Highlighting Music rally and replay as key features was just embarrassing viewing.

If players like the racing and its below their concentration threshold they'll just turn the music up on the regular races like they did for every other GT game
Ikr!?! I was expecting something like a free roam, more driver customization, suits, helmets, etc. Heck at least ONE new track.

The trailers presentation, it's a 7.5/8 I don't know maybe actually closer to just a 7. I'm excited and underwhelmed at the same time! 😅

Lol that's like saying: What's so important about sounds and graphics? So you can marvel at them when you should be focused on driving fast?
I've been around here for quite some time so I'm gonna give the classic response that I think I agree with: If you're driving properly, then damage shouldn't be much of a factor ;)

If we're talking about engines blowing up and brakes wearing etc.. That isn't what the GT series is going for ;)

But that's what we have PC sims for! The very small segment of people that want very detailed racing games.

Hold up, so there really isn't a dedicated career mode menu from the home map?!?! Just whatever appears via the world circuits?!

One thing that is slightly annoying me on the vehicle information cars/details. It tells you the displacement of the engine, but it doesn't tell you the layout, such as I3/I4/I6/V6/V8/V10/V12 etc which to me irks me quite a bit. Even though I know what the layout of the engine is as I've been into cars all my life, but to people who don't, they will never know. So for the parts of the game where Kaz wants this to be "educational" omitting the cars engine layout is a real blunder to me.

I guess the FIA should get rid of safety cells and trust drivers to drive properly.

Always the same thing here, you want the game to improve and evolve and all people say is: "We've never had that, we don't need it, go somewhere else"

Someone explain to me what's so important about a damage model?

So that you can pull into the pits and marvel at the damaged car that will end last?
It adds to the realism. If you slam you car into a barrier at 170mph that car shouldn't drive as well after the collision as it did before the collision. I personally also think that it would improve online racing as serial rammers and divebombers are likely to ram less if they learn that they won't gain an advantage from it.

Seeing the GT500 Skyline with GT3 cars makes me think about Sport Mode Manufacturers races. Maybe that won't be a thing any longer. That the championships will be more Nations and run what you brung based.

Lmao what? No, I want a good damage model for the same reason I want tyre temperature and weather/ToD and better physics, graphics, sounds, AI etc.: Because it's more immersive.
Isn't that why we play racing games?
So basic car damage like we have now just visible.... it sounds like a good idea but from the few lobby games i have played, car damage = quitting just like players quit if they spin or drives into the gravel.

I thought that was GT Cafe was for, it seems you're encouraged to complete the menu books by winning prize cars from events.

It's "improved", and there's "a lot of advancements". Yamauchi did say it was quicker, more aggressive, and better at taking appropriate actions rather than getting in the way - but also that it's something that they can work on pretty much infinitely.

If it's not for you, it's probably not for you.

The idea is basically a super-easy, super-chilled, cruising and tunes mode to indoctrinate kids into thinking cars are cool.
If the music rally is "super easy, super chilled" why is there a gold/silver/bronze system to it? I get the completionist part of it but if it's something you have to finish for 100% platinum... Superchilled? Swing and a miss.

Any idea how big of an improvement it was?

Guess you mean hardcore real life racers or the sim-racing pro's?I just play for fun and played all gt's exept the gt sport. Online isn't for me other than make some more credit's or a new car.I'm thinking of gt 5 and 6 seasonal events.

Career mode = World Circuit
So this is it?

You open a circuit and get a list of single events on that track? What about championships? Do we do a race on one track then go to another track when we feel like it? I really can't believe this is how we navigate career mode but it seems it is, the menus are going to be final by now.

Really bizarre.

It would appear that you are right when looking at the pictures from the article and especially that quote "At launch, Gran Turismo 7 will officially contain “over 34 locations and over 90 layouts” of tracks which will host “over 100” race events. Again, an official track list has not been revealed, but our own curated Gran Turismo 7 Track List shows you what nearly all of them will be."

So it does seem that there isn't a dedicated GT mode like there used to, just tracks you can select and see what events they offer. I'm not a fan tbh.

Im pretty sure thats the GT Cafe, look at the top left. It says menu book.

You can feel when they're too hot quite easily too and have to work to get them back into the right window.
You really don't, that's placebo. As long as you do a minimal ammount of cornering it will always stay in the perfect window. Trust me, I used SF19s a lot (very close to their limits) and not once did I have overheated tyres on a car that should burn them up
