I am expecting problems or a delay for sure. Just hoping it works early morning because I am picking up "the other game" tomorrow morning as soon as Gamestop opens. Just hoping I could play some GT5 with the new update before jumping to the other game.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), 04:00 BST.
Are you sure about that? I expected a rather big announcement on GT official site or at least by Kaz on twitter since the update is so big and important... but the only source I've found is a couple of lines from a PSblog article... not "official" enough IMHO:nervous:

He's just messing with you. :P

I'm hoping it comes out Tuesday night for whenever that is in Japan. That means we should get it late monday night in the U.S. if my terrible understanding of time zones is even remotely correct.

What i'm really expecting is for the patch to roll out sometime in the evening, tuesday, pacific time.

Do you think DLC could include the Audi R18 TDI from this year's Le Mans? It's a stretch but I know it's desirable.

The wording of the DLC pack, and what we've seen so far, i'm expecting only new race modified cars. I wouldn't count on anything brand new, but that would be pretty awesome.

If the maintenance is done by 4:00 BST, we'll be getting it at least 8 AM tomorrow. And yes, I'm Pacific Time as well.

*edit

Nvm, its 04:00 BST (not 4:00 BST PM) so that may mean 8pm today??

Its the DLC for me which will drag GT5 into 2011.

When the game was launched becuase it didn't have many 'new' up-to-date current cars it felt like the game was old even before it came out to me.

As its a 'car game' it should be as current as possible.

Here hoping to driving some new cars very soon.

Mind you I'm hoping for some golden oldies too - prays for a Sierra Cosworth 3-door.

Not likely, since PD doesn't sponsor them, however, Lucas's Signatech Nissan LMP2 car is, so maybe we can expect that instead.

Also, for all of us Easterners (US EDT), we can expect 2.0 at 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM tonight (If PD's maintenance update is in fact Spec II).

The maintenance schedule is usually the period of time where we can't log in and play the game, so it would mean after 10-11PM for you guys.

Soo how many days/hours left for the update?
i'm really confused by the " 1 million threads " about spec 2.0 update.

Well, of course, that would depend on where you live. If Akira is right, we should be getting it sometime after the maintenance is finished, which is 04:00 BST on the 11th of October.

Maintenance:
Start: October/11/2011 03:00 BST
Finish: October/11/2011 04:00 BST (British Standard time)

It is not 100% sure it is relevant to Spec 2.0, but I suppose we may assume it is very probable (due to PS Blog info).

EDIT daus26, 24 hours. For your convenience , in US it will be:
Start:10/10/2011 22:00 EDT
Finish:10/10/2011 23:00 EDT

Just to be sure, those times are based on the 24 hour clock right? Not 12?

I knew it. Thank you very much RoadRunner!

I'm Pacific Time so it will be so convenient for me (8PM!).

You know what's sad in all these rewind jokes. In the old days, players would practice a track lap after lap to get it right. Corner after Corner looking for the right driving line and topping your last lap time. The good old days.

Now we have people requesting hand holding trapeziums. If this was a Need for speed or Grid then i would understand. But these are people who are supposedly GT fans. I simply cannot believe somone who plays and lives GT would request such a feature. Simply cannot.

Just step away from GT a little bit and venture out to another game called Dark souls. Oh i would love someone to tell a DS fan about introducing rewind in to that game. And that's crux of the issue.

Gran Turismo makes you a better player. It doesn't hold your hand. You jack up a corner you try it again. I remember the formula GT A Spec races. The sheer tension of the last lap knowing full well that a slip would cost me places which is so hard to get back. That's what seperates GT from other games. The sense of achievement. It's something built over a decade spanning 5 installments of the series. It's what makes it unique.

And yet certain people want it to be another clone. Another run of the mill game. Another easy game. All i can say Thank goodness Kaz didnt add it. I never doubted him but it's easy to fall into the mindset of pleasing everyone and yet this mentality often accomplishes nothing in the end. And it also makes GT lose it's greatest assest. It's greatest feature which surpasses all other games. It's called individualism. It has craved a spot in racing games for itself. Uniqueness is often to attain in a crowded market like the gaming industry. Kaz knows this and copying a feature which dilutes the series would turn it into another arcadey game which they are literally swarming around in the market.

Thank You Kaz. Stay true to your ideas and your philosophies. It's what makes me buy this series over and over again. The moment this is lost would be the day i part away from it

I have to disagree. The rewind feature in FM3 made me a better driver as I wasn't as hesitant to start disabling the nanny devices. I played every single GT from 1-4 with every assist on with automatic shifting. Because of the rewind feature, I was able to build up my skills to play with every assist off while rowing my own gears with the clutch.

Just another reminder for everyone to back up their game saves. Not that I have any doubt in PD or anything but it's better just to be on the safe side.

Am I the onlyone that thinks that when Kaz said DLC a week later what he realy meant was "in the week following"

I really think (or atleast hope) that it could be that the DLC can be available later this week in stead of next week.

As I said it might just be hopfull thinking ;) :D

When he said a week later, I thought he meant just... a week later...
What do you mean, when you say to some one "a week later"? :sly:

I think he means everything between 5 to 10 days, after release of the update... 👍

Don't start over-interpretet what was said...
