How De Vries is keeping up with the other midlfielders is amazing. Granted he's running on softs, but still.

Hamilton reporting his Mediums are not great after just 17 laps... there's no way Leclerc can do a 1-stop from here.

At least, however, he can go back onto Softs if he stops again around Lap 40 or so, while Verstappen will likely be on used Mediums for the latter stages of the race.

Either way, Leclerc arguably needs a VSC/SC, which is ironic since the VSC is likely what's put him in the position of needing a VSC...

If I'm Mercedes, I'm thinking about pitting Russell relatively soon to get an optimistic undercut on Verstappen.

It's probably a decent time to put Russell on mediums and have him set for the rest of the race.

edit: Close enough - they go for the hards.

De Vries is in 13th on Mediums while everyone around him is on Hards - including the two ahead of him.

If he finishes 11th, he will put Latifi down to 21st in a 20-car championship.

Edit: 12th now with Alonso's oh-no. Actually 9th is on the cards for De Vries...

I'd probably rank him 22nd. Hulkenburg on foot might be faster.

Pit stop for Leclerc. He is gonna have to drive the crap out of those softs to catch up. This is gonna be spicyyyy
