Oh okay. Well thx for the suggestion. I can practice the gr3 cup race then in a riskfree environment, still have not done that in GT mode. Not used to using tcs, tcs 0 for me all the time. Tcs can feel unpredictable, but practice ought to sort it out.

I think it is either tcs 0 or 1 then.. Don't want to change mid-race in any case.

That or setup changes, make the car less oversteery in a separate race setup 🤔 I lost in total 2,5-3 sec the last 3 laps, comparing to first 7 laps yesterday.
If you drive like tc is off it will rarely kick in anyway, it’s a nice safety net to have in race. The tight left before the straight it will kick in every time though so sometimes I will turn it off for that one corner

Why would SR decrease because if you can't race? That doesn't make any sense to me.

A disconnect after joining the lobby is viewed by the game as you quitting the race. The game can’t tell the difference between a DC and you viewing the lobby, deciding it’s too fast and quitting out. That way people can’t cherry pick lobbies for points.

Me neither bud, I knew my DR would take a hit, but was shocked last night when I looked at my stats in game and saw my SR FUBAR too. 😑

I don't think it's right at all that our DR or SR should take such massive hits for simply being disconnected either before during or after race.

Yup it's annoying as heck.

The only thing I can add is if the background sound from warm up lobby is still playing on the splash screen it never seems to connect no matter how long you wait. If it goes silent and the loading spinny thing (sorry for using technical terms 😉) is still spinning it will connect eventually though it may take so long that you may only have a couple of folks racing with you and you will probably miss the window to join the next race.

Hope this is a priority fix

Yeah one weird one the other night when It did connect me at Nürburgring GP : the 'Warm Up' took ages to be able to enter (button not functioning) then once it started we were just driving around in a perpetual warm up session without a race start.
People were leaving after about 15 mins of warm up session, and race never started.

@Pigems I got an even quicker method. Just search for a pro racer tune on youtube and copy the settings. For those who really can’t be bothered to tinker with all that. Worked great for me, I found setups for the Mini (Race A) and the R8 (Race C). When you’ve got limited time to race, you want to enjoy your time as much as possible.

@BenRod where are you man ? 😂 I did a couple of races A and didn’t see you one time. The legend of Race A has not yet arrived ?
I did Race A twice yesterday. In both, wackylat was starting 1st and celery starting last with me 10th and 8th... finished 6th then 5th. Some fiddlin' with my tune will help, especially for qualifying.

Anyway... LEAVE ME ALONE! I'm on "vacation"! ;)

I'm quite enjoying the single-player, grinding along at a leisurely pace.
I find myself wasting chunks of time just listening to the music between activities.
I've always been a nerd for GT menu music... some of the new stuff is mesmerizingly good.

I'll get in there this afternoon, promise.

I think a lot of accidents are happening because people are adjusting fuel mix and get distracted and also don’t have a radar on screen.
I outbraked myself at turn 1 while playing with the fuel mix. Such a pain on the controller, as you can't steer and play with the MFD at the same time. I had a go at holding the left stick steady with my right thumb on the banking, but only dare do that when there is no one around.

Also, has anybody got a handle on exactly what the track limits are at each of the 4 curbs of the bus stop? I'm trying to keep 2 wheels on the black stuff at the first 3, then two wheels on the orange at the last one?

Good question the last one, not sure either, got my hands full there to keep Huracan aka devil😈 under control. Last kerb you can go full car on it that I do know. Yeah that bus stop chicane is taking some prisoners this week, even in higher rated lobbies 😅

Might try to abuse the kerbs there more, once I switch to testing RX-Vision. But first some menu books and money grinding. Buying a One-77 soon, a duplicate Huayra too. I think I leave the Vulcan at the store. If I want a track toy, I prefer Zonda R, which is not a brand invitational car.

