GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

I am Not sure, where do we download the newer versions if we have previously purchased the calculator? From the website, or do you send out an email with link?

Hey Winnipopper5,

When you purchase the calculator you should fill in your email address, you will then get email with every update that is released, if you did not input your email address when you purchased, send me your email address and order number privately and I’ll see if I can amend the system.

Hello there,

Just bought your amazing work, everything seems to be OK except for the Aventador 750, I have some weird results for the gears out of the range. Did I forget something ?

Also, there are 2 RPM @ max power, the one you can found in car selection and another one when changing gears ratio, which one should we put ?

Thanks again ! This is the perfect tool for a casual driver like me

Have been using this calculator for 800pp tunes at Sardegna and Spa. Really liking how stable the tunes are.

However, have noticed that the calculator is outputing spring freq values below what the game allows for race cars with low downforce. Two examples are the Ferrari FXXK and the Chaparral 2J (there are probably a bunch more like them in the game).

Both cars have fixed downforce figures that can't be changed and the calculator is outputing spring freq values below 3.

Is this something you have to fix on a case by case basis (I imagine you wouldn't want any change to throw the values for other cars out of range)? Because I wonder if there's any benefit to including upper and lower bounds that we can input to force values to stay within a certain range.

Hey Techlet,

I have got this fixed in V1.5.

V1.5 is almost there! We are just testing the LSD settings are working as they should

The following features and fixes are included;

New features
• LSD ratio calculator added
• Search box added (to locate your car selection easier)

Fixes
• Historic Race cars (spring frequencies out of range with minimal downforce)
• cars missing from list
1500 Biposto Bertone B.A.T 1 '52
155 2.5 V6 TI '93
180SX Type X '96
1932 Ford Roadster Hot Rod

V1.5 is now live! Download it now and leave me some feedback when you can!

Hey,

I just recently bought this calculator and it has been great! However, today I downloaded the latest version of your calculator (V1.5) and now I am facing a problem with the search function. I can't access the drop-down list, nor can I find any vehicles in this new version other than the default one. Not sure what is causing this, it worked fine in the older versions.

This was a request that I was dubious in implementing. It is a little confusing. I think if you delete the input that is typed in the drop down cell, it will then reset to the full list. I will see if I can streamline this somehow. Please let me know if this works once you delete the input.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists. I have attached a screenshot of what's happening.

Ahh crickey, I see what’s happened, I’ve managed to lose the drop-down tab at the right hand side… or not…. Not sure what the problem is here. Has anyone else had this issue?

This works fine on my end. Delete the search in the cell and then click the drop down. All the cars appear…
I tried everything, but nothing seems to work...pressing on the drop-down isn't doing anything for me. At most, I get the prompt which can be seen in the screenshot I previously sent. Currently, the tool is unusable for me.

Make sure you empty the search/car cell. It can be a bit fickle and go back to the car that was selected before when you try to delete it. Make sure you clear and and it stays clear when you select another cell, then the car list will appear in the dropdown.

YMMV, but over here it deletes much better with the "Delete" button vs "Backspace". If I try to delete with Backspace it'll go back to what was there when I hit "Enter" or select another cell but with "Delete" it seems to stick better. Erasing by overwriting with a single space instead of a backspace also sticks better.

Maybe a "Clear Search" button would make it more convenient.

I tried that but in vain. However, interestingly the sheet seems to be working perfectly fine on my smartphone. No idea why it's not working on my Laptop. Better than nothing I guess.

This is an option however I have tried to avoid using any developer tools as this would mean a macro enabled workbook, not keen on this as this may cause compatibility issues.

Would a separate search cell be a more user friendly option?

I’m eager to hear the comments about the LSD ratio calculator. It should be interesting as this is has always been a topic that has caused some controversy!

I used the calc to setup my stock 502hp R18 ‘16 and completed the Gr.1 championship. The Suzuka race was quiet demanding but the car was balanced and performed well under all conditions. The IM tyres wore at a steady rate even on the drying track. I was able to win 1st place with a 35 second lead.

First, whats the password? :P

There's a typo on the first page where you say 'dirst' instead of 'first'.

Can we select a track and have it set the gear ratio appropriately?

What about turbo upgrades? That can have an effect on the transmission needs as well as how a car handles. While HP and Weight reductions could be considered a linear improvement based on easy numbers, the turbos have a differing effect as to when they engage and reach full power. Maybe add an option to select a Low/Mid/High RPM turbo and have the numbers calculate appropriately? Not sure if thats possible(?)

A wide body kit may help you get away with a little more oversteer or higher HP, maybe something to try later on?

Looks nice though, excellent work. I'll give it a whirl after I re-tune my NSX '02 myself, then I'll compare it with this (bone stock performance).

Hi Jerome,

Thanks for the initial comments, I see the typo I will get this changed, thanks.

Password, hmmm 🤔, I forgot sorry 😂. If you want to know more about the mechanics/maths of the calculators please ask questions and I’ll be happy to answer as openly as I can.

Turbo upgrades would affect the rev range for sure, this is where you have max power rpm and max torque rpm. I would suggest giving it a test trial and see what you think after that. If I’ve misunderstood your comment please let me know.

Not sure what you mean by the wide body kit. This would purely be down to the driver to fine tune the alignment and ARBs to suit. I may add these Calcs in at a later date.

Hope you find it useful.

Cool, any chance on selecting a track and it auto-tuning the transmission? I'm currently with a rig atm as my motion sim is delayed in Tennessee. But I will try this out fo sho :)

Jerome

I would love to implement that, however that would be a lot of work and a lot of testing, I’ll keep it mind though.

Hi,
Yes I have the problem too. the dropdown menus don't work. Not when choosing a vehicle and not when switching from mph to kmh.

Same here using Office 2016. The car selection drop down doesn't work.

Clearing the cell doesn't bring back the full list.

Where’s the rest of the sheet?
I clipped the screenshots for space but the rest of the values are also unchanged when toggling between kg and lb.

The unit toggles for gear and LSD ratios seem to be working fine (although should torque in nm and in ft/lb produce the same LSD values?).
