Not going to be able to check until I get home, is NA-East starting tonight at 5pm or is it 4pm. The site says based off UTC, then gives PST, but then says it could be different due daylight savings...

Just in the first Manufacturer cup at Nurburgring and the quali was stupid. Let myself a nice gap at the back yet catch the pack infront who are all fighting for track position. Once I start my lap I’m in the middle of the pack.
Messed up my quali lap following a slow car but couldn’t really overtake then they went off the track I ended up following. Tried to make up lost time but was over trying and messing up. Finished P12 in quali.
Race was just as much mayhem as quali. Got punted in the first corner! Found out about 1/3 into the race I only had enough fuel for about 2 laps and went straight into fuel saving mode while changing the power output through the race. Managed to get myself into P8 during first lap and to stay about 30 seconds behind the leader. Lap 3 started and I found myself in P3 with just over 1 lap off fuel. Started to turn up the power during the lap. Made a mistake and lost two position and then at the end I managed to hold for P5.

Fuel saving is an option if you are quick racer but had a poor quali. Or you can go flat out but have to pit

Well that was a race to start my GT7 career with.

Qualified 4th (could probably have been higher I got held up by a guy in the last quarter of the lap). Battled briefly with a Spaniard in a Renault from about the hairpin on the GP circuit to the first corners of the ring itself, and that was pretty much that. Stayed solidly in 4th until the pit stops on lap 2, then when it was dark the wheels fell off. I got a penalty for crossing the pit lines (this is extremely ****ing dumb, when the auto-drive ends you're effectively pointed at it and you barely need to touch it to get a penalty even more disproportionate than anything Sport Mode usually has) and then I spent the last lap trying to figure out where the corners were. Ended up 6th, I might have been able to fight for a podium if I'd practiced.

Ended up with 144 points which is better than I thought I'd do, but then it's a good track if you know your way around. Practicing for these events is going to be a bit of a nightmare once time/weather conditions start coming in.

GT3 league, Qualified P10 finished P5 ran a fuel saver strategy from the start and stayed out of the mid-pack fighting, picked off groups as and when they binned it and brought it home under the lights for 31 points

Same strategy here too. Had a poor quali but recovered with letting others battle it out and fuel saving.
I found that others seem to think it’s ok to ram you off the road and get a 4second penalty rather than trying to overtake properly. By the time you have recovered the person who punted you has cleared the 4 seconds and more. Sometimes I feel like 4 seconds isn’t enough punishment for some of these racers

Not bad for a Honda guy with his Nsx

just looked at the times for the US. Lucky I'm still working from home and on the east coast cause those race slots are ridiculous. How do they expect anyone in a western time zone to race?
Only full-time pro racers allowed.

Seriously though. Literally the most inconvenient time for those who work 9-5.

Ditch time zones. Ditch regions. Why not? Conveience? Connection quality? I don't think so. I think it will fill the lobbies.

It’s probably for connection but also, what will happen if you manage to qualify for the world series on a different continent?

You can still create an account on the region you can race. I’m planning to do so.

Fell asleep with my daughter for her nap time like an absolute n00b and missed the first slot, I'm not even new at this

What a challenge this is, it has been a while since multiple laps of the Nord for me and I'm exhausted after. Qualified 6th, pretty happy with it, left with about 11 minutes left in the session so nowhere near anyone else, could maybe have pushed harder but for me just keep it in the pack and not left behind here after beaching it or something similar is good enough.

What a grind the race was, a couple around me loved to push and shove which gave them multiple penalties but my lapses in focus, cutting the grass, scraping the barrier, going headfirst into it at one point and struggling with the night lap meant I was never out of that battle regardless of keeping it clean on my end and pleased to bring it home in the same 6th position as I started as it really could have gone a number of different ways.

I was showing a friend of mine what an absolute nightmare this place is at night and managed to land on this quite nice shot of the castle lit up in the background:

As a sidenote when you've found a flow and aren't making mistakes, the Corvette is so smooth and fun to drive round here. It's a bit chunky in the tight corners but on the faster sections that soft suspension and engine grunt are very satisfying to master.

yeah practicing the 24h course is a bit of a nightmare. I've developed a practice routine that's really helped me improved on most tracks (I'm still pretty crappy overall but getting every week) but when a lap is 8-9 minutes long it's hard to get a practice in.

What parts of the track should I lower the fuel map for?

Or go fill tilt and make a pit stop? I just want to survive and get some points.

I use 1 only for 2 Rounds. If i'm in Front of the Pack, i got after 2. Round into the Pit. If i'm more behind just after the 1. Lap.

Ford GT race car 18' default setup is broken, car oversteers massively in weird places. You just can't push it fully without binning it.

