Mitch I'm happy to see you are achieving your goals, your dedication (and endurance) humbles me. Congrats tough guy!!

Thanks my friend, appreciate the kind words. I see you are one of the rabbits whom I will be chasing. 👍 Congrats on your achievements as well and look forward to the friendly battles ahead. Stay fast my friend.

To the rest of the WRS Community:

I cannot say enough what this community means to me. Everyone's kind words and support overwhelms me. I can't begin to thank you all enough for all your help and support over the last few years or so, it has meant more to me than you'll ever know. I know it sounds cliché, but its very true....without you all here, It would not have been possible for me to improve as much as I have. This community has made me the driver that I am today, and to that I owe you all a big, sincere, heartfelt THANKS. See you all on the track and look forward to all the fun times ahead.

Stay fast my friends,
Mitch

Quick look at the qualifier results and I'm very pleased with my placement div 2 silver.
Now the real work begins of climbing the ladder up through the ranks.
Personal note to cargo congrats all that effort you put in paid off put a smile on my face seeing you well placed .

First things first: big props to all admins/stewards for an amazing work

They reviewed over 300 (x2) replays, can only say this :bowdown::bowdown:

As for my placement, i left on D1B and i comeback to it with almost the same handicap

Guess i wasn´t so rusty as i tought so i´m really happy with the result.

It´s great to see so many familiar names around so i know that i´m going to enjoy my comeback 👍

See you all on track :gtpflag:

D1S That's a bit of an shock. Was aiming for D1B, be cause of my promotion at the end of GT5. Had to learn 2 new track for this qualification and normally it takes a lot of time for me to earn new tracks. So would have bin happy with to continue GT6 where i left GT5. Hope i can keep that up

Thanks to the guys behind the scenes for wrapping this up so fast. One benefit for the team, it's bigger now then back in GT5 with a little less participants. But still very happy that the results are up so soon. Big 👍 to all of you guys, really appreciate it.

Great job there. 👍 I'm sure you'll represent the division well.

 Great job Dennis. 👍 You know you've got it in you.... now you can't sit down and rest mate. You've got a reputation to uphold. :sly:

Actually, the same goes for you @Matt

Cheers Chris! It's a bit of an overachievement but that's what I wanted. I knew I wouldn't go higher than around 1.6/1.7 at absolute limit so I squeezed pretty much every last bit out..... I did 650 miles at brands hatch based on my stats :-) probably 300 at willow. A fair bit more than I'll commit usually, but I'm not interested in progressing this time round  did enough of that last time :)

I'm looking at the pack of D2G and thinking that it'll be tough work beating you guys! I can see a fair few d1b promotions at the first window 👍

Oh and Dennis, change your sig mr speedy!

FYI... the qualifier is open for new submissions. We can't say exactly when we'll be processing the next batch, but within 2-3 weeks seems like a safe estimate. After you submit, but while waiting to be processed, here are your options:

Time Trials - You can follow along with any time trial and post splits to the thread, but the leaderboard won't register your times nor will fetchy accept any lap submissions. You can still try the combo, ask questions and learn from the experience.

Online Events - You can participate officially in online events (which don't directly use your handicap) as soon as all the following are complete:
  1. Your laps are reviewed by an admin and are verified clean
  2. You receive a PM from an admin with a provisional division assignment (we will only assign a provisional division, not a class (Gold/Silver/Bronze). This provisional result is a rough estimate and may not equal your final official assignment.
After your laps are submitted it typically takes 24-72 hours to receive a provisional division, sometimes quicker depending on admin availability. To be safe, if you want to participate in a particular online event make sure you submit your qualifier at least three days prior to the event (or the qualifying deadline for the online race if that's applicable).

Good luck!

It's been said at least twice in this thread, but the first TT should go live this weekend. That's not 100% sure at the moment, but it's looking more likely (thanks to more great work from JB on the leaderboard).

Great, I can't wait. :D Really looking forward to getting things started and letting the good times roll!!! (pun intended)

I feel loved!

When people use the term "Combo" when referencing an event, are they talking about a set of events or are they speaking of a track/car pairing used in one race/time trial?

Firstly, if you only had "a couple cracks at it" is that representative of how much effort you will be putting into the weekly TT events? It should be - that was a prerequisite of the qualifier.

Secondly, these were deliberately tricky combos chosen to test abilities with 2 opposing sorts of car handling skill. Most everybody struggled in some fashion, except those at the very top - D1G aliens.

Consistency and patience are what matters most when taking on TT challenges like this. You can set your best lap and have no fastest sectors in it at all - next lap you could be up 0.5 and lose it at the next corner. Thankfully, you're in exactly the right place and community to help you achieve that consistency. Participate regularly, patiently observe the laps and techniques of the fastest guys and watch the tenths drop away.

Why would you submit a lap so far off what you could theoretically achieve? I left no more than 2 tenths unaccounted for and that is a fair representation of where I am with almost every combo I run.

That said, you might be surprised at just how big the gap between the D1G aliens and everyone else actually is.

Because thier was no point as it would have gone off my old submission as i hit the cone so wouldnt have mattered if i put it up or a faster one by a tenth than the original replay.

Basically Little cannot improve his time in the official qualifier.

The lap that was clean still stands, the dirty one needs to be redone. If the new lap is slower then the old one, the new and slower one counts.

But if the new one is faster then the old dirty one, the old and slower time still counts. That's the 'penalty' we set for submitting a dirty lap.

This doesn't mean he can't beat you though. If hes faster then you he basically beat you. But he just can't get a higher place in the registry then his initial submission, that's all. But competing in weekly races he'll get promoted and pass you nonetheless judging by his determination 👍:P

So was one of his entries clean? I thought that he had AS set to something other than "off" for both of them. :dunce:

Sorry for the confusion lefty. Yes, both were invalid so,they both have to be rerun. Have him submit two new laps and we will take care of the rest. He should just do his best laps with AS off and he will be good to go. 👍

I hope he beats you. ;)

Wow, D3 Gold! I must have gotten pretty lucky... or maybe you guys have just lowered your standards

Anyway, I guess now I have to try and live up to that... and keep working on my skills and aim for D2!

I've just been in the WRS since a few races towards the tail end of GT5, but I have to say how impressed I have been and continue to be with the work that Chris, Lucas, EDK, and all of you guys do in regards to the WRS. The professionalism is impressive and appreciated, at least by me.

Thanks for all you do. It truly makes Gran Turismo so much more than just a video game!

First of all many thanks to the Admins for all their hard work and gettin' 'er done so quickly.

I started GT5P in D1S, then moved to D1B for GT5, and now I'm in D2G :dopey:. I definitely struggled with the WS combo. I'm really glad though to have the challenge of trying to earn my way back into D1, but looking at all the fast guys in D2 I think it'll be an epic journey 👍.

I didn't play GT5 enough, mainly just did GT Academy, this time around Y'all will see a lot more of me .
I'm looking forward to many weeks of great racing, can't wait for the first TT. :gtpflag:

Congrats to all who qualified,I'm still having issue's submitting.

My guess is not zipping the right contents. It should be the whole folder containing the files, per zip file. I think.
