How tough is it to win A-spec formula championship with Racing Hards and TCS, ABS, and all the rest of the aids off? Do you need to drive perfectly?

I did it on Friday with jorday setup won the first 4 races and then did not finish the last 2 as they were wet and did not want to spend 50 mins on each track. I won the championship by 75 points, You just need to practice the tracks and try to stay off the curbs and grass it can be done also try to get into first place before the first corner at monanco and the nurburgring on the ring the AI spin on the last cur-cane which helps keep you in the lead just keep trying.

dunno if this threads dead but i started with the fgt.i started with ss's link on first page, changed a little bit.cars not perfect but i know wot it does.ive got a G25 wheel/pedals nd these make it unreal fun.ive got the wheel on me desk so its not ideal.i tried to sit like f1 driver, makes it better but hard.once your off that brake, throttle progression is needed, but bloody fast but smooth.i set my hands up like an f1 driver too.i watch f1 alot and my hands were doin the same.did suzuka 1000 with fgt, best lap 1.31.2??
car was well bent tho.nose looked like it had been hit by mike tyson whewn hes had a few.as some-1 sais earlier,tc=1,option under that ON,abs=1.and have fun.

Hi Jorday just used your original tune and smoked every single FGT race on B spec (with a little guidance at Cote d Azur!) Thanks

Best moment was at Monza, I saw it was raining and the AI runners all started on slicks whereas I put wets on and got a lap headstart!

Thanks Jorday - I'm a novice and not a very good driver compared with others on this site, but even for someone like me your tune made a big difference - i went from being lapped with the standard settings to getting an 8th almost a 6th in the first race and from being lapped twice at Monaco to just lapped once!

I am finding the comments on this thread about the last two races in the rain including Suzuka odd because(I am obviously not a good driver, but) with the car on default settings and hard race tyres I golded those two easily. With the default settings I get lapped at the other tracks.

With Jordays settings I don't get lapped and although I'm not going to gold any of the dry races at least I am now in the game and racing wheras before it was a lonely 20 lap slog with the AI drivers out of sight.

One thing about GT5 - in a real race if you are a lap or two laps behind the race ends, but in GT5 you have to keep going until the end which means dodging the dawdling AI cars on their slow down lap.

I can't have my tras to 249, but I have it on 250. But then it is so slow, so everybody is overtaking me... what to do? help please, I have struggled with this for a loooooong time.....

249 is in mph. I believe you're running your game in kph. Do a conversion and you'll be one zipping by the other cars.

I Credit SS_1182 ' s post on Page 8, for sharing this winning tune, with my G25 wheel:

Aero: 70/90
LSD: 12/25/15
Height: -5/0
Spr: 13.7/14.8
Ext: 6/8
Com: 5/7
Roll: 5/6
Cam: -2.7/-1.5
Toe: -0.30/-0.10
Brakes: 4/1

I left TCS @ 4, and ABS @ 1, everything else off, won each event (after 5 days of practice on each track first)

Oh, and I also raised the LSD to 16/45/45, because There are numerous dangerous corners that are best left to take, with throttle off, than on. (just compress through them, aka, Fuji last uphill corner prior straight)

I also used this tune for the Suzuka 172lap Endurance , *good*-lap time avg 1:36, best lap 1:33.25, many bad laps due to roadrage AI in the way @1:45. The S turns can be taken in 5th gear low rev, at205km/hr holding through the turns, with front tires red, but holding! (keeping fuel around 50% mark), change tires every 8 laps, takes last high speed bend at full 7 th gear 315km/hr with a split second throttle taunt release.

I am in the same place I hope this thread is not dead lol. I just need the formula championship to beat extreme level on a-spec lol I only use my ps3 controller I beat the first race I changed a few things I been lazy about racing FGT hehehe I was starting to get bored of the game but I found out new life after racing that championship I only changed the downforce all the way down hehehe and something about the slip recovery all the way to 8 hehehe the car is very manageble, but my tires were wearing down by the end of the race I did get gold but seems like I had to battle for first if i messed up or slowed too much. I will try the settings posted on here I hope I do better Thank you very much for all your hard work in getting this settings for all of us I can't wait!

