I should be in the next batch of submissions if these darned w-2's would ever get here.I'll start off using the ol ds3 then try to beat my times with a wheel when it gets here.

@GTP_CargoRatt good job Mitch. I'm proud of you buddy!!

Thanks Brandon, that means a lot coming from who I consider my best friend here and my favorite person to compete with. Hopefully, and I know you will, be right there with me again so we can push each other up the rankings the rest of the way. Good luck to you in your efforts, look forward to the friendly little battles again.

I don't know if he can beat me pulling the "strong" off the AS and putting it back to "off" but he won't look at it that way. He'll be spitting bullets to try and get me, but that's what I'm here for. Like I've always told him "When he can hand me my rear end on a regular basis, I'll turn him loose on the world" (I don't have a big ego do I )

So we should add the times together and that is how we should look at?

Rats! I missed the deadline by 30 mins to send my replays in as work made me stick around later, :( guess ill have to wait 2-4 weeks to send my times in!

I won't do so well. my old job kept me away all the time and I could play from my truck. My new job is home every day and off on weekends. I'm only gonna be able to spend 4-6 hours on the qualifier and 2 hours a week on the actual events. I'll just be getting warmed up when its time to stop. Either way, I'll try my best and have a blast :)

So, does anyone know how to work out your handicaps? As a newcomer, I'm confused.

You don't work it out. I don't even know how. You just use it as a index which goes from 0 to 4.999. Outperform and it drops slowly over time like a moving average. Cross digit boundaries and you are considered for a promotion to a new division.

Right now it's a function of your qualifier times, soon it will be a function of not only that, but your performance in time trials. Stop participating and it stops moving. Participate and improve and your handicap will follow.

Basically Little cannot improve his time in the official qualifier.

The lap that was clean still stands, the dirty one needs to be redone. If the new lap is slower then the old one, the new and slower one counts.

But if the new one is faster then the old dirty one, the old and slower time still counts. That's the 'penalty' we set for submitting a dirty lap.

This doesn't mean he can't beat you though. If hes faster then you he basically beat you. But he just can't get a higher place in the registry then his initial submission, that's all. But competing in weekly races he'll get promoted and pass you nonetheless judging by his determination 👍:P

Can we get feedback from submissions. Wouldn't mind where i dropped those couple seconds, megane was my achilles, hate that car irl too.

Sorry but no, that's not allowed. As soon as you start participating in TT's and OLR's you'll get a whole bunch of tips and advice on running faster laps. Also, grabbing replays of the podium guys will show you how they ran....it's a great way to improve 👍

How can I see who is driving whith steering wheel or ds3? :) Thanks

In our weekly TT's your submitted times will be posted in a table (leaderboard) in real time (once you have posted it in the forum) that will also show if the individual was using a wheel or a DS3 ( as long as they have said what they are using)

Here's an example > here < look at the third column 👍

This is my first time doing anything like this so I had no expectations. Now I'm going to try my hardest to improve and get out of Div 4 gold. Roll on the first TT.

First time i've attempted anything like this. D2B, happy with that, especially as I rushed the times because I forgot about the deadline. Can't wait for the first challenge!

Sorry, should have picked this up on my reply above but you don't know what actual time you lost. Only our admin team will know the difference between the top time and your times. The number that you have been allocated in the registry is a handicap that anonymises the actual time you submitted but does give you a relative value to place you in the right spot.

This is probably more than you really needed to know but thought it was worth mentioning :)

I new that but i only had a couple cracks at it. At some points i was miles ahead of the ghost then at the end drop behind some how with frustating understeer. Brands may have been bad shifts causing spinning as my subbed time had me drifting round one corner due to the gradiant which every lap had me doing.

Neither was close to perfect as each time i hit the perfect marker but rarely had a 50% perfect lap.

Firstly, if you only had "a couple cracks at it" is that representative of how much effort you will be putting into the weekly TT events? It should be - that was a prerequisite of the qualifier.

Secondly, these were deliberately tricky combos chosen to test abilities with 2 opposing sorts of car handling skill. Most everybody struggled in some fashion, except those at the very top - D1G aliens.

Consistency and patience are what matters most when taking on TT challenges like this. You can set your best lap and have no fastest sectors in it at all - next lap you could be up 0.5 and lose it at the next corner. Thankfully, you're in exactly the right place and community to help you achieve that consistency. Participate regularly, patiently observe the laps and techniques of the fastest guys and watch the tenths drop away.
I had to resit willow springs as a touch of a cone. anyhow beat the time by 2 tenths but only just read that my submitted laptime wouldnt matter anyway as it would go off my slowest submission. i did however have a lap 6.5tenths faster than my time the moderators went off. So im quite happy to know im up to Div 1 Gold standard Anyway Div 1 Bronze is ok for me can always move up the ranks
Why would you submit a lap so far off what you could theoretically achieve? I left no more than 2 tenths unaccounted for and that is a fair representation of where I am with almost every combo I run.

That said, you might be surprised at just how big the gap between the D1G aliens and everyone else actually is.

In order for the leaderboard to pick up what you are using for controller you need to put it in your sig.

0.016 off D2G :/ but still very happy with my final position and I know some guys in D2G which are definitely a tiny bit faster than me on track from the WRS race series events, so I guess it shows you I am in the right place and that the system is accurate:tup:

Big improvement over my last ranking as D3B, and I only participated in a handful of events on GT5. So this just shows you how much being in the WRS helps to improve your driving skills.

How would I know wether or not I'm outperforming my handicap?

How would I know wether or not I'm outperforming my handicap?

Each week in the results thread for a TT you will see all of the results listed and in one section you will see your performance relative to handicap for example;

13--2'12.198---GTP_EDK r=2.538 (d2/-0.054)
14--2'12.494---GTP_Argon r=2.743 (d2/0.350)

From the above you can see that the figures in the brackets indicate that EDK performed better than his handicap he has a negative (-0.054) whilst I had a lousy week (again!) and underperformed hence the positive value 0.350

It's nice to see that I qualified very similarly in GT5 whilst I was using a DS3! Then migrated a DFGT and made massive improvements!

Definitely going to have to dig it out again and get it set up.

So very much looking forward to the first TT!

How would I know wether or not I'm outperforming my handicap?

It can't be pulled from the replay (yet, at least).

I'll try and see if I can parse it from the signature again, as a lot of guys seem to have put it back. After the update to the new forums it broke, and with the new logic isn't as straight forward to do as it was hacked in before. So i'm not sure I can easily implement it... but for now a simple message to message will do :)