Best GT driver in my race, first time ever I am happy with a P13 🙃

I know what you mean. Im so inconsistent on the 24 hrs layout. I have a good understanding of the track and know roughly which corners I struggle on, but i still get caught out on some. I’m glad that race is over and done with now.

So I only found out about 1/3 into the first lap fuel was an issue. I dropped the fuel map to position 4 round the twists and turns and then on the straights back to position 1 or 2 if I was slipstreaming. On lap two I had to drop to position 6 a few occasions just make sure I had enough fuel to attack more on the last lap

did you run the mix at 2 the whole time?

EDIT: NVM, you answered it in another post

I ran map 2/3 and short shifted as required pushing and backing off as the laps remaining indicator indicated, not an exact science

I almost didn't do this because the insane schedules on these test seasons have been extremely off-putting, but I figured I may as well start at some point and just skip races as needed since there's no telling when the proper seasons will start. I did the first Nations race of the first test season but then abandoned the rest.

Since I somehow managed to pop up into A+ (HELP!) messing around in the first week's daily races and I'm still struggling a bit with the new physics with no tuning or brake balance adjustments available to help, I figured I'd play this safe and go with an understeer-y FR since that's always been my comfort zone in the past. It also kind of doesn't help I've been going nuts on Elden Ring lately too instead of playing GT7. :P Dodge ended up being my manufacturer of choice.

When I signed up for the 19:00 (UK) slot and got into the lobby I was a bit scared as I saw at least one name I recognised as being VERY high level - Kelicful. I was definitely wondering what on earth I'd been placed into! Qualifying saw me get P9 with an 8:22.339 which was literally the best I could have hoped for. Even my personal best wouldn't have reached P8.

The start of the race was sketchy as hell. I misjudged my braking point at turn 1 and went quite deep which cost me a couple of places, then struggled to settle in until after getting through the first few turns of the GP circuit. Thankfully that put me in a bit of a bubble where I could do my fuel saving strategy for a no-stop in relative peace. It always worries me when heavy fuel saving to avoid a pit stop is the optimal strategy since some people get so desperate to pass if they aren't doing it themselves, especially around the Nordschleife...

I got one of the positions I lost back when a Subaru up front went off at Flugplatz and then followed another Subaru around for lap 1. In a case of deja vu, that Subaru then went a bit wide on Flugplatz on lap 2 allowing me to sneak past there as well...

From there I just aimed to keep it on the track and bring it home, hoping that some of the people up ahead would need to pit. Sure enough, two of them did so up to P7. That third lap though as it was getting dark, wow. I had a feeling it was coming watching the time of day but I am not used to racing at night!

End result, P7 and (thanks to the absurd spread of DR that was in the lobby) 217 points for a new personal best score! Certainly wasn't expecting that this morning...

Decent 1st race of this series for me; qualified 6th finished 3rd in the Lancer.

Been doing the go cart race so the lancer felt sluggish & wouldn't turn but I think it's actually alright.

Did fuel map 3 1st lap but still didn't save enough so had to do the last lap map 6 & short shifting, was caught by a line of cars just coming on to the home straight last lap but I'd saved enough by then I could drop it to map 1 and blast away for the podium!

I tried a race but no matter how much I practice I can't get the Genesis to not crash. :banghead:

Qualified 5th. Made it about half way through lap when the car crashes. And then spins around and around in the narrowest bit of road. Felt like an idiot. Quit before even more cars came. :dunce:

thought I had the fuel saving perfect but ran out out of fuel with 300 or so meters to go. Lost out on sixth by half a second. Feel really good about the performance since I'm in better lobbies than I was in last round.

First off all, thanks to all who provided fuel saving advice. I combined all of it and made a no stop race with 5% of fuel left. Now, I'm not the best at the 24H layout, but I can hold my own and navigate the track successfully enough to have a decent race pace. But, practice was rough and knew I was going to have a lot to handle in the race.

Anyway, I jump into the 17:00 session and do my best and qualify 10th. I didn't have the best race as I went off track 3 times (once per lap actually) that lost me some positions. One spectacular off track I had was me launching off of Kleines Kaurssell straight into the wall. Got reset on that one. But, at the same time I gained a bunch from the multiple spins and the people I passed in the pits. I did follow a Supra driver through the night which looked spectacular with just headlights illuminating the way ahead. In the end I finish P7 and call it a night.

I finished better than I expected and I'll gladly take the points I got. On to the next one.

Not too bad.

In GT1 and I chose Aston Martin. Qualified 3rd with a "safe" lap of 8:25. It was a very "up and down" race. Reached 2nd a couple occasions only to be knocked off track back to 8th or so. Ended up finishing 4th for 179 points.

I screwed up the fuel saving. I opted to use the fuel mapping regulator instead of just lift/coasting and short shifting. I think this hindered me on the straights, as when I checked the replay, the guys who flew past me on the straights shortshifted almost everywhere.
