I am at 2:20.5 in the GTR(450th in the world as of tuesday Am!) , but I am at 2:21.6 in the RCZ, and 2:21.1 in the Viper.

The RCZ is the current "muscle" car amongst the FWD and it make that double left before the final right very easy to get right. I suspect some people would really love it on this track. If you can always finish a turn in a GTR's draft you have more options to pass in the turns.
Awesome time man, I’m still at 2.23 and slowly chipping away at it in the gtr. Usually it goes like this for me, come the weekend I’ll be a little more competitive and hopefully win a few, last weeks race was tough and this one is equally challenging!

Really not a very good car at all unfortunately, as I think they're amazing little things in real life.
The way BOP is set right now, the FF cars should be a group for themselves. I could imagine some nice racing action in dailies between the TT, the Scirocco, the Swift, and... umm...at least on smaller circuits.

I was actually faster last week at Nurburgring in the Scirocco than the GTR. I was at 7:07 in the scirocco and only 7:10 in the GTR. This was honestly about 20 qualy laps in each and I know the track really well.

TT was nerfed after Kyoto they took 10hp from it. seemed crazy since it was just once track where it was "best"

I’m not going near Monza with a barge pole this week so onto race B. My first ever time at st croix. So this evening was solely dedicated to getting to know it then setting a time. I don’t enjoy learning new tracks, I get frustrated and it’s time consuming for me but got there in the end. I fluked a 2.19.6, which included hitting the wall on the last turn, a lap I haven’t got anywhere close to again so I think that’ll have to do me for the week.
If there ever was a week for PD to abandon the hard tyre obsession, this was it. Both races would be much more fun with softer compounds but regardless will be racing tomorrow. A little apprehensive as most my TT laps end up with me understeering into the wall.

Traction Control is death for this week's Monza quali times, even at 1. After some early spinning without it, I managed to absolutely smash my best time by 0.6 and still more to come. Wow.

The daily adventure
So I get some time today to play and I do some qualifying practice laps get my time down before before I join a race . So I'm feeling pretty confident and I know how the beetle drives. Enter my first race of the day as a B/C DR starting in the middle of the pack not a good place to be I get the shift timed right with the start and off I go the Beetle is running strong and in the draft shift up to 7th gear hold tight on the long sweeping right I'm moving 280km the guy behind is 1.73 behind ok consideration on the chicane breaking great on the guy in fronts bumper under control then bang I'm hit from behind and punted into the guy in front of me getting a 3 sec penalty and dropping to 14th. well that was fun so I grind away slowly catching up. and wouldn't ya know P13 want to fight for position. fuker almost stops on every turn and wants run me wide but I get by knowing the Beetle will haul in the corners. I somehow make my way back up to 8th and wouldn't ya know I'm behind the guy that punted me and he appears not to have learnt to drive and takes out P7 in front of him unluckily for me P6 also spins P8 hits the breaks and I go zooming buy into a 3 second penalty passing under yellow flag well thank you very much I exited at that point with a drop to C Dr and a D Sr I guess I have some work to do

Your comment is very relatable and feel the frustration ha, the minority out there who do those things I think are less for me as I’m sitting in B/B, I stick to the daily B, don’t think I’ve ever raced an A or C lol, I don’t have a great deal of time, maybe an hour a day, so a short sprint with a decent car is my bag and want to thoroughly learn those tracks - by the weekend I’m top 5

Yeah I found this as well. I was doing quali without it then turning it on 1 during race because when I inevitably get punted, it reduced the chances of a minor punt turning into full spin. Lol. But I noticed it kicking in excessively literally on every corner of monza, I tried to run quali with it on to see how bad it was, and it was adding around 0.7-1 sec a lap for me. Ihave since changed to switching it on and off mid race, basically only turning it on if someone is within punt distance going into the chicane

Race C is so incredibly boring, only did 2 races but i was genuinely struggling to stay awake, so looks like it's race b for me, interesting track and i'm fairly good in the GTR (set a 2.20.2) but i really wish it wasn't a one make race. And a 4 lap race would of been better as well.

Having been a bit too ill recently to race this was a genuinely nice (if a week or so early) surprise to return to

Apparently Luca baked the cake, it's the little things

So after getting 2nd in Race B last night with the Ferrari I decided to give the GT-R a try. It wasn’t treating me well the first couple days, but something clicked this morning and I’m down to 2:20.791. So now I guess I’m going to have to join the generic army of meta-cars.

But I’ll still have some fun with it:

I'm not familiar at all with this layout of St.Croix, or with the circuit generally and way off the pace at 2.24 at the moment. Waiting for a race to start, assuming I'm at the back. The turns are so wide it's very easy to make a mistake with your line here and not know until it's too late and you've borked the exit.

So I played around in Race B for a couple more rounds tonight. Dropped my QT to a 21.2 , but was starting mid pack both races. First race the poor sucker in the Genesis ahead missed a gear at the start and I'm up a spot before the start finish line. Kept catching the GT-Rs up ahead while running my lonely WRX. And they kept bouncing off of walls or pushing each other wide. Went from p11 to p7.

Second race I start p8, and gain when someone wrecks at the bridge, then 2 guys wreck each other out in the sweepers. Run down the front 4 and I'm up to p4 after 1 guy messes up the entry to the back straight, but he sends it too deep while re-passing me at the entrance to the last sweeping section, and then p3 spins out from wheels on the curbs so finish p3. Pretty much a GT-R 1 make from the leaderboards, but people can't seem to keep it together for 3 laps and I'm laughing all the way to the finish.

Decided to play with qually a bit and now have a 20.8 in the scooby. I do enjoy the challenge there as it's wide open, but you really have to take a few blind corners on faith for turn in and exit lines.

