Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

He's saying a livery editor is only associated with street and underground racing, which is quite ridiculous.

I agree... Livery editor is fantastic for the whole car enthusiast community in general, as Gran Turismo is a Driving Simulator (not only racing), you could do thousands of stuff with it. The first thing I would do is to transform my RUFs into Porsche replicas. :) (GT3RS anyone?)

Yeah, I mean, who would want to be able and turn pretty much every car in the game into a racing car? That would be extremely opposed to the game being a racing simulator.

As is all of this closed course nonsens, and competing against other cars, right?

Editor would be awesome. The game is a huge mix of cars and race styles so I don't see why making it more personal would be a issue.

Would you guys agree that if we add the ability to add stripes, decals and numbers that would be a big step in the right direction and would be good enough to satisfy most of us if there is not a full blown livery editor?

It would be more than we have ever had in GT and would allow quite a few options.

I also believe that they should charge [in game credits] for paint and decals rather than just letting us paint all day for free like some other game does. Paint is not free nor are decals.

As far as livery editor being associated with any type of racing is a bit of a stretch to say the least. You can make almost anything with a good one. It would be nice to be able to create exact replicas of various race liveries and would definitely add to the game.

I will not complain if it is there nor if it is not though I would be a bit upset if they add an editor and leave out things that I deem to be more important.

Sticking with realism, being able to put a number (1-3 digits) on any car would be realistic. Every time i went to a track day or autocross, a number is required, so it would be a step forward if we can do this on every car. A nice touch would be to allow us to use a virtual painters tape for our numbers :).

Why necessarily put it in the context of GT? Sure anything that can be added will already be a significant difference from previous GT's but I don't think it will automatically mean a step in the right direction, it'll only show that it still doesn't offer something as comprehensive like other racing games already do.
So I'd say don't bother with a stripe/decal/number option and just focus on a proper one.

Charging for painting ingame is just another pointless limitation serving no purpose at all, so what if some just want to paint all day (and drive them another)?
Should you also be charged for entering each track like GT4 did to punish you for wanting to drive all day?

You say it would be nice to create exact replicas, that has absolutely no appeal for me yet it would be very nice for me to have the ability to create and design my very own, why would only creating exact replicas add to the game (which is what you're seemingly suggesting) whilst doing unique stuff somehow doesn't?
If creating existing replicas would add something to the game for you, designing something yourself (which could hypothetically be realistic or adopted in real life) would add something to the game for people like me, or wouldn't it?

If they can't give us a full livery editor for whatever reason, and give us generic liveries like on the RMs and TCs to use, then indeed, that will be better than nothing. However, when GT7 comes on PS4, I don't think PD has any excuse whatsoever not to give us a livery editor.

And I disagree with charging for paint. It adds nothing to the game. Paint will not make your car perform better, thus making the game easier, like upgrades do.

Of course it would automatically be a step in the right direction that is assuming that you think we should be able to do this at all.

I know it would be much simpler for them to add the more simple version and to many people it would even be preferred. While not ideal could be better to have something like this and the extra time used on other areas of the game.

I di not see it as pointless at all. This is a sim and you earn tons of credits in the game. If you want to paint a car irl then you have to pay to do it. Free paint would just make it less realistic than if they charged you for it, ideally the price should vary based on the type of paint and/or size of decal.

Should you also be charged for entering each track like GT4 did to punish you for wanting to drive all day?
I did not say that but sure why not, irl you have to pay a fee to drive on a track or enter a race.

I did not say only create exact replicas but that is exactly what a lot of people will want to do where others will just want to add a number or stripes or decals or whatever they like.

If creating existing replicas would add something to the game for you, designing something yourself (which could hypothetically be realistic or adopted in real life) would add something to the game for people like me, or wouldn't it?
Of course it would, it would appear that you did not comprehend what I was saying.

in typical fashion, my computer will load the stream, but cannot keep a steady connection yet on my phone it says to stay tuned for a repeat..... Why!?!?!? lol

Well, UStream isn't the greatest streaming service.

And that crap better change when PS4 releases and SONY will be heavily dependent on it. Streaming if the press conference in "Home" and on the XMB browser were a cruel joke. THIS is why I'm pissed off about having to pay to play PS4 games online. We have ZERO promise that these sorts of bugs will be perfect when it releases.

After 20 minutes of issues, I've got ustream steady on my iPad, sound is pretty low though. Only about 2/3.

I'm pretty sure the "sim" part only applies to the driving. I don't know why you are saying it would be more realistic to pay for paint when GT's economy is not realistic to begin with. Why do performace parts cost exactly the same for every car, regardless if you're trying to upgrade a Civic or a McLaren F1? Fixing that is more important to me than determing how much paint should cost.

Being able to do a race livery on a race modded car would be great but a full blown livery editor would result in a lot of stuff other than race liveries such as hello kitty cars, anime themes and other such stuff.

Yes let's take a feature away because you seem to think some content is unsuitable.

Maybe do away with online racing too, because ya know, there's rammers out there. Yes let's ban it all.
