GT5 Pre-Order Bonuses?

Is it just me or does the orange BMW M3 vaguely resemble the M3 GTS?
 
RACECAR, you're right. it does look like they just slapped on the livery onto that car.

The only difference I see is the lack of front splitter on the GT version.

Besides, GT4 had 3 different types of M3. It shows they appreciate how good a car it is, and I would presume that there will be more than one premium M3 in GT5. You see how similar the car models are, there is little to no difference between them.
 
I think that CE is a great deal... the model alone could be 30 dollars, a 300 page book could cost 10-25 dollars, and the keychain, box, and DLC cars are all nice extras along with, of course, the game.
Too bad I was stuck with the SLS AMG Stealth model. While I do like the car, I would have prefered the R10 or the 787B.

We got an update from the appropriate department that this "The stealth cars " promotional offer are for the standard edition only.

This promotion is not available on the collector's edition.

Of course it's helpful, just not good. I really wanted those pre-order cars (Without the need for further purchase for DLC)

What to do now. The way I see it I have two options. I can change my order to the standard edition to get the pre-order cars I want or I can keep my order as it stands, CE from Amazon. Hmm...

If it had the same stuff as the US Collector's Edition, I wouldn't hesitate, because it's such a good deal as the post above me says. But the European Collector's Edition is not worth it... Presumably to entice people into paying the extra cash for the Signature Edition. I might just decide to pay them less instead. :lol:

I could... but there is a chance that if there is any DLC, that it could be region locked.

Also, if there is another GT Academy, Because I would have a US copy and probably have to use a US PSN id, I wouldn't be able to compete. I just want a PAL copy, it's a lot less hassle.

Game is not offering any pre-order cars no.

I'm not sure about ireland, but for the UK (And presumably all EU regions) Game/Gamestation/Gameplay have exclusivity for the signature edition (In which you get all 6 pre-order cars).

Another 3 select retailers are offering 2 pre-order cars each, but as far as I can gather, only for the standard edition of the game.

Amazon are offering The Mclaren F1 and the Mazda 787B stealth cars.
Play are offering the Mercedes SLS AMG and the Nissan GTR GT500 Race car stealth cars.
HMV are offering the Audi R10 TDI and the Honda NSX GT500 stealth cars.

But I think this is just for the UK though, i'm not sure. The main retailers should have it listed on their website if they do offer the pre-order cars.
 
That is a same because I have no chance of coughing up the cash for SE,and GAME doesn't have the CE. But I will survive without them. I will get 1000 cars anyway when I finish the game

All I know is, Game can't offer the pre-order cars for anything other than the Signature Edition.

I'd advise putting your pre-order in elsewhere if you're going for the standard edition 👍
 
I will pre-order off HMV tomarrow,I never looked at any other shops because GAME is the only gaming shop in my area.So thanks GTPlanet :D

They deliver to Ireland (Though i'm guessing 7-10 days is too long for you?)

Pretty sure Amazon deliver outside of the UK too (I thought they would have a dedicated .ie site, but they don't which I thought was odd).

If HMV operate locally, they're definitely the best option.
 
The nearest HMV is about an hour away,and I would prefair to buy of a company so close rather than an overseas shop.
EDIT: But after 5 years,another week wouldnt make much difference

Man, that is really annoying since the gran turismo site specifically mentions that both the standard and CE are eligible for pre order bonuses.

Looks like I'm preordering from HMV then, I want that NSX xD Kinda wanted the 787B aswell but meh. R10 & NSX it is for me.
Its a shame you cant choose which Stealths you want :P

Also how come the US Collectors edition gets all the bits of the UK Signature edition but for the price of the UK Collectors edition?!
UK/Europe are getting severly screwed on that I think.. Boo!! 👎

This may sound like a dumb question, but if I'm picking up my CE at Gamestop itself, will the book, key chain, diecast, etc. all come in a box of some sort? Because unlike the SE in Europe, us Americans don't get a shiny box for all the "stuff".

Welcome to rip off Britain we get ripped off at every turn :crazy:
and to make it worse as of jan 2011 most things will be even more expensive as v.a.t is rising to 20% :ouch:
 
Also Sony got the European Market pretty sown up. Targeting the USA is now their priority.
At the expence of there fanbase I might add.
 
I'm going CE as well, and like Seismica I'm a bit disappointed that I will not get any pre-order bonus stealth cars. There is no way I'm parting with an extra £90 for a toy car that looks naff compared to the US CE version, and a bunch of extra stuff that was clearly just thrown in to make the deal seem better, all wrapped up in a black biscuit tin!

The way I see it, I can just wait and pick up the stealth pack via DLC later on, or, order multiple copies of the standard version. I know it's a pain having to send stuff back, but that's the deal, so...

In the end i've decided to get the CE anyway, I want that Apex book so much (Damn you Sony!). With the SE, I feel the pricetag is to buy entry into the SLS competition. Apart from that, you get a keychain, a USB pen (With trailers on it you can find on the net anyway), a mass produced low quality leather wallet and perhaps more tat. Totally not worth it.

Especially when I don't hold a full driving license, so I can't enter the SLS competition :lol:

I'm going to email SCEE actually. Maybe i'm taking it too far, but an email costs nothing. You can bet those pre-order cars are going to cost something when/if they're released as DLC, so i'm/we're getting ripped off to be honest.
 
I know this may be kind of a stupid question but would anyone be willing to sell me a keychain? I've come to the understanding that some members are buying more than one of the editions, and was hoping I could purchase one of them. If any of you could get back to me that would be great. (Via PM, or otherwise).
