You know, I know you're not a dirty driver mate. Personally I didn't really see any other incidents involving you apart from that but the other guys seem to have.

I also didn't see you do anything wrong or be overly aggressive it was just those two instances near the end.

I think everyone was a bit upset at at least one point, too. It's going to happen during a long race.

Yeah, spot on once again.

Both of you, Mule and Wardez are welcome to join us again; held yourselves really well on track all day 👍

I don't brag. I just have high expectations of myself. I know where my strengths are at, and I know where I suck. When something goes my way, I like to share it. That is not bragging.

And as for people admitting when they are wrong, then I'm still waiting for your acceptance of the early incident, after telling you twice I was inside of you.

Plus, and probably just as well, can't view any of your vid posts.

Any further problem with my Mule, then PM me and sort it out there.

I was waiting until I see the replay before I said anything about that. I still don't think I did anything wrong.

I told you, I'd try to be there for all the Ovals ;)

Well we're at Daytona next week so I'll see you there ;)

PM's to Joe and PM's to each other. Keep it outta the thread lads.

I don't think there's anything wrong with talking about incidents as long as we're civil about it. it's nice to get other peoples opinions, too.

I just got the feeling it was getting a bit sour, which is why I wasn't keen on you continuing discussing it. As long as you two don't have a massive argument and stay civil, be my guest.

Being as many as 3 laps down during the race and at least 1 lap down until lap 180 or somewhere in there I had a very different perspective. At a certain point I stopped trying to drive in the pack and just hung on at the end, running at about 80% throttle and just being patient, saving fuel, waiting for cautions and was slowly able to put myself in a position to get back on the lead lap.

My main concern in following the pack was not getting caught up in an accident, so I was watching pretty intently and would lift a bit when I saw smoke or weaving, which was almost every corner. I think that it was just down to the nature of running so close though, everyone flat out or lifting, and all those little reactions every single driver had to make in order to not crash into each other, it was really intense.

And a lot of fun :)

You did a great job getting back up there Frasier, good racing man 👍

There needs to be a higher top speed for the cars. When you can't draft past a guy on the outside of a corner because the top speed can nearly be ran without a lead draft, you're basically forcing everyone to defend the bottom and barely draft past on the outside during the straights. Higher top speeds would mean bigger runs around the lead car, which would mean completing passes would be easier. It would also take longer for the former lead car to catch right back up and slingshot back by. The pack racing might not disappear, but it shouldn't be three rows deep of three-wide with nowhere to go, either.

I don't think there's any way we can eliminate pack racing with these cars. Too much downforce, even when minimized.

We'll alter the specifications for season 3 after testing.

The reason the transmission is what it is was not to encourage pack racing (that wasn't intentional), it was to give us lap times that mirrored the times set by the cars in real life. I think we can achieve what you describe by loosening the transmission restrictions slightly to enable higher speeds in the draft compared to solo but lowering the overall power in the car.

I agree and disagree. With higher speeds we'd be a lot more prone to crashes, but I like the idea.

I think the cars should be limited a bit more so they are just shy of the current top speed when in a slingshot.

Therefore we get similar top speeds and more overtakes. Also maybe less cautions as there would be a chance for a lead break.

If that's the drafting top speed you want, the solo speed had to come down about 6-10 mph.

I was thinking maybe 20mph.

I was just thinking, imagine if GT5 had a proper damage model. The cars would have been completely destroyed

Race preview up for next week.

Reminds me of when I'd play GT4 and have arcade mode races on the Test Course with the FGT and try to wreck the field

Sucks but will have to get over it, at least I surrvived long enough to be in the famous wreck that will forever go down in GTP history

Also I think I was at fault for some stuff, but dont think any of it was worth a penalty. :(
From what I saw if we give out pen's for everything not many people will have +points by the end

Pfft, speak for yourself ;)

I doubt many, if any penalties will be handed out due to the fact a lot of the stuff can go down as racing incidents.

I think if the crash on lap 175 goes down as a racing incident (which it was) then so should most of the others :)

Also this is massive longshot, Do I pick up any points still? :P

Of course, double points for the 500. Here's the unofficial top 7 without the laps lead points and any penalties for the 500 taken into account:

Joe - 289
Tom - 251
Knelly - 225
Bronco - 220
Indy - 197
neljack - 180
Matty - 173

I've pulled back about 30 points on Joe which is good.

Also added colour coding to the tables so you can see race winners and your drop races, will be in the next tables update :)

EDIT: Which shows me I'm the only person in the top 5 without a win :grumpy:
