these look kinda fun, especially A and B, i may try A for ***** and giggles.

IMHO those trying to Fuel map their way to success in B and C will get murdered, if don't short shift, you get gobbled up.
Too lazy for manual right now but I understand how beneficial it is. So, I figured it out and easy to remember. First 3 laps FM3, 4th FM4 and 5th FM5. This will be just enough to barely cross the 🏁.

That's what I do but it's horrribly slow. SHort shifters eat me alive in A+/A rooms.

Hahaha take a look at the leaderboards for race C and ask again! The TT is insanely dominant right now.
Maybe for the quali lap, but they eat front tires like crazy during the race.

Menage GT and Silvia seem to be the strongest... thus far anyway.

The Megane and the Silvia are sweet looking rides. I am taking a long break from the green so I'll have to find some inspiration some other way.

Want to find out about an idiot who did his first race B not knowing about fuel save? Me!! 😂

Started 11th and got up to 6th and then start of lap 4 I get a notice that only 1.2 laps of fuel remain! Had to short shift last 2 laps on map 6 and finished 14th 😤🫤

Why make a fuel save mode on a 5 lap race? Dumbest decision ever!

You're not the only one. Did several races this afternoon and have seen this message about lap 4 in chat several times "Oh this is a fuel saving race" 😆

My first race of the day Z28 was in the lobby. He started 4th and I started 6th. He went on to win of course. I was only down 20 sec in 5th so that's win in my book 😆. First race I've ever done with fuel saving. I'm using an old 458 TX rim on my TGT2 and DPad isn't great so I was lucky to even end up where I was. Second race I ended up not reading the laps correctly and saved too much fuel and came home 8th. Pretty good racing though, no argy bargy. Definitely an art to the fuel saving, some of those guys make it look easy.

My quali time is 1:18.7 in the Jag and I got to that time pretty quick but kind of hit a wall and can't seem to improve even in the Supra or WRX. I watched wind_109's 1:15.8 and he was hitting 169 down the end of the first straight but I was only hitting 163 so my drive out of the first turn is awful. Need to sort that out.

TT in race C is good for qualifying….I then tried it in a race and the front softs were down to the rims after just 2 laps!

Sadly, I was on the home straight when I noticed this. Lap 3 was “entertaining”. TBH it was my own fault as I was too busy to notice the glowing red rectangles.

Switched to hards and it wasn’t too bad but the damage had already been done.

Postscript to this is that I then set my best Q in the Swift…which I also foolishly tried to race. Softs must be made out of marshmallow…… a bit like the useless blob between my ears. :dunce:

Just did a very short time trial session for race C, before going to bed, maybe 10 Minutes or even less.
I don’t even know why I did it as I’m not playing the dailies, but to my Surprise I managed to set the 2nd Fastest Global Leaderboard Time in my trustworthy Jaguar 😁
A Masterpiece of British (cough) Engineering.
Right before I was about to shut off my PS5 I noticed I had 25 Seconds left to race Daily A so I thought ok, that‘d be a cool final to finish my GT7 Day.
Good decision.
Got thrown into a Lobby with @NAXEHT which I only noticed because I forgot to switch off my HUD which I usually don’t use.
We had a very nice battle and a super fair Race.
Well done @NAXEHT 🍻

Indeed. Nice to see you, man. Good race! Car performances in that race are... a bit varied though, let’s say. But it can be fun! :D

Trying out race B this week as I haven't raced at Spa in a long time. I'm in the Corvette at the suggestion of the Tidgney video as I've used it before and know what it can do. At first was struggling to get a consistent lap and ended up with a time of 2:21.3XX. I wanted to knock the time down to a 2:20.9XX as I know a consistent lap could get me that .3 seconds. Well, somehow I managed a time of 2:19.9XX and I am over the moon with the time. Looking forward to some races tomorrow.