Yeah luck has been on my side at the roulette 😎 I also have received 500K and a 787B engine, can be used for FD RX-7 at least 🏁

On the wheel it's obviously better, but good lord is it still a pain on that (I have the G29). It even has the rotary wheel so it's not hard to change once I'm there but to just flip through the MFD while you're on crucial sections of the oval is so ridiculous. At least put the fuel, TCS, BB, Radar in customizable positions. It's all a bit ridiculous.

The HUD and function mapping needs an overhaul in general, but we've all discussed that ad nauseum by now. Turning on my wipers is cute and all, but I'd love that return button to do something more functional. Same with blinkers, which by the way, why can I control my blinkers but not anything else on my wheel ;)

FYI for anyone on PS4/PS4 Pro having issues joining daily races; I mentioned yesterday that it completely freezes at race intro screen and forces you close application.
Be warned, because of that my SR has dropped from S to A.....and probably untold damage to DR.
Don't suppose PD will 'reimburse' that.
Yes, my SR went from S to B! Fortunately, as I managed to get into every race yesterday SR is now back to S.

Map MFD up & down to L1 & R1 and leave MFD on fuel. It's much easier to change on the fly and you don't need to take your thumb off the steering wheel ... um stick. It's a bit of a pain that you lose the radar but you can change to a view with a rear view mirror to compensate if needed.

I am still trying to figure the bus stop chicane out and pick up 0.5 - 1.0 penalties every few races through that part of the track even though I am not abusing curbs too much. Yet I see folk drive across grass and no penalty. The heck is that nonsense

Care to share where you sourced that tune from? :) Might try Race A out tonight for a bit of a change.

On the fuel/radar issue, it wouldn't be so bad if they were next to each other. We all know where we are going so the track map is irrelevant and takes extra presses, which are already hard enough.
I must look drunk moving about on the banked section trying to use by braking finger like a claw to come around and use the D-pad.

I personally use the right stick for MFD controls, with L1 as a rear view (just as an alternative option)
That sounds like a pretty good alternative - I might give that a shot. Hopefully I can just swap the mapping of the right stick and the D-pad stuff.

My best result so far with the Dodge Viper (stock)
Gran Turismo® 7_20220316032113.jpg

That's after surviving coming out the back which is very dirty, much worse than GT Sport from the back.

It took a couple attempts to get a decent result. My previous best was 7th. However I was in 6th in lap 3 before getting dive bombed, left stuck beside the road and dropped to 14th, losing over 15 seconds in the process. Of course the dive bomber got no penalty. I did see him again after the pit when he got the 3 sec line cross penalty, got in a fight with another car an took himself out. It's so bad people with a penalty try to force you into the wall right before the penalty zone.

I got some crazy penalties as well, this one after trying to bring up the fuel display and missing my brake point in T1
Gran Turismo® 7_20220316013445.jpg

Into the wall, car damaged + 41 sec penalty on top. Nvm that race.

In another one the game confused me with the bugs in split times. Why are the split times all blue with + values. This time it even showed the purple and the blue, while I had a slower lap. So i blew by my brake point again, managed to not hit the wall but got reset anyway and
Gran Turismo® 7_20220316021014.jpg

The good thing about a long penalty in lap 4, the penalty time keeps counting down in the pits  I pitted with nearly 40 sec of penalty left, gone when I got out of the pit. So if you get nailed in lap 4, short cut the bus top as well!

I got one other penalty for getting rammed by a track re-entry that came from out of view and off radar. I didn't see it coming, rammed and have a 3 sec penalty for colliding with another car. Still the same old ********.

4th place was only worth 15K, it will take forever to get another GR.3 car by doing online races...

Before going to sport mode I did a 3h endurance race on N24 with 8x time, 8x tire wear, 4x fuel rate. I added cars from my garage to race against on pro AI difficulty. I finished 2nd, TS050 2 laps ahead, but somehow I lapped the GR.2 car in the Lexus who gave up halfway through. The rest was all further behind including the GR.3 cars. And for 3h of racing:

Prize money is reset to beginner level if you make your own line-up :banghead: Although it's only double if you leave it on random.

