1st Slot.
12 Clios, 4 Peugeot.

Knowing that the majority would race with the Clio, I just wouldn't.
Therefore, My pick was the Peugeot.

Qualified 10Th, the second Peugeot.
Two rammers (LUCKY, the other I forgot name), were trying to do a GTA or N4S race, because they were pushing everyone off, specially in corners.
They have got me too, when I was in 8th, right behind the other Peugeot.
Final position, 11th.

Race was so stupid, that I decided to try the next one.

2nd Slot.
11 Clios, 2 Peugeot, 3 Citroen.
Obviously, I would not drive the Clio, so Citroen for me this time.

Qualified 13th. When I was about to make my best lap time, an idiot (Fil BMW), started to sway in front of me.
Clearly being dirty, for other players could not set a good time.

When driving in P7, by the time the best DS, the second DS right behind me, pushed me into the uphill barriers,
to overtaking me. Lost 4 places.
Final position, 9th.

Usually I'm happy even if I finish last. As long as I have fun with other players.

This time it wasn't fun. Too many rammers and, as usual, people that don't have any idea of what is racing.

And again a car I don't even try!

Cheers and until next one.
I thought the same about the Clio's & went pug, fully tricked out & then toned back. As good as the racing was, it was still obv an inferior car. Decided to have a go with a Clio, realised in the first turn I'd forgotten to upgrade the brakes from stock, still did a faster qualifying lap & was easier to stay wheel to wheel in the race.

I think I'd prefer it if it was any car under 1150kg & 216bhp then at least there might be some variation!

Today's race would have been better named the Alsace Destruction Derby. I took the DS3, partially out of disdain for the Clio meta and partially for a bit of fun. My sister owns a DS3 so I had to take the opportunity to wind her up by sending her a picture of my liveried DS3 with a note that I had borrowed her car, modified the hell out of it and was going to thrash it in a race. When I got into the lobby I discovered I wasn't alone as there was another DS3 in the midst of an otherwise all-Clio lobby.

Qualifying was a bit frustrating. On one of my flying laps I was going over the top of the steep hill to discover a Portuguese driver who had gone extremely wide and then had a poor run onto the back straight. The Italian in front of me had to go on his/her inside down the back straight to get past. The Portuguese driver then slammed the brakes on and started moving left to get off the racing line, but by then I had also started going left to try to avoid contact. When I had to swerve right, the car spun out. :irked:

I did end up setting a personal best as my quali lap though, starting P9 with a 0:55.070.

When the race started it felt like being in a pinball machine on lap 1. A South African squeezed me all the way onto the kerb heading down to the sharp right before the hill. When I then was going through the right hander from that awkward angle, I got slammed hard into the wall by a combo of a Greek driver and a German driver and dropped pretty much all the way to the back. :indiff:

From there I ended up being pretty much entangled at the back for a while with the Greek driver. He/she had picked up a track limits penalty heading towards the hill on lap 2 so I got past on the penalty line. While I was in the middle of turning in for the sharp left at the end of the lap, I had to abandon the apex due to a Brit who'd gone for a move... and then I got shoved very wide because the Greek came in even hotter and rammed the Brit into me. To add insult to injury, the game gave me a track limits penalty for the privilege of being pushed into a really horrible line! :grumpy:

The penalty dropped me down to P13 and I was momentarily P14 after the Brit went for another lunge at the last sharp bend, but I got the cutback and recovered it.

I continued being tangled up with the Greek driver in the midst of some fighting until I finally managed to break away on lap 6, taking a position back from the South African and moving up to P10 after he sent himself into the wall heading up the hill. I managed to catch up with P9 by lap 9 but couldn't get past.

End result, P10 and 154 points. I also somehow emerged from the madness with a clean race bonus.

