Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

I think GT6 will definately come out for the PS3, either as a GT6 Prologue or as a full GT6 with the PS4 getting GT7. A GT6 Prologue is not likely though as GT6 is supposed to be a polished up and improved GT5, not a full rebuild from the ground up. I expect GT7 to be the next full GT game built from scratch to take advantage of the PS4's power. There has simply not been enough time for PD to build GT from scratch since GT5 was completed. I'm putting my money on GT6 for the PS3.

Even if it came to the PS4, that doesn't mean they'd have to start from scratch you know.
 
PS4 would be best for maxium potential for GT6. But a mass majority say it will ruin DriversClub sales and say there are many PS3 users. It takes time to get there so why don't they just release GT6 and see the PS4 sell like hotcakes with that potential game changer system.

It's different. I kind of like it myself - Joe-Aid's link, but the text should all be dark to show up well against a light background. Having a track instead of a car would be different... and actually, I like the one above this post, just fixed up a bit to be more like what we're used to.

Well now, we don't really know squat about what system GT6 is coming out on. That "polished up and improved GT5" is our speculation, based on GT6 coming out for PS3, and being released after "just" three years.

I will have to say though that the game structure could be a huge jump over what we had in GT5. Graphics and physics could possibly be too, if PD manages to cull Cell resources and condense them where they make the most impact. A good damage build would be a huge improvement in and of itself, so would a Livery Editor and Race Mod for all or most of the cars, along with a range of bodykits allowing us to create "semi-pro" race cars out of our sports car stable. I'm hoping that the Course Maker is improved. I'm sure that a lot of us here are keen to know if online has been brought into the 21st Century the way even the most basic shooter provides online tools for server creating and game playing. An Event Maker which works either as an online game, club and league builder tool, or offline so we can make as many events as we want. And sounds, always a hot topic here.

But the most wide open item for improvement is the overall game design. How it relates to real life racing, what racing leagues are involved, what real world tracks, how we progress through the game, and if there's anything like a realistic ladder through the various levels of racing, as there is in GT Academy. This has very little to do with system specs, and everything to do with the vision Kaz and the team have for their next racing opus.

There have been the merest tidbits about GT6 leaking out to indicate that it should make us very happy, and I'm quietly hopeful that this is the case, no matter what system it's released on.
 
I would like that as cover art but I really doubt it would be. I imagine marketing and licensing would require a specific manufacturer to be on the cover.

I kinda like this cover a lot. It has that GT2 feeling if you think about it. I really hope the offcial cover would be something like this one. lol. :)

PS3 - Project Cars

PS4 - Drive Club//Project Cars.

NextBox - Forza 5/Project Cars

Although I wanted GT6 on PS4 (which I'm pre ordering) I'm starting to think GT6 might be PS3, having 3 major racers on a new platform will eat into sales of the individual games esp when 2 of them are 1st party studios.

I see both sides of the argument as GT6 will sell PS4's but PS3 has the instal base.

I will be jealous of next gen Forza already being out but I should be able to mange with Drive Club//Project Cars!

If this is the case I think GT7 won't be to far down the line on PS4 2 years after launch maybe?

Exciting times tho. :D

Yeah sorry mate, I meant GT7 on PS4 - it was early when I wrote that haha!

I wonder if GT6 is PS3 they'll add something to your PSN account so if you then get GT7 it gives you some kind of bonus?

I just say that as will PS4 owners get GT6 if its PS3 only? It's doubtful but I guess it dependson when DC/PC are out.
 
Just out of curiosity, how early do retailers get info on released games? If it's at least half a year in advance, then it would be possible they may have some info.

There's an argument that GT6 was never officially announced, but there's also an argument that it sort of has with Kaz mentioning it during the end of GT5's dev cycle. Sony even quoted that statement when asked for clarification (according to IGN at least).

Basically, a 2013 release doesn't seem OUT of this world.

Don't forget that the PS3 was released late 2006 and GT5 only came out late 2010, that's FOUR years later. So the fact that the PS4 could be sold for a few years without a Gran Turismo title is quite possible and won't stop people from buying a PS4. If anything it's a good strategy because when the PS4 has been out for a while and sales have died down a bit, a small price drop and GT7 will make sales increase again!

So GT5 was supposed to be out just over a year after GT4 with all the added features that were planned? Riiight... GT3-GT4 was still a good 4 years...
