I believe so. I've been testing some different ones. There really aren't many cars that are capable of meeting the regulations.
A lot of the ones that I thought would be good, just can't make the minimum weight (1300 kg/2866lbs)
You know how much weight you can pile in the bed of a supercharged pickup truck?!

This afternoon, I finally got a time of 1:49.xxx for Daily Race A, but that still doesn't even put me in the top 4,000, so I think I'm gonna skip this one. Seems that the top times are about four or five whole seconds faster than my best, so I'll just see what tomorrow's refresh brings.

EDIT: Yeah, I just saw the regulations for next week's Daily Race A. I'm legit excited to try it out!

What a surprisingly good evening. Opened a lobby to get some practice in for next weeks daily b, had no intention of running any races but my lobby got full fairly quickly so ran about half a dozen races and it was great fun. The race started EVERY time i pressed start, no red x stuff needed. So might do this every Sunday. As for what car was being used etc......there was a wide variety very few folk got into the sub 2mins in race, one guy in Alfa managed it, and me and another in GTR did it. But to my TOTAL surprise the Vanatge & the Citroen (which i drove just for a laugh) both got into 2.00's. So crossed fingers I'm right and a much wider range of cars will be competitive.....

per @nenkaai ...

Daily Races for next week (19/09/2022):
A - Monza No Chicane / Any Road Car <450 PS, >1300kg (5 Laps, 1x Tyre/Fuel, SS) - DR/SR back off
B - Trial Mt. / Gr.4 (5 Laps, 1x Tyre/Fuel, RM)
C - Daytona Road Course / Gr.3 (10 Laps, 9x Tyre, 1x Fuel, RH + RM mandatory)

can you believe it? a sprint race with medium tires???

and i reallllly do not understand switching A back and forth on ranked/unranked. the only real indicators are above the race, where it says 'no updates for sr / dr', but i can't imagine thats something every user reads every time.
As I’m only ever doing race B’s, I’m happy with this, had a blast in the beetle at Austria last week, looks like it will be gtr or Alfa this week!

Top 30 in the world baby 😎

Yes it's only been open 5 minutes, what of it!

(It's incredible how fast people jump on this and set times within seconds of the race opening)

Here's my okay lap and tune in the 2013 Viper for Race A.

I don't know the meta yet, some ahead of me use full downforce while I use minimum. Being close to first with a lot of time to gain at one of my worst tracks makes me confident that I have the meta. The tune is more of a theme for now since all I know for sure is put ballast in the back

Can someone announce what the races are please instead of boasting about their leaderboard ranking within 5 minutes of the races being open?

Race C, which I was most interested in, looks to be a Supra fest going by the quali leaderboard. Might be an F1 22 week for me.

Thanks for posting.

Will Race A still be exploitable via dodgy tunes? Have PD addressed this?

B and C for me. I love Trial Mountain and on the face of it there is a little strategy in Race C.

With Race A being horsepower and weight restricted, the suspension can be tuned however you want.

Done a few of race c this morning.
Supra fest with a few mustangs thrown in.
Definitely abit of strategy on this one which I messed up in my second race.

Will be a good one to grind this week I think. Race A never appeals to me and I’ll give B a go this afternoon

I'm really like the idea of Race A being a open tune slot, just wishing for no exploits
My gripe with Race A is these exploits and also actually knowing what your doing with tuning set ups.
I have a basic understanding of tuning, but I also dont have the patience to be making adjustments and then going back out on track to test it.
Also the exploits just destroys these races. Unrealistic mods that irl would destroy the car or would make the car undriveable

It’s full of lemmings following the leader. There are other, equally strong options. The Mustang, Jag and AMG are all competitive.
I might go for the GT LM Spec whatever. Last time there was a Suprafest, it was competitive enough for me.

Yeah those 2 and wrx ladt time around on this circuit.

I played earlier online for 1st time in a couple of months. Turn 2 at RBR, 1st race back, idiot just moved right across me as we accelerated away. Smashed me into wall. Somehow damaged front at rear. Race over. Is this typical now in the dailies? If so, I'll stick to racing v the cpu.

My dream for GT multiplayer is using the single player races as events for multiplayer with similar limitations.
Only 4wd cars
Only turbos
Japanese classics
Euro Sports cars and so on.
Maybe a good compromise is letting aftermarket parts in the car but tuning locked

Oh come on. The folks at PD can't be happy about how these daily races are going, can they? Okay, time for my weekly rant...

First, the positives: Seems that I've finally managed the switch to MT. I did some qualifying laps for Race B, and as I still refuse to take the Alfa, I tried the G70 instead. I highly recommend that car for everyone who doesn't want to drive one of the METAs. It's easy to drive, and the gearing fits the track well, except the exit from the chicane, where I hit the limiter in second gear more often than not. Did a 1:59:5 in the end, which I'm quite happy with. And I don't think I could have done a sub 2:00 with AT.

But then... I tried a race. Went on my second account (low B/S) to check out what it's like because...reasons.

I did a qualifying lap and found myself in P2 in a race with, of course, twelve Alfas and some random other cars. The polesitter had a disconnect, and so I started on pole, unexpectedly. Then, as usual: P2 rams me into the wall in the lefthander before the backstraight. Okay, maybe partly my own fault, because I took sector one a bit too cautiously, so that he was able to sneak up to below 0.7 seconds, which means: within divebomb distance. He couldn't resist, I saw it coming, but I had nowhere to go. Massive damage on my car, and at the end of the back straight, I've fallen back to P6. Nevermind, I thought, let's win back some positions at least. And then another What-The-Eff moment: I'm catching up to P5, and on the uphill section before the first tunnel he totally loses it, starts spinning, slides onto the grass, touches the wall and flies back onto the track sideways right across my lane. Okay, he gets ghosted, right? Nope. We collide, I get heavy damage, and to rub it in: a freaking 5 second penalty! Holy ****. First instance for a long time that I actually rage-quit a race.

I'll stay with time trials and offline stuff for the foreseeable future.

GT6 had this - it was called Quick Match. Never did much of them back when the servers were still up, but they sure seemed like fun.

Man I struggled at red bull ring even though I didn't touch race c until Sunday. I got to 1:29.02 and kept starting in the back. My ratings are A+ S and I was getting paired up with people in my rank and most them were in the 1:27s and 28s.

As for this week daily races they look like fun. All 3 actually which is rare.

Feel you mate, I tried a Race A earlier and while it looks great on paper, no penalties at Monza was just a barge fest. Getting shoved off on the straights and into the pit wall right off the start line.

I've raced online long enough to know you have to accept this to some level, but it definitely feels lie the overall sportsmanship has dropped considerably over the last month or so.

I'd love to get back into the game racing consistently but these kinds of experiences are getting way too common.