At the moment sport mode is just fine, ofc the penalty system could use some tweaks, as well as bop. I will say making daily race A no DR & SR race was a good choice. I am mostly just doing the GTWS races at the moment on my main account. Daily races are so competitive for me in the highish A DR lobbies and many times I get matched with A+ DR aliens and that is quite demotivating, racing for the last 3-5 places. Also I keep up my DR and even slightly increase it by only racing in GTWS => possibility to score more points in GTWS.

This weeks daily race a looks fun for sure, going to test it out with a bunch of cars. I have many old classics to try out & some newer ones too 🏁 I literally have like 80% of the legendary cars lol.

Did anyone notice that race B is longer than normal? 5 laps @2:25/lap is about 12 minutes.

I am OK with Race B and the minor fuel saving... I got a bit surprised on penultimate lap.

I hope this is not a PD accident. It is a good way to mix things up a bit.

Anyone have a suggestion for @Leon Kowalski in an AT car. Supra is a bad choice as it is a natural short shift car. Suggest maybe a Beetle but I have not tried.

Thanks.

I use the 911, it's good on fuel. Two or three half laps (middle section) on FM2, rest FM1.

Unfortunately it's slow... Managed a second place in a DR C lobby. Was able to overtake the leader, but he wasn't happy, caught up easily, and punted me off the track in the next corner. The usual stuff... :)

They need to be advertising it on the main page like they do when there's new cars etc. or the used cars gets a 'hot' car. I think if you're unfamiliar with Sport mode and not a player likely to come looking on forums like this you may be unaware these world series events are happening or that there's new races every week.

If they make an effort to get more players in (and sort out some of the connection issues that have likely pushed some away) they might feel its worth adding 1 or 2 extra races as well.

PD should be thinking about once players finish the current menu's, Sport mode should be where they are led to next to use all the skills they've learned in competition.

It's so refreshing to see a Race A that isn't just a BoP one-make. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Seems anything 4WD is the meta. I've been seeing Subarus, Evos, Yarises, Deltas, Focus RSes and bizarrely, a whole load of Raptors and Tundras. Who knew the trucks could be so competitive?! 😂
I joined the 4WD crowd - whipped out my Willy this morning, slapped it down on the grid in 5th. Not a big player base that early, let’s just say a wide spread of abilities.

So FM2 whole race in B with Beetle is nowhere near enough to finish. Barely got over the finish line running on fumes, lost 5 places. Next attempt FM3 so we'll see.
I tried the Beetle in Race B. It required short shifting throughout the race. The Supra is at least 1 second per lap faster in race trim and its natural short shift points saves fuel and still provides top performance.

Acted a fool this morning (EST)

I hope you know it yourself, your driving style was not that of a fool, but for me at least... in the highest form unsportsmanlike and by no means OK. You make countless mistakes, use up your tires in a very short time, making even more driving mistakes and making other drivers suffer by blocking them, pushing them off the track and so on.
I hope that you don't usually drive like this, but if you do, I feel sorry for everyone who is in a race with you.

Please finish the race fairly if you notice that you cannot cope with the car/on the track/with the requirements etc. Stay away from other drivers, dodge them and leave the racing line. Everything else is simply not sporty compared to the other drivers.

Is anyone else experiencing an increased number of glitches and hangs this week? Race C is nigh on unplayable at the moment. Every race takes 10 minutes to start.

I had that extremely last week, especially towards the weekend.
There were ~2 out of 5 races between 5 and 15 minutes.. really annoying.
In one race we were down to 3 riders when it started.

Managed a mid 45 in the radical for race a. This is a fun car to drive and a fun race. I've seen everything from tundra to mini.b insane. I even managed to win a race.
I've had some good races with 3 podiums and one win with the good old EVO 98. Qualification time also mid 45, as far as I remember. It's a bit slow on the straights, but turns into the corners beautifully (and a bit slidy, which seems to fit my driving style).

Such a fun range of vehicles this is exactly what I imagined when they were bringing tuning back.

I'll probably have to wait to the weekend to race I hope there's not an overwhelming meta by that time.

Drivers like this guy is what makes the game not fun. Hope I never am in a lobby with him.