Despite having dynamic random weather on for the whole race, not a single drop of rain. I understand it doesn't rain every day, but this is a game, let me choose what kind of dynamic weather. No options for chance of rain, either you leave it random or you program the weather in stages. The weather did change, a bit of haze during the day, clouds changing. It looked like it could rain for a bit but didn't. A little fog into the night and a lot less grip when the track cooled down. A lot less. Maybe that's why the GR.2 car slowed down, the track felt completely different at night and in the morning.

Next time, x3 fuel rate as x4 is pit every other lap. A bit much. Plus faster refueling rate, the default takes over a minute for a pit stop filling up the car. And program the weather to actually get rain and a nicer finish. The race ended in overcast solid grey weather conditions. The most boring weather imaginable lol. No sunrise. The sunset was very nice and the night very dark.

Oh and for all that I got the daily workout ticket, and won 2K! I'm going to splurge on a comfort tire now 💩 The only way to get some money in this game is that annoying rally race sigh.

I noticed in several of my races that the lap time display in the centre of the screen stays red after a pitstop, like when you are on an invalidated lap.
Yep that as well. Ugly red time all second half of the race. I have no clue how so many bugs got into a working mode from GT Sport. Resets and ghosting are very wonky as well. Lag was also pretty bad last night. It's like the server is far away, not the same as GT Sport uses. I get 5 bars on GT Sport, only 3 on GT7 and most cars wobble about a lot. GT Sport is much more stable.

Interesting, besides those red timer issues after pits, I have been having no issues on PS4 GT7 daily races, done 2 last week and 2 this week so far. Other than the loading screen times that are a bit too long imo.

And here I thought the penalty system is fine lol 😅 Well at least for contacts it may give you or then not. Better than nothing at least. Did not give me any for a slight touch to rear end. But when I punted by accident someone wide, I received a 3 sec penalty 🙈😅

I got that same 41 sec penalty after I went wide in the first turn :/ ruined my night :P

Is anyone else suffering very poor results at Daytona? In every race, I start in the front half and finish in the back. Sometimes I get screwed over early by someone blatantly dirty and other times, I wreck myself.

But I'm having a really fun time. I don't even care. But I have to figure out the final turn out of the infield. It's my one weakness and it's so bad I'm actually holding people up there.

It penalizes people who quit. I know you guys didn't quit on purpose, but the game can't tell that the servers are screwing up. It just knows you were entered, and left before you finished, which is bad sportsmanship, so it penalized you.

Oh no PD, not again..

Look at the replays of drivers in top10, daily race c. WTH is going on? No penalty for cutting bus stop chicane. None, nada, nolla 🇫🇮

Yeah, boycotting Daily C rest of the week. Might attempt hotlapping a legit way with a few cars but that is it.

Thankfully I managed to have good racing yesterday, before the cheating. There is big potential in this game, but these bugs and glitches have to be fixed first..🙄

The one where you turn left onto the long straight? Before the turn there's like a service road or something coming off the right side of the track, you want to brake when you're about halfway past that, about a third of way if you're on a full tank. Turn in as early as you can so once you hit the apex you can open up the steering as soon as possible and get good traction,. It's one of those corners where it's much better to be too early with your braking than it is to be late.
Hope that helps!

Damn, and I thought what I was doing there was iffy.

Yeah it is not the players fault imo. It is good that the players exploit these type of things so that they get fixed. This is just a game at the end of the day so no massive harm done. Uploading a clip on youtube now.. Sharing it soon.

Unbelievable and very dissappointing that GT7 allows this..

I was just cutting to the left of the final curb of the chicane during races, mostly by accident. This is next level but if the issue is a simple as bypassing the penalty by never re-entering the track, then hopefully the solution is simple.

Its to stop people from quiting the race. It sucks when it happens because of disconnects or some error but otherwise people would just quit the game or shut down their PS to prevent loss.

I find it absolutely baffling that PD didn’t impose an auto-reset to stop this. Resetting anyone that cuts a massive chunk of the grass will stop this.
