The only downside to the x2 credit bonus is that we're going to be swimming in money when the update the game...
Just buy a few expensive cars or crates. "Problem" solved.

Not to mention when the auction house goes live and painters start putting up cars with exclusive liveries, that money will probably start evaporating in a hurry.Just buy a few expensive cars or crates. "Problem" solved.
If the sounds on some cars really are as bad as they appear to be, what do you think the reason is? T10 have become lazy and don't give a shhh...? Game rushed for the release date? A bit of both? I gotta admit the first negative signs were
1) VIP car pack. Always had new to the series cars in the past and not these ridiculous FE cars. That was pure unadulterated "we don't give a 🤬" stuff.
2) A tiny handful of new to the series cars. I count Alfa 158, Renault R.S. '17, Toyota Baja Truck, Toyota Eagle Mk III and Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Oh, Chevy Fleetline and Dodge Demon. Excluding the updated years for the race cars.
No sign of the Abarth 124, Kia Stinger or Colorado ZR2 we saw in the Car Collection video. Which means that T10 have clearly modelled these cars but are holding them back as Dlc.

Just got the nsx too.The priciest crates are exactly the same amount of credits as the priciest mod packs were in FM6 (300k), and that hardly ever put a dent in the amount of money I had.
I just did a 30 lap race around VIR that took right around an hour to complete. Excluding the AI bonus and the mod bonus, it gave me 140,000CR. Adding the AI bonus brings you to a maximum 280,000CR, and with the upcoming change to VIP rewards that'll end up being a total of 420,000CR. Assuming once the update lands they don't take away your VIP mod cards and that you still have some left and use 3 of them, that's another 420,000CR for a total of 840,000CR... The only difference is that the wheelspins are gone and that the level up bonuses are a lot less generous, but still, within a few months I expect most of us will have so much money we won't know what to do with it.
Can't wait to see 700 versions of the same Fast and Furious R34s and Evos and S15s everywhere. I wish most of these "legendary" painters could show creativity... most of them just copy-paste the same design to every car they can and watch the money roll in. Except our pal @PJTierney of course , he's a good dude and his work is second to none. 👍

Anyone else also received an NSX FE from T10 on top of the Camaro, Jag and Maserati?
Homologation: I’ve had some good Multiplayer battles because of it, but part of me just wants to build up a B-Class Honda S2000 like I used to, and use that against everyone instead.
VIP: Incase anyone missed the news that went out this morning:

Horizon 3 went even further, letting any restriction aside and just matching the A.I's PI to yours, even letting you modify the event entirely. Heck! Even letting you chose your opponents.
Which are what exactly? The general consensus here seems to be that nobody sees any need to spend real world currency on the game, and the game is throwing cars/money at you the instant you decide to do more than 5 laps. The game feels incredibly uninspired, unfinished/untested and it definitely screams of being rushed. Evidence of this is how the game has the exact same glitches and performance issues as Horizon 3 at launch. They didn't even bothered to test it? Didn't they learn from experience? I am definitely new to Forza (switched only three years ago), having started with 3, not long after with 4, then buying an Xbone for Forza 6 exclusively and lastly Horizon 3. These games are so great that I had a slight fear that it was really impossible to do something better. With Forza 7, all I can think is that decided to do something different in fear of being accused of putting out the same thing every time. But this new game simply didn't work over the proven formula. What is worst is that it makes all those "cash-grabbing" features more obvious.
There's nothing flawed about it; Gran Turismo worked this way for years forcing you to grind races or do difficult challenges to unlock every car. I didn't once see any complaints about it in my decade-plus time here until GT6 & that was due to the lack of uninspiring career. The end result is just a convoluted mess. That is honestly how it feels. You play this game for the first time and there is really nothing new or ground-breaking other than the better graphics, driver gear and all those banal features like loot crates. At it's core (career), it is just a very watered-down experience compared to older Forza's. Sure there are new cars, but most of them are hidden behind the new "car collecting" system. Though an interesting concept, it is very flawed. And even a bunch of old cars are impossible to reach at first, being locked away by tiers, or being random prizes from loot crates.
Whilst I have not tested it, this may be possible given you have the option to "Install Stock Parts" at the tuning screen before a race. For me, the biggest offender here is the new super-restrictive career. A new word that I have learned to hate... "Homologate." There was absolutely no reason why they would chose to go this path, when in other Forzas you had absolute freedom. Forza 3 had the "No restrictions" option after completing the main career. That expanded the replay value so much. Forza 4 and 6 had the option to run your car despite it didn't meet the requirement, as long as it didn't exceed the PI. Horizon 3 went even further, letting any restriction aside and just matching the A.I's PI to yours, even letting you modify the event entirely. Heck! Even letting you chose your opponents.
The gross exaggeration of this is ridiculous, and makes it hard to take this rant seriously.Honestly, I don't think T10 cared about the core features of the game, or the quality. They just grabbed everything they could from previous games, quickly added a few cars, tracks, bumped everything to 4K and they just flat-out focused on rigging the game for microtransactions. Killing the essence of what VIP had been for the past decade is the most blatant evidence of this. Honestly? this game feels like a freemium phone app...
Oh boy... I got carried away there. Rant over.
I've had this complaint since probably Forza 4 (or any game that does it really), but it somehow seems worse in 7. I get the realism, but why bring a real life annoyance to a videogame? If not turn it off completely at least make it less distracting.Does anyone else that uses cockpit view, find yourselves getting distracted by the reflections of the stuff in your car on the windshield? It's worse on some cars than others, but some of the cars I find it distracting. I wish I could turn that off somehow.
I couldn't agree more. I was hoping they would carry that over from FH3 and I was disappointed to find in FM7 that it's so restrictive. I pick a car I want to drive, maybe do some mods, and suddenly it's out of homolgation restrictions. And I believe this is why Horizon 3 is so much better than Motorsports now. The freedom to take whatever car you want and the game tailors the event around you and not gaming you into upgrading it, is refreshing.
I’m running another Underdog Achievement session tonight, come join: https://www.trueachievements.com/gamingsession.aspx?gamingsessionid=702231
such as?What is worst is that it makes all those "cash-grabbing" features more obvious
I’ll be hosting or joining sessions until I get the Achievement. Thanks to the amazing Daytona Glitch, I now have almost every car manufacturer and track driver suit, which are the only ones I really care about. Oddly, I didn't get the Mitsubishi and Hockenheimring gear and I can't get them now because the game offers me mods instead.
Will you be hosting this on the weekends? That's really the only time I'll have a chance to participate.
A number of cars are still hidden in Prize Crates but we should have enough CR to buy them on the Auction House nowSo with the VIP back to how it should be, I'm essentially going to get a 200% credit bonus after each race.. what was that about economy and microtransactions?
I'll be netting about 100-120k for every 15 minute race. I'm also starting to put up some tunes as well, so I doubt I'll be low on funds any time soon.A number of cars are still hidden in Prize Crates but we should have enough CR to buy them on the Auction House now

Fair enough, they probably couldn't make it an option to turn on or off (or more or less noticeable). I suppose my complaint is that the reflections are not opaque enough and they're noticeable and distracting. Windshield reflections are not something you notice in real life, you sorta just look through them, but in FM7 it seems they can actually block your view in some cases, making it tough to see.Because if they didn't there'd be at least 12 different topics on the official forums complaining about the lack of windshield reflections, and if they packed every single option people ask in the game, it'd likely weight about 300 GB (and I am only half joking, adding different levels of reflection for the windshield alone could well be a multi-GB option depending on how the game handles reflection mapping).
Apparently, the demo is not anything to go by on that car, as I've heard it's been fixed for the full game. As it sits, the car drives very well and was quite fun.If that demo is anything to go by then you should never buy a Porsche 911 GT2 or if you do you must swap the tyres immediately because it can’t even negotiate slight highway curves at 80mph without either plowing into the wall or the rear of the car sliding out massively.
It was a race with rain/wet track, I don't think it would have handled better in that scenario.Likewise the SuperGT GTR handled worse than the CWTS truck on the Nurburgring GP course and had a bizarre tendency to drive nothing like a high downforce car but instead like a street car with very grippy tyres. Odd since even the older games in the series had a decent representation of the speed-downforce relationship.
Driving in general this time around seems better. Tendency toward oversteer has been reduced, and the cars seem adequately grippy. Only have a handful of cars so far, but I've been enjoying it.I mean it’s still fun but having been away from the series since FM5 it just doesn’t seem the same as it once did :-(
On the topic of homologation, I think I'm actually one of the few that seems to like it. I like more structured races that make sense instead of having a Jeep Willys beat a Lamborghini and such nonsense. But I can understand that tuners don't like it and it removes a lot of freedom.