5:30:953 at Nurburgring with a spin somewhere. No aids except ABS.Fun with the steering wheel.

OK, I am on my second account but wanted to try someone else's settings, I am using the one from the first page for B spec. At the end of lap 5 I am in first place, now easy on the commands so the competition will not push so hard.

What a race on monaco!!! Crash on first chicane and last! Then I worked myself up to 2nd till lap 13 and again a crash set me back to 12th... and I worked myself back to 1st on lap 18, when I hit the wall before the end of the track, what throw me back to 5th... In the last 2 laps I could again catch them and finished on the first place with 0.4 sec lead!!! YEAHH

I drive this car and therefore this championship the first time now and it is very fun! No big tuning on the car needed, but aids on... what to win if finally to get my ticket...

Recently finished the Formula GT championship

Here are my settings

Chassis Reinforcement
Aerodynamics F70 R90
Ballast 50kg @ -35 position (for a 50/50 weight distribution) <-- this is important!
Transmission Final Gear 4.000 Top speed 380km/h (you may want to adjust top speed for each course)
LSD Initial 50 Accel 60 Brake 10
Suspension:
Ride Height F-10 R-10
Spring Rate F17.5 R17.0
Damper Ext F7 R7
Damper Comp F6 R6
Anti Roll Bar F7 R7
Camber F-3.2 R-2.0
Toe Angle F-0.15 R-0.20
Brake Balance F4 R1
Tires were Racing Soft (even for rain lol)

I used Auto transmission, TCS at 1 and ABS at 1. Done on a DS3 because my friend borrowed my DFGT. Had problems with Monaco (Didn't realize the course was so narrow, kept crashing) but passed the other courses with Gold. If you still have problems you may want to turn Active Steering to Mild.

Ok no offense to any of your setups but im having major problems. cant even get past fuji! They accelerate too fast and catch up in no time! Even on the straightaway! Im going like 230 and they still come up next to me. Im getting so annoyed. Please help! There a certain way to setup the gears??

Also the car cant turn for crap.
Default- it spins out
Your setup- doesnt understeer enough. I cant make any turns w/o going way out. And when i brake for those turns the competition catches up quick. You said you pulled away in the first lap and won by alot and i go through 5 laps and have to quit :P

Here's an update. I went through the Formula GT championship again last night using the first tune I posted this thread with the following results:

Fuji - 1st place
Destroyed the CPU cars. The car in second place was probably a half lap behind by the time it was over.

Indy road course - 1st place
Basically the same result as Fuji. The front will bounce a little bit on this track.

Cote d'Azur - 1st place
Adjust transmission gearing to 199 or 205. With 199, you touch the rev limiter in one spot. You must be precise on this track with any tune, and bumps into the wall can be devastating. If you get the exits of the turns, the car will charge out of the corners leaving the other cars behind.

Nurburgring GP/F 1st place
The car still bounces in a couple of turns here, but the problem can be virtually eliminated by choosing a different line through the turns where this issue occurs. Mistakes on this course are costly and end with you being WAY in the sand. By the end of the race I had lapped about half of the other cars.

Monza - 1st place
I thought the car was easy to control on this track. No bouncing. Choose lines carefully and you can get on the throttle MUCH earlier than it seems at first.

Suzuka - 1st place
This was the only race where the other cars were even close to me by the end. I crashed in the sand several times and was passed by multiple cars each time it happened. On this track I was able to carry HUGE amounts of speed through the medium speed turns that I could overtake multiple cars in this section.

