Most of your claims are beyond false. Poly as a company spends many resources to compete with other games such as forza. Poly not only is aware and involved in what others are doing they have now brought considerable amount of money and time ( if you havnt noticed that already ) just to keep up with the competitors and their advantages against poly. To say poly ignores the press and other companies is utter crap and doesnt even make sence business wise either. Ever since GT4 came out poly ,as a company as a whole, had to radically change its strategy to their game development in the global market. I would keep explaining some of the other arguments that are false but I think everyone on here knows the correct answer anyways.
Well, seeing as we're both speculating here and stating our opinions, I don't think I'm stating "false claims" just different opinions to yours.
The world of gaming and especially ONLINE changed so much. That way is not going to work this time.
I played and think quantity killed the quality in GT4. The old system of races was no more motivating for me and after 65% I just drove RUF on Nürburgring for some fun, nothing more.
GIVING? They sold it to us for almost full price and now they have full pockets of money for development! You are talking about Polyphony like a dutiful child about its parents.
I don't see why PD have to look at other games companies ideas in order to make a good online system, do you have to copy other people's work to pass a test of creativity well?
You didn't like GT4? Well I suppose you do indeed have something to be worried about, because I can only guess PD are going to keep heading the same direction, it is a highly successful one after all.
If we have to be pedantic, yes, they sold us the game, but I don't see how that changes my argument. They allowed sold us something to play for a bit while we wait, would you have rather them just ignore us and not tell or show us anything? I was originally arguing against the idea that "PD aren't telling/showing us enough" which is a bit unfair seeing as they sold us a fully-playable game at half price.
I still don't think PD needs to worry about the competition much, I know myself and others have played GT5

more than a lot of other fully finished games, although this is down to the online mode more than anything else, even if it is flawed and unfinished. Judging by the sales figures (and the sales figures only counted disc sales, not downloads!) PD certainly don't have much to worry about at all beyond continuing to do what they are doing.
And yes, I will admit I'm a GT-fan and will defend its failings, I have no shame in doing so, its a damn good game series.