Now to see if YouTube will block this video like it did for my Manufacturer's video from yesterday. I forgot to turn broadcast mode on yesterday so I got copyright blocked because of the Fanatix - Vroom song, but I'm not sure if GT7's broadcast mode is even going to work. I made sure to turn it on today but it still played Vroom in free practice before I started streaming... :odd:

Who's Nismonath5? They had a GT Planet livery on their car.
Tom Hanks Hello GIF

It's stupid you'd even get a copyright infringement for a song created for and agreed to be played in a game which was bought fairly. If they don't want people broadcasting their song then don't agree to have it in a game.

Tried the first GT2 slot. There was a 10 minute black sceen before Q. Only 7 started.

Started 2nd. Had fun qualifying. The race not so much. Parked in the pit for the last lap. Had enough of roller derby. Finished 7th.

After having an issue with ps plus (new card) I could only get into the third slot last night, after testing and tweaking the pug (no meta for me) the best I could do was just breaking into the 56s lap time...about 2s off the pole but managed a credible 6th in Qualifying. Got a decent start, and promptly watched the guy in front of me go too fast into turn 1 and eat grass, then 4th place pushed it too hard into the uphill hairpin and got the wall...from there it was an uneventful race to 4th, worst result in Nations Cup so far for me but with an uncompetitive car it was the best I can do, I'll have to take the 70 points and see what I can do in rd 2

Ran the 1600 timeslot, qualified on pole and had a blast out there. Good luck to everyone on round 1 of the GTWS Nations Cup

The early start times meant I wouldn't be home until just before Slot 2 started. Even with the reduced player limits, we still couldn't manage a full house, with only 14 starting comprised of 13 at DR A+ and 1 at A. Did I mention this was Top Split as well? The obvious lack of people competing was obvious, but I guess that's what happens when you schedule a race on a Friday evening.

I managed to qualify 5th on the grid and made a great start to get up to 4th place, then briefly lost it again due to cold tires. I got the place back again the following lap as they had a penalty for cutting too far to the inside at T1. After that I held the place for the rest of the race, maintaining a gap of around 1.5-2s to 5th place. Relatively uneventful and worth 269 points. Having such a great start makes it a bit regrettable that I likely won't be doing enough races for a "full" Nation's season (7 of 9), since that's going to hurt my final standings.

I just registered for an account just to say congrats, that was me in 2nd, no way in hell I was catching you, haha.
Awesome, and welcome to GTPlanet. You surely had a much better exit out of a few corners, made me work for it. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of season two and hopefully see you on track!

Good point. This is a test season, so I am sure PD tries to gain data on when is a good time, to organize these races 🧐

Why are they only 4/5 time slots for these championships races? I’m unable to compete today in the manufactures race due to the times they are.

I cannot imagine cup races with the current state of online lobbies. Hats off to all of you. Definitely enjoy watching footage.

Wow. That was bad. Entered slot 1 with exactly zero laps of practice, but I had done okay-ish here in GTS with this car, so maybe I could be middle of the road and gain a few spots while settling in.

Nope. I was slow to begin with, even finding good lines and improving I was still starting p14 of 15. Off the start someone wrecked and I was p13 then and gaining on p12. Promptly ran wide at the last goofball chicane and lost time, got a track cut penalty at the bottom chicane, and ran off exiting turn 1 twice. Was p14 now with p13 over 8 seconds ahead. And 8 laps left. The gap went up and down a bit but I managed to close it and the pressure showed. The driver ran wide into turn 1 on lap 14 and I got the spot. P13 to salvage at least some sort of pride in my performance.

Otherwise something to forget. I've never had great speed at this track but this car just seemed to hate the turns here. I would get a run exiting a turn and still lose out. Oh well.

Hope you all have better runs.

So first run of Manufacturers series, first run for Subaru (feel like that will help me for Nations cup) felt pretty confident as Kyoto is one of my favorites. Did a decent job in Qualifying, sitting around 6th for a bit, messing up the last chicane to wreck a few laps. Finally get one together to get me into 3rd behind a meta Mazda but get pipped into 4th by a last second run by a Merc.

