GT7 Tuning Calculator - Download v3.3 all new cars added!!

Hi mate,

What do mean about gear ratios not matching up with in game values?
I'm not at home atm so can't show you, but the ratio values don't match the speeds (it's not a mph/kph thing). I've been matching the kph numbers given.

It could just be me, I'll try and see if I get different figures when I get home tonight.

Ahh you mean the speed for each gear? That would be because the speed in game would be the maximum at full redline I believe, where as my calculator would be the optimum shifting speed.

Ahhhhh that makes sense now. So you would set your gearing to have the calculator figures be where you're shifting at optimum power... so then put in some margin on top.

Is the calculator car specific?

For example, I’m trying to tune my Nissan R34 GTR but it’s not listed. Can I use the R35 or R33 or any other turbocharged AWD car for that matter?

Your right R34 is missing!!!

God knows what’s happened there I’ll have to sift through the lever ratio data and make sure I have them. I’ll let you if I can find them.

When I couldn’t find it in search I went through every single entry looking for it lol. The rest of the calculator has made every car I’ve tuned with it super stable so I can’t even complain.

Thank you.

I have developed a tuning calculator for gt7, spring rate, dampers, gear ratios and LSD setup are all automatically calculated. If you would like to download a copy please see bottom of this post Or in my signature.
Any questions are welcome. Please note all updates to this calculator are part of your initial purchase. Remember to sign up with your email to receive the latest updates when they are released. If we get enough supporters this will eventually migrate to an iOS and android app.

And for anyone interested in the equations: it takes into account suspension travel, force applied under load, lever ratio and without giving away too much the following formula is applied; K = Spring Rate in N/m.
1/2piSqrt(K/M)
It works on a table of every car in GT7 so that when a car is selected, the drivetrain type automatically is picked up for the un sprung weight calculation.

Give the free trial a go on the website, it’s obviously only part of the full downloadable premium version but it gives you a feel for it.

Hi, sorry you’re having difficulty in opening the file, it should be fairly straight forward. You download the zip file. Your computer should have unzip software built in, you just have to click on the zip file and open it. If you can’t do this and need more help, drop me a private message with your email address and I’ll send you a copy that’s already unpacked and ready to go.

Sorry if this is stupid question, but I note that with racing tyres the spring frequency always remain the same whatever value I put for weight ratio. 10% or 90% will give same numbers for racing tyres, but very different ones for comfort and sport. Is this expected behaviour? Tested on the 787 and Nismo GTR with v1.5

Not really sure what you mean here, if you change the weight distribution it will change the spring rates for all the tyres…

Yes it does now.. after I closed the sheet and reopened. Sorry for wasting your time, not sure what happened. It somehow started after showing me an error that workbook is protected after I clicked in a cell.

I probably more than anyone here can feel your pain, brother. Why do computers need to be so complicated??

Im trying to use this to adjust the LM55VGT (GR1) and the natural frequency is outside of what you can reach in game. I set all of the inputs correctly and it shows front spring rate of 7.2 and max in game is 5.0

Can you take a picture and post it so I can see what you’ve input and where the error is please?

I will re-input everything, after I saved the file it disappeared so I have to start from scratch

Reduce the stiffness. These VGT cars are all extremes of values and even stretch the laws of physics as we know it!