Thanks for your feedback. Try the second tune I posted if you have time. :)

Ok these is weird but on nurburgring, monza(raining) and suzuka i had huge leads. On monza i lapped them, (wouldve lapped twice on monza but i kept tryin to make the guy who had second place standings get last, i succeeded). I used soft on monza and medium on suzuka. Got 1st place using ur setup man, ily!! I did it with the stock hp too! 800 and sumthin. Ima redo monte becuz i wasnt using ur setup but ill go bak after.. Thx man

Make sure you have fresh oil, I also had a engine rebuild just before this race, because i had been grinding for 10k miles on endurance races with this car.

Also my B-spec driver is Level 27, so if your a lower level, it might take you a little longer to get first, but the car setup is perfect for you. Give your best driver a break for a few races unitl his status is a blue upward arrow before using him for this race.

Race 1

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 4
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - 5
Rear Ride Height - 5
Transmission/ Top Speed - 261MPH
Spring Rate Front - 17.5
Spring Rate Rear - 17.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

You will gain most of your positions towards the end of the straight, while maintaining a solid pace through the bends. It should take you about 4-8 laps to take first place.

Race 2

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 4
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - 5
Rear Ride Height - 5
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 17.5
Spring Rate Rear - 17.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Again you will gain most of your positions towards the end of the straight, while maintaining a solid pace through the bends. You will hit the rev limit just before the end of the straight. It should take you about 4-8 laps to take first place.

Race 3

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 7
Rear Breaks - 2
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 199MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Wow, this one is a ball ache, but with such a low gear ratio you will overtake on the short straights and through the tight corners. I had 3rd on lap 2, but first place didnt come till i was on lap 7 but then run away with it for the rest of the race. I also upped the breaks for this race. Twice in testing, the AI spun out and caused a pile up, which can be a bit of a nightmare to come back from, but its still possible.

Race 4

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 7
Rear Breaks - 2
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 236MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

This one is childs play. I used the same setup as race 3 but upped the top speed. I pushed my guy too hard on lap 1 and he spun off 3 times. but he took first again before the end of lap 2. Simples

Race 5

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 3
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Another easy race, you can have first place within 2 laps, there are loads of good straights to take places on this race.

Race 6

Front Downforce - 70
Rear Downforce - 90
Front Breaks - 3
Rear Breaks - 1
Front Ride Height - -10
Rear Ride Height - -10
Transmission/ Top Speed - 249MPH
Spring Rate Front - 18.5
Spring Rate Rear - 18.5
Extension Dampers Front - 8
Extension Dampers Rear - 8
Compression Dampers Front - 6
Compression Dampers Rear - 6

Exact same setup as before, you will push your way to the front in no time at all.

A good tip, at the start of each, as soon as you start, when the clock starts to count you in 3,2,1 - Tell your driver to increase pace and he will get a good clean start, which is essential for this series of races.

Good luck, show some love for my work and leave some rep.
This setup is amazing, bob had lapped everyone at least once in each race.

Finally beat the FGT series with your setup. Worked Great for me. I quit this series several months ago. I couldn't win enough to finish all tracks. I beat all races individual with other settings. This one seemed to be dream, even Monaco which surprised me. I'm not sure if I used the ballast setting (I'll have to go back and check) but this tune was great.
Thank You

Cote was a huge struggle for me, my hands were so tired that I lost it on the 13th lap and never recovered.
I came in 4th, losing be almost 17 seconds :(
Saved and exited, I'll finish it tomorrow

Jorday how would you match it to the latest 750pp TT - where you need to add at least 160kg and almost none downforce, to keep the PP number to 750 ..

I really would like to see your approach to a setup for this special event ..

ThnX in advance M8

Thanks for the tune Jorday!!! This was my first time doing the FormulaGT championship and it won it for me.
Fuji-1st
Indy-1st
Cote-11th, I musta missed something on this track, couldn't catch them for nothing
Nurburgring-1st
Monza-1st
Suzuka-9th, kept making stupid mistakes after lap 17
Overall pretty good, race soft tyres, driving line- off, traction control 5, skid off, active steer off, ASM off, abs-1

Ty for the Tune OP

Japanese GP @ Fuji:
1st
Best Lap: 1:17.602
took the lead on final lap, in that chicane after the backstretch. had this race Med race tires.

