Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Well, guys, I think GT6 is coming and its defintely going to be PS3. But on another note, happy 15th Anniversary Gran Turismo!

I think the entire video is real footage. Only ghost cars are included. The rest is HQ filming and good angles.

Is weird that people can´t tell the difference between what is real and what not. Real is always more defined and at the same time more imperfect while looking at details.
The "effects" that you may see are just added by the lens of the cameras. As simple as that.

my words.. exactly

Or it's a concept of a new concept, thing is, they know these trailers are scrutinized to the bone and every other vehicle is instantly recognizable.
So why include this odd car nobody seems to recognize?

I'm increasingly starting to suspect this car doesn't exist at all, making it a fantasy car.
But why include a rather 'mundane' but oddly shaped fantasy supercar in the first trailer for months, possibly announcing GT6?
Especially when fantasy cars in the GT-series have almost always been of the kind which weren't available as real cars or due to licensing issues.

See where I'm getting at? What if this is just an example of a fantasy car, using our own fantasy?
User created content anyone? Unless someone can actually find it does exist which so far hasn't been done.

Like Amar commented on NeoGAF, if you think about what SegaGT did in the past, including a car creator ingame where you could develop your own cars using different parts, engines, etc... it worked quite well in SegaGT! Of course, it's just a comment and pure speculation based on "why the hell this car is there?". They have tons of car models and the other cars shown were actual licensed models. So, why?

Unfortunately I couldn't find any kind of footage of how it worked on SegaGT but if anyone played that game, will know.

What about chase cam or third person view cam? I still have to see that visual in real life, I think the video is a mix of real life footage and some GT6, ghost Skyline can't be real come on. and That Premium Saleen S7 that is GT6 footage ledies and gentlemen.

My best guess is that this will likely be for GT Academy 2013 which may include Silverstone as the final track for qualification times to get to the Regional finals like Motegi was last year.

I'm prepared to be proven wrong if this turns out to be for GT6, but until then, I'm staying off the hype train until I see the game on store shelves for whichever console it is announced for.

The video has a GT 1-2-3-4-5 counting and after that the symbol _ blinking...
Go buy your ticket :)

Only the cars are digital, all the scenery except perhaps that opening still shot, is real-life. I don't think that's a premium Saleen either, I think the cars are supposed to be from the game that their number plate refers to (in that case GT3).

The chase cam parts are done with a truck or elevated camera, and clearly a few of those shots are sped up too.

This was completely filmed on Silverstone. There are no ingame szenes. Just some standard cars found their way into their footage.

I think that not even the next gen could create these graphics to match the real thing. And the PS3 is far far away from it.

We have to wait and see.

Are you guys saying there is no real game footage completely sure about it?

For you.

For many others the screen tearing and wildly variable frame rate are both issues and I personally would be quite happy with a res drop to 720 if it allowed a locked frame rate and v-sync.

Well yes I should have added that but as you speak for "many others" if we're being correct then I'll say "For me" and an indeterminate number of others. ;)

Personally I've never experienced the screen tearing and frame rate issues. Don't know if it's due to my screen, ps3 temperature etc but those issues just don't seem noticeable to me. I'm a professional videographer and certainly do notice 720 games after playing GT5. A step down in quality isn't something I'd look forward to. I sit fairly close to a large 1080 screen so definition (to me) is really noticeable.

Anyway, what would be good is if the game had options for graphical quality. Gt5 can be played in 720 can't it? We just need the option to turn other stuff up or down like shadows etc. That way we might all get what we want.

Well I explain to you:

Those ghost cars are of course from the game, they have the circuit in whatever version of GT (GT5 or GT6) and they just cut the ghosts laps and include it in the real film from the real life lap.

The third person view cam can be achieved in two forms...using the views from each car and editing them in some way at the time they included the ghosts.
And also there is only one time that the Nissan GT-R (the real one) has the camera from behind...and the only way is by having other car following. When he is passing the car then turns in other direction and the camera is not following it as it could be in the game.

It is clearly real footage, the only things added (and repeating it again) are the ghost cars.

Wait, does anybody know the shedule for GT-academy 2013?? They probably held it under GT5, right?

So, in my eyes, GT6 just dont fit in the plan of GT-academy this year.

More hyped for Forza 5 then this. With Forza 5 we will see the next generation. With this, we will see GT5 XXL

I saw on discrepancy in this video, is there is a R34 GT-R with a GT1 licence plate an I know for a fact there were no R34 in GT1 at all.

It makes perfect sense that it is Gran Turismo 6 - The blinking underscore after GT5 simply must be for 6. However, the shrouded car image on EU PlayStation Blog is called 'GT Academy'. Part of me does not want to believe we will see GT6 as I would be crushed if we don't.

I am seriously excited to see what happens. I am dreaming of seeing Silverstone with the Toyota TS030-HYBRID and Audi R18 e-tron quattro!

To me it fits perfectly: GT Academy May/June based on the GT6-engine and then GT6 full in autumn. Both for PS3.

Exactly what I think too!

GT Academy 2013 standalone game, just like last year. But based on GT6. Then, GT6 in the end of this year.

Joy of joys!

The other day at ISI forums from rFactor 2 some people thought this picture was real as well and no. Of course there is not too much to see...but you can tell it isn´t real.

Also my 2 favourite racing games/simulators are going to have it...that is really cool.

Those ingame cars smell like Vita to me...

I'm quite sure, we'll see GT6 coming to Vita, too. Sony is currently pushing cross platform games and GT6 would push PS Vita sales figures up the same way it will push PS4 sales in a year or two.

Absolutely. There's no better way to create hype and interest than GT Academy and giving the developers some more months time to finish GT6.

... but look at the quality of the tree in the background on left when as he is going to pass the GT1 car, and the sharpness of the road texture and the kinda detailed grass 💡

Well done. Recognized it as in-game graphics, but did not notice the level of detail on the tree. Great. There's also the sunset which feels like in-game graphics to me.

Fair point, just I don't know if GT6 should be a PS3 game. My only hope is what Kaz said about the will to utilize the newest hardware they got.

omnibusse, just a quick tip, friend: you can reply to each member, quoting their answers in one single post. :)

Also with the ending showing GT1-5 do you think they could release a GT HD with all of them on?

Interesting interpretation! They could and it would be different to what we hope for, but it could be nice. Hoping for GT6 though.

Thanks for the tip. I did not plan out to make all those separate replies, but as the thread evolved, I discovered some quotes I wanted to answer on.

I think, it will be: There have been two full GTs for each platform yet and Sony needs sales. They sold GT5 to about 9-10 millions of customers. Many of them would buy a GT6, too. It would take pretty long to get so many people on PS4, especially PS4 is probably not going to be released outside of Japan & USA this year. So PS4 for most people might be at least a year away. I'd like to spend that time waiting by playing GT6. Then give us a GT6+/GT7/GT7 Prologue on PS4 end of next year and we're fine. Until then DriveClub will do the job for the racing early adopters.
