Umm that road textures looks like someone painted a road with gray water-color paint.

I think in times like this recession they actually do that to save $$$....

But seriously I think that's a rather unflattering shot in terms of quality and compression artifacts.

True... but it's not like PD wasn't planning GT5 before GT4 even hit shelves (this is just how it goes with games and consoles) and TT was awful close to GT just with different rules and layout and GT PSP remains to be seen but seems like it's development was large parts - port gt4 - and - license the same things you will be licensing for GT5. The idea being that both actually served somewhat as parallel development and maybe even development tools/practice for GT5... in any event not really getting in the way of GT5 so much.

That's just good planning - good for them. Can't blame them for T10 not thinking ahead ;)

And if this screenshot really comes from Forza 3 (trailer, gameplay, whatever), it's just... let's say, stunning.

Well good idea or not, it doesn't lend itself to the credence that those games somehow cut into GT5 dev time....

That's a Forza3 shot? Boy I hope that's REALLY bad camera and some REALLY bad compression...

Not even Turn 10 can escape the recession eh? Aren't they Microsoft's in-house developer?

See for yourself, 1:06.

If I paid $80 for that game I would be mad, to say the least.

Why is Forza constantly being defended?

Forza is not as good as Gran Turismo. It is ok, life will move on.

The way I see it, I won't blame TURN 10 guys, I blame Microsoft.. TURN 10, just like PD is division from the big daddies.. SONY and MICROSOFT..

Sony has given PD unlimited time for GT5
Microsoft gave it about 2 year window..
Also Microsoft wants Turn 10 to say that FM3 is best looking, best physics. all that.. because if you read some interview with TURN 10 Guy, he is a visionary for a good game just like in GT5.

So blame Microsoft for them being a__ess to rush FM3 game. As well blame Xbox 360 being a crappy hardware ..

I needed to post this somewhere, so... look at the road texture, it is GT5 like, right? :)

edit- Come on Kaz, that is totally worthy of being in GT somewhere down the line.

So I'm mad?

I love how any thread that even mentions Forza ultimately devolves into comments like this.

I gave an opinion! Relax man, do whatever you want. It look like crap to me, and definately not worth $80, In my opinion.

Why do people (you) take offense to an opinion?

Exactly, its only opinions, I would agree It's not worth 60 dollars.. but then again I wanna buy it and play it.. silly how people would almost kill because they don't agree haha .

but a crappy video is enough to say a game isn't good?

YES!!!! And I didnt even say that! I said "If I paid $80 for that game I would be mad, to say the least." Where did I say it isnt good?

Critique GT5 to your hearts desire, (lol) I dont care.

edit- Talk about the sweet photo I posted instead of putting words in my mouth.

Alright, alright. The first time you didn't say "in your opinion." My bad.

Ok you didn't exactly say that, but come on, that's gonna be the normally interpereted meaning.

How about this: It seems like a double standard that we can't be dissapointed with GT5s damage and AI based on some videos from a game convention, but a crappy video is enough to say F3 isn't worth $80?

You are fighting another losing battle...

YOU can disappointed about whatever you want! I personally dont care about AI or damage, I dont plan on using either of them. Also, I can say that a video that shows actual gameplay footage is definately enough info to show that a game is not worth $80.

And you said "you didnt exactly say that"... Yes I did!!!!!!!!!! I copy/pasted myself!!!

You, sir, are bad Arse!! That should be sent to Kaz, that is just as cool as Eiger.

Damn, you are so defensive you can't even see straight... I was AGREEING with you that you didn't say exactly what I said you said...

I dunno about the other part either, every time I have said the AI appears to be shaping up poorly, I am told I can't make that call yet as the game is not finished...

Can you stop turning threads into stealth F3 threads, its consistently always involving you.

How is this a stealth forza thread? It's a blatent forza vs gt thread... yes I am in a lot of threads about forza... did you notice I am pretty active in most of the current threads on this forum? Kinda goes hand in hand doesn't it?

I didn't see any complaints about it being a stealth GT thread when the tracks in GT were being praised...

Infact blue ridge park way was in Test drive 6... man...i really wish PD would put that road in GT5.

Its a mix of tunnels, cliff side runs. Rock face edge turns A bridge that runs along the side of the edges....it's just amazing.

It's also consistenly involving you. Well, just as much as him or most other people anyway. If I didn't know better I'd say you've made a couple posts like that to try and throw people off the scent.

That is a drivers heaven! If they modelled it in the fall time it would be the baddest track with the most visually stimulating surrounding. Pure epic-ness.

edit- at 1:07 in the video, is the car jumping instead of gliding?

That looks like an awesome ride!
yep. here some more info.

Outstanding scenery and recreational opportunities make the Blue Ridge Parkway one of the most popular units of the National Park System. "America's Favorite Drive" winds its way 469 miles through mountain meadows and past seemingly endless vistas. Split-rail fences, old farmsteads and historic structures complement spectacular views of distant mountains and neighboring valleys