United States GP @ Indy Road Course:
1st
Best Lap: 1:10.005
took the lead on L2, and then never looked back, margin of victory was 4,6 secs to P2.
switched to race softs for this, and altered gearing a bit.

Monaco GP @ Cote d'Azur:
DNF :(
Best Lap :1:15.689
No way I gona winn this one.

German GP @ Nürburgring GP
1st
Best Lap: 1:31.984
a fun race this one, took lead on Lap 3, and build up a lead of aprox 10 or so secs, then on final Lap a spin they nearly got me still mamaged to win this one with 1,9 secs

Italian GP @ Autodromo Monza
1st
Best Lap: 1:21.196
awsum Race for real Speed freaks even easier than Indy I think, but The AIs are quite fast won by 6,5 sec in the end.

Pacific GP @ Suzuka Circuit
12th
Best Lap: 1:31.096
I thrown away the championchip in this last event duh. finished the championchip with 400 pts in 2nd place overall

i just raced with those settings and i want to say:

thank you :)

it worked VERY nice , but not on every race.

first race: ACED after 30 sec in position 12 (a mistake and the others FGT will OWN you in no time) but those settings really make things easier.

second race: you have to drive almost perfect , the settings worked very well, but DON'T push your luck , just keep driving , you will win anyway.

third race: i was 1st for almost 11 laps, then a mistake, and could NEVER return to the pole, finished 7th (if you low the MPH you will win, just adjust before race to max acceleration after curves) finished first with other settings later

4th race: worked just PERFECT for the ring, i finished 1st after a BAD crash and again 30 seconds behind , finished in a perfect comeback like fangio.

5th race: even with the rain pit stop TWICE from the AI's , couldnt reach max speed and they eventually left me behind. retired after a bad crash.

6th race: same , 1 rain pit stop from the ai, and couldnt reach good speed to make a dent, even with perfect driving, one mistake (eventually will happen..) a bad sand trap, and that's it... retired.

even with all that, i WIN the FGT championship!!!!!!!!!!

so then i re-raced the lost tracks and won it just changing the max MPH

3rd race: low the mph to max acceleration
5th race: raise to 249 mph, you need the max speed.
6th race: the same.

awesome steering and braking with your settings.

thank you

here is a slightly different version to try if you like. i actually made this one first, but for me i felt the first one posted was better.

downforce 70/90
diff 20/35/30
transmission 249
ride height -5/0
spring rate 17.0/17.5
damper ext 8/8
damper comp 7/7
anti roll bars 7/7
camber -2.5/-1.5
toe -0.25/-0.15
brake 4/1

this tune just made my life so much happier! i know its almost 3 years later but i just have to thank you jorday! I am much happier with how the race is coming out, more faster and have more turning power than before! The only time they catch up to me sometimes is on a straight away and they drafting behind me but other than that its excellent!

I quite liked the settings of the first one, but i was racing on Spa-Francorchamps and it really doesn't seem to work on the first corner, so i made one that's a bit more of what i like, it's a bit more agressive but i think it oversteers less...~

LSD:
15
20
15
Suspension:
Ride height: -5/0
Spring Rate 15.5/16.9
Damper Ext 5/5
Damper Comp 10/10
Anti Roll 5/7
Camber 3.0/0.0
toe 0.35/0.15
brakes 4/1

This is just slight modifications but in 1 lap you fastly get this setup and for people with no patience to control this car, i would say it is not very recommended but you can give it a try :)

I am a person who races online every week and consistently comes in last or next to it, so I'm not the best racer in the world.

That should just emphasize how good is Jorday's tune from the post that started this thread: with that tune I was able to gold every race in the Formula Gran Turismo event. Not all in one go; I made enough mistakes to take me out of first place in a couple of races in the championship. But I did win the series.

Thanks Jorday!