As of this evening, my Monza quali time was top 250... sitting pretty at 249. I checked an hour later and it dropped to 258. I am sure it'll drop more as the week goes on... especially since I don't plan on doing any Cs this week. I actually did one on my second account in the Ford LM II and it was going okay... started 16th and made my way to 10th but got PIT maneuvered, ended up back to last, got bored and bailed.

Race B isn't too shabby this week... despite my disdain for the Gr4 cars. I still can't drive them for beans... understeery pieces of **** they are. Jumped on the main account and did like 10 laps of quali; best I could manage was a 20.6 before getting annoyed with it.

Jumped on the backup account and just did some races without qualifying; had mixed results. Sometimes I got smashed around and sometimes there were some decent races. My best finish was from P16 to P8. Just like last week's B, this needs to be another lap. Tried a bunch of different cars (never raced the GTR) and they go in this order: Mustang, Aston, Jag, Vette, Porsche, Viper.

It was actually a bit of fun. The Mustang turns in pretty good; as does the Jag but it's super slow on the straights. Anyway, ran into @Bullwinkle (not literally!) in the Ferrari so this was fun for a few seconds as we went side by side through the last couple of turns on the last lap.

I then made the same mistake I make every week: got tired of starting last and being pushed around so I decided to set a quali time in the Mustang. I did literally one lap and it went better than I wanted and I ended up with a 21.1 which is good enough to start in the top. Did one more race and won in front of a GTR that was ~1-2 back the whole race except the very end where he lost another second. I'll be doing more of these; still want to try the Ferrari, Lambo, and Silvia as well.

Felt pretty bad about this one as in the moment it felt like I shoved the guy off, especially as I went on to get a top 5 result.

Looking at the replay though I'm finding it hard to determine. From my POV he comes right across the track to get the outside line which I was entitled to, but from his it looks like I left a nose in and should have backed out, thoughts?

I wasn't looking to defend this particularly aggressively, I would have given the position if I felt I needed to I just didn't want to lose too much time on the outside going into this section.

My POV first:

I didn’t realize that was you! Which account was that? I probably said hello without realizing who I was taking to. . .

And definitely try the Ferrari. It’s fun to red line, and it keeps pace with the GT-R bit requires different inputs. I like the Porsche too, but it’s a sloth on the straights.

Didn't recognize the name from the Nurb GP a few weeks ago, eh?

I'm sure we'll be in the same lobby again at some point.

What? Since when has this been a thing? My birthday was in May and I don’t remember seeing this.
Happy Birthday pal 🎂
Something PD implemented in an update. Don't recall which, but you get something for your birthday so long as you long in within a week before or after your actual birthday. I missed it, too, buy a couple of days. M'eh.

Hmmm…… so from watching your POV the first argy-bargy (left hander) is fine. You left them space and a bit of contact.
Then the crash. So looks to me like they closed the door on you and didnt leave you enough space on the inside. After the initial contact and them then sliding back across you, if you had left your foot in, both of you might have just carried on but I think the slight lift off the throttle let your front wing touch there rear wing and that caused them to spin, but that’s not your fault. Your just doing what any racer would do in that situation. For me the blame lies on the other driver.

Now this were things are different, from the other drivers POV. First corner still fine, just a little coming together, but the right hander plays different for me. From that view I can see why the driver moved across as it appears they have the corner and your behind. As you appear in shot your car looks like it’s just level with the rear bumper and as you can see you just clip the rear sending him into slide. Without seeing the radar, the driver infront should have still given you some space on the inside.

My overall opinion is racing incident, but they take the blame and you did nothing wrong.

Yea, dumbass like me had to learn it a hard way few races by not turning on TC for the race thinking oh, I’m gonna be so fast now until you get punted in first chicane and you can’t get stop spinning for 25s. I‘m so not thinking sometimes. That last sentence you said is the 🔑 but only now I realize it after being punted in 3 races straight. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Funny thing is, last night I was matched with half the grid in A+, top Italian was 15th or something on 🌎 list with 36.5. Crazy. I was 14th maybe at the start, punted in first chicane, lost 20+s, dead last, but out of spite (we call it inat here in Balkans) continued the race and finished 10th or 11th, can’t remember now, just by watching others crash&burn and rage quit 🤣. It was so delicious.

Ok, that's what I thought. I originally thought it was you, but several people like to use that nickname so I check the username to see who it is, but your username didn't ring a bell this time around! Hah! Just make sure you smack me and remind me it's you next time!

My opinion on this incident is 100% based on which video I am watching.

It was a bit bold of him to come back over to the right like that in an attempt to line up that next left. IMO, he should've been a little more careful there and not assumed you weren't there, especially since you two we just going side-by-side.* However, if he was clear of you at the time (was he?), which he looked to be, then maybe you should've backed out. If he wasn't clear, 100% on him.

Had you hit his rear bumper, it'd been pretty clear. But, the fact it was fender-to-fender means he should've been driving smarter. I decree 51% to 49% blame goes to the trailing car; regardless, racing incident, no penalty.

*This is why the radar needs to be better, and not optional to have on the HUD.

True, it is a pretty common one. Maybe I'll make things more confusing and change it.

I'm not fast, but I finally caved and switched to the Supra for race C. Did a couple quali laps in it and dropped under 1:40 for the first time. Guess that'll be the way to go now.

It is just ridiculous. I can only use a few Group 3 cars because even TC1 is completely brutal, the time loss is just beyond bad. No idea WHAT they are doing with the TC settings.

This would be better if Sarah jumped out of the cake like in Under Siege, just sayin'.

His fault, his fault, his fault. Even if he did clear you, no way he should cut across like that, asking to be rear ended. Garbage racing, you're being way too hard on yourself.
