Don't know if this has been brought up already but can we buy stealth cars on psn?

Nope, not before the game comes out at least. Maybe about 3-4 months down the road after release, like the SP cars with GT PSP but even thats kinda questionable.

I would be very, very surprised if the stealth pack did not make it at least as paid DLC a few months after launch. Chances are, it will be free, just like it is now really.

On the retailers' sites there are disclaimers stating that the pre-order cars may become available at a later date via the Playstation Network. I think they will charge for them myself, I don't think free DLC is something Sony would allow for a game that is likely to sell into 8 figures.

Definitely been drifted.

Gryzor ban date 24th August.

Mr Frappy join date 24th August.

Just lol.

im sure not many will buy the preorder content as dlc cause those cars are already in the game, just a different color.

They also have unique tuning upgrades that cannot be purchased ingame. I suspect they will not only have extra power (Rumoured to be an extra 50bhp), but also a higher level of grip and maybe a higher level of downforce too. If they were just the same cars but different colour they would be indeed, pointless.

I just don't really see the interest in the stealth or chrome cars personally, I will be getting them all with the SE but they're the least of my interests when I throw GT5 in for the first time. I wont use them in GT mode (GT life) if that is even possible, at best I might take one for a spin in arcade or online.

I personally like factory standard cars more than some fictionally tuned car, and when I do drive tuned cars I like to do the tuning myself (excluding tuner cars, eg Mine GTR etc).

I don't think that's true. The liveries are the only things exclusive about the cars. The "selected" performance upgrades just sound like your normal parts thrown on.

If there's any sense at PD (discuss amongst yourselves  ), the "performance upgrades" with either the ChromeLines or the stealths should be different from the tuning options available to the normal versions. It would actually make them unique. Though looking back through PD's history, tuned cars usually have less performance capabilities once fully tuned, so it's a double-edged sword.

Since this would actually make them different from the rest of the cars in the game, I could see them costing money as DLC down the road. If it's really nothing more than fancy paintjobs, I'd expect them to be free, just like the DLC for PSP.

Very good point Jay. I've ordered the CE so will get the chromeline cars but I've thought the same thing about using them to begin with. I know it's been said before but grinding away at the start of GT Mode is a memorable part of the game which I don't think I'd want to skip. I'm sure I'll use them later on in the game and online but I'll probably try to ignore them to begin with.

This also raise the question what to do about importing cash and cars from GT5P

Well if you like the early cash grinding, then the choice of whether or not to carry over data from GT5P is obvious. I know I will not be importing mine over. It would ruin the sense of progression for me. I'll also just ignore the DLC cars for a while.

Well, I don't think those DLC cars will be in GT Mode, likely in Arcade mode just like the cars from GT PSP so I don't see it affecting your progression.

Even if they're available in all modes, yeah, sign me up under the "no use for them in GT Mode" list. For a long while anyways, until I start winning/buying cars of comparable performance.

Looks like us Aussies don't get any pre-order Stealth cars :(

I'm unsure about this but I think Australians may get it if you order the Signature Edition.

Check on EB games. (Where I got my Signature Edition from)

Edit: Australians do get stealth BUT you have to order the Signature Edition.

Previous games lost a lot of their appeal to me when I could afford to buy whatever I wanted.

In my opinion, I hope the pre-bonus cars are in the GT Garage. I don't really want them if they are just in Arcade mode. I personally wouldn't use them in the beginning of the Simulation Mode though. Only if I was doing a MP race would I consider busting them out.

This leads to my other question, what pre-order bonuses are there at the moment?
I know Amazon has the Mercedes SLS Stealth Model (SP?) and Gamestop has two, McClaren F1 and #20 Nascar Racecar. Is there any other pre-order bonuses? :)

PS: Sorry if they were listed earlier in the thread, I tend to only read the first and last few pages of a thread when limited on time.

Edit: Reworded a sentence.

I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition today. In addition to the five cromeline cars (Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro, BMW BMW M3 Coupe, Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe,Shelby Cobra 427 S/C) i also could choose one of these models:

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Stealth Model
Mazda 787B Stealth Model
Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model (my choice)

And one free GT5 t-shirt

Ordered her: http://www.gamezone.no/aspx/produkter.aspx?action=sok&sokval=gran*turismo*5

It's going to depend on how much money transfers from GT5P for me. In GT4 it was a big help to transfer the money. Kinda like a kick start to game.

Ordered my signature edition today, still not sure if i'll transfer my data from GT5P or not though

You know everyone is going to transfer them if it turns out you can use them online. I will not transfer the money over either(if possible) because it ruins the sense of accomplishment. There have been games that I have used a Gameshark with in the past and it always ruined the game for me. The same applies here, even though technically it is not cheating.
