Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

We covered some important questions, and his answers contained some pleasant surprises. :)
Pleasant surprises work... I like pleasant surprises, they're a good thing. :D

Man, it's going to be hard to sleep for a few minutes...

Those quotes didn't come from my interview session. I was also thankful to have about 15 minutes with him one-on-one before the "round table" started. We covered some important questions, and his answers contained some pleasant surprises. :)

I'll begin the transcription process tomorrow. 👍

Cant wait!

Best teaser ever !

I wish journos would stop asking Kaz the same stupid questions about GT6 PS4. So much more they could ask him about GT6!

Looking forward to Jordans chat with Kaz though :)

Ikr? Just because other racing games are on next gen. Rather annoying to say the least.

One thought that popped into my mind, was whether or not the adaptive tessellation technology will also be applied to standard cars (or the semi-premiums or whatever they're called now).
I imagine it would, and if so that would help negate the criticism towards them being neglected or of massively inferior quality

They most likely won't be using it on standards because of the lacking base mesh.

I really hope this doesn't become a pattern. I do remember him being quoted saying there would be more announced at E3 back at the Silverstone event.
Well, to be fair they actually did announce/show new stuff on the E3.

How many hours away from now would that be?
EEST (Athen) is 10 hours ahead.

11am PT = 9pm EEST

My first thought when he said collaborate with other game companies, and announcing new things at Gamescom, which is hosted in Germany, is that PD and EA agreed on a sub-license for Porsche. I am not a Porsche fanatic, and I am fine with Ruf, but I have a feeling that is what Kaz is referring to by saying that. I could be totally wrong, but I hope I am right so the complainers will have less to complain about.

That's not what I think he implied, he certainly wouldn't mention it being a collaboration if it's nothing more than a sub-license.
It's very interesting if he's indeed planning collaborations with several different game companies (and it isn't a mistranslation of car companies which might be more obvious).

"We mentioned it a little bit at the Silverstone announcement a few weeks ago but we want to affect more industries outside of just the game world, and we're setting up a lot of collaborations with a lot of different game companies right now, as we speak"

Anyone who thinks this quote is referring to Porsche is fooling their self. Sure, if you just take "game companies" and use only that, without the context, then you can arrive at Porsche. Besides, if they licensed it now it would take them months to build the first car and likely wouldn't make it in until DLC anyway. So why announce it now?

Clearly a mis-translation guys. "Game companies" should just say "companies".

i hate to ask this but.... Can someone please explain to me adaptive tessalation

A technology that allows detail to be scaled based on the distance from that object. Aka save resources for things that are far away and don't require a high level of detail.

You can check here for a more in depth explanation but what it boils down is a dynamic increase or decrease in the tiles/polygons that make up the image mesh or, if you like, wireframe. The more tiles/polygons in the mesh the smoother curved surfaces will look.

So you are saying that translator san cannot translate correctly? You do realize that Kaz has a translator when he does these interviews at the large game shows? I think he clearly was saying game companies. I just threw out a speculation that it might have been with EA. I could be very wrong.
