cars require that delicacy at all times?

I can tell you we will be driving one of these in FM3:

I like the new suspensions physics 👍

My goodness GT5 looks bland and unrealistic in that video, suspension and weight transfer, what are they?

I can't believe people are arguing that Forza 3 controls input for the pad to keep the car steady, when GT is the king of it. Perfect lock for every corner with full left-right on the pad, sure, just get the speed right!

That car reminds me back in the good old days when I first got GT1. The 67' Corvette Sting Ray 427 Coupe. If I remember correctly, it had the most BHP in the Arcade Mode range of cars. I'll add this as a link to GT1's Hi-Fi mode with that car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcCu0W7nC8c. It has got music on the video so be warned.

Here is a list of GT5 Arcade cars, surely it would be good to choose one that is also in FM3.

Do you have any tracks in mind. This should be fun.

Though Forza's graphics still look a bit cartoonish.

And Forza still looks Cartoonish. Not saying I'm not still going to buy the special edition and play it often, but it's just how it looks.

I always thought Forza 3 looked cartoonish too, but Forza 4 looks more like Shift 2 to me, which, given it uses the same world lighting method, makes sense. And certainly isn't cartoonish. I also found that Shift 2 doesn't look as good in screenshots as it does driving around the track :)

I don't want to restrict this to GT5 Arcade cars. I'd rather just match as much as we could through each game's whole list of cars and I'd highly like to keep the options to be premium. That way a person will have access to all views on all cars than have to be forced to race with hood view if they haven't in a long time or ever. I personally don't, or rather, didn't drive standards unless there was no other option. I'm pretty sure we can find cars that don't cost an arm and a leg that we can all afford.

Besides we can give some lead time so that way people can get the cars. Infact we can even help each other out as some people may have a ton of credits in one game and very few in another , those people could trade between them. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

All cars are open as of now with matching cars on both sides (as close as possible) also we'll do two "feature" car races on both consoles. Two cars that best represent both games that doesn't necessarily have to be on the other console.

EDIT: I forgot that you can't freely drive any car in GT5 online. I was talking before as if people wanted to put custom liveries on their car with the option of driving the car free online. Ok , GT5 people try to make sure you have a little cash ready in case you have to buy it

It all depends on if we are going to do races or time trials. If we are going to do time trials then it would be better to use Arcade mode as all cars are Premium, you don't have variance in oil changes and engine break-in time then. It is more a pure competition then and it get rids of any use of the ridiculous slipstreaming if we do actual races. You don't have to buy the car as well, just drive your best. I can't remember if you can change setup, but if you can't then it is a bonus as it is even more equal for all. Arcade mode in Forza 3 would be good to as you get access to the cars then without having to buy them. More of a convenience and also fairer on everyone.

We wouldn't have to do Free Play in Forza 3 because anyone can use any car online whether they own the car or not. You just wouldn't be able to customize the car. We'll work it all out in the end. You should check to see if we can lock settings online like "no upgrades" and "stock only" in GT5.

I though that video was FM3. Until it hit me it's no tg track in FM3 that video does not do FM4 justice. @ da bomber those 2 hundred are more detailed than the 500 hundred though.

I can understand people saying that FM3 looks cartoonish, because the lighting engine usually creates very vibrant and bright colours and (in my opinion) the reflections look a bit 'flat' to me, so to speak; they're lacking the perceiption of deapth I get from real ones on a real car.
From the pictures I've seen, though, FM4 doesn't seem to do either of that:

I know, it's not an in-race picture, put I think it's decent to get my point across.

That's why I'd like to ask what appears to be cartoonish about the game to you?

And, please, not the usual "something looks off", "there's something wrong with it", "it somehow doesn't look quite right" stuff...

Who'd be willing to forgoe 300 cars to get modelled stitiching in the interior, though?
I know I'd rather slap Dan across the face if he decided to do that

Because it is. Remember there are over 500 cars with this quality not 200. Is it really going to kill you that the stitches look drawn or the interior has no window.

Yeah but a previous photo of FM4 with a Koennisegg had 3D Stitching, that just looks bad.

But it seems that photo was not released by Turn 10.
It could be a old photo (the HUD is not the same as in videos/pics from E3) and there are improvements in the final version.

Exactly because they have less cars to go through and detail.
Another reason I like the forza series is the fun that you can do such as this.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/top-gear-forza-motorsport/718176

Looks like a lot of fun. But similar to what Dirt 3 did with gymkhana mode; most points would probably come from getting the car sideways, drifting. Still, it looks like fun. I can't wait to see what new customization features are added.

We don't know for sure if those photos are indeed in-game screenshots, if they are from a recent build, or if they are just concept art (see FM4 topic).

I think you can if we add each other as friends and use the share car option. So we are actually doing races or time trials? What about time trials at first and then races after?

I'de rather have a Koenigsegg with strange stitching that none at all pun intended (...enter name here..)
Lambo Avenntador is confirmed!:)👍

The autovista mode lookes great but that's a whole different mode that doesn't feature all 500 cars and those graphics don't carry over to the gamplay. The video I saw looked like fm3 I will still get fm4 but that video did not do any justice to the game. Do you know how many cars will be featured in autovista mode?