Race time, check the lap count 15 laps...this is gonna be a tough one, pick off the merc after the fast eases, then pick off the Evo coming out of the main chicane, then start going after the Mazda...get down into the 44s range but then start going into the 45s. The Mazda gets out to a 4s lead but I'm just trying to defend my 1s lead over the Evo, about 3 to go I start pulling away from the Evo and start feeling in the Mazda. Start getting a little faster as I bring the lead down to under 2s at the line.

Long race and trying to do 2 slots will be tough, but scooped up 99 points for 2nd and will try to do more Manufacturers races as it goes on

There is a special place in hell for people who run wide at turn 1 and then jump straight back on the racing line at half pace through the esses. I just dropped 6 places from a moron who fid this and then slammed me into a wall as he lost control with dirty tyres.

FML, the last slot had better go well.

It would be nice for the Manufacturer series if you could sort the lap leaderboard by manufacturer. It seems to not even be sorted by region anymore, it's a worldwide top 10. Even in GTS it annoyed me you could only see the top 10, not even where your time ranked. I'm running 1:44.3 in the Vette right now, no idea if it's any good. I'm 4 seconds behind the Atenza but I know it's way faster.

I'm not the kind of guy to quit races, and I don't if I make a mistake myself.
This time I did quit, but not because of me.

16:00 Race

Qualified 10th.
Ok start, managed to overtake the 9th, he went wide on the uphill left bend.
Next lap, I wasn't smooth on the esses, and he passed me at the uphill left, retaking his 9th place. Clean move.
After this, it was a party with 1 South African and 3 Spanish folks.

They must think that if they are behind a car, they have to overtake at any cost.
From there I was hit several times each lap. Hehe.
The preferred maneuver from them, was the inside pushing pass ridiculous move, which have no penalty.

The last hit of a Spanish Supra, pushing me to the barriers, was the last drop for me.
Instant quit at the half race. :)

I will try the 16:00 now.

BTW, Jaguar this time.

I just did a custom mock race against GR.4 AI on Kyoto. They put up a pretty decent fight, actually make mistakes when you pressure them. Unfortunately my Vette was no match for the Alfa 155 that was in the race, it ruined me coming out of the slower corners. I managed 2nd. This is a good track for actual racing.

I haven’t done any race but the practice was quite fun. I’m hoping I can hop in later today and that I get in 😆

Was not feeling confident. I seemed to be way down on the leaderboards and could not see where I could push more without constantly binning it. Then my wheel decided to revive it's party trick of not shifting up when I ask it too and then shifting twice when it does after pulling the paddle multiple times to try and get it to shift. I constantly reset the wheel but it didn't want to clear. Eventually I found it had mostly settled down just in time for the slot to start.
I was pleased to see a friend. Well more an acquaintance. @LVS_1986's friend Sudoku. I'm not sure if he recognised me or not especially as you can't message drivers direct currently. I was surprised to see him as he has been A at some point.
With my poor pace I qualified 15th out of 16. Not sure where 4 people went. I was 13th at some point but it was never going to last. I made places on the first few laps as some people went off. Sudoku seemed to wait up meaning they had hit someone accidentally meaning I shared the track with them for a lap or two. It was starting to fall back from the group ahead but not loosing too much to behind. Then it was my turn to make a mistake. I went wide out of the long left and the car went to the far barrier. I thankfully span the right way but had heavy damage. Down to DFL. The Portuguese ahead went off and I had them down the hill only for the car to skate off over the chicane. I had a heavy tank slap to control and they got past again. That coupled with the gear issue randomly occuring across the race was the final nail and 16th and 40 points was my reward. I'm not sure if the Gr4 Lexus is slow or I was massively slow at this combo. Especially the final sector where I was constantly loosing time. Hopefully this will be a joker round after a frustrating race.
