Yah I'm down w/ this, count me in. I guess there will be tire ware (my arch enemy) so I'll need a lot of time w/ a rocking setup so I can figure out how to tame that crazy Corvette

We are running Tuning Prohibited. And on Racing Hard tires it feels like it's glued. Nothing like the stock ZR1.

Tim, sometimes I feel for your keyboard. You are very much on top of things 👍 And always a quality post as well.

Looking forward to this one. I discussed the team race with Wes. We think that it is best for team Oranje to stick with the orange paintjob, and team Nederland to pick a different color because the different rim color is barely visible on track.

I wasn't totally sure. We could arrange a practise session to see what it looks like on track first.

Edit: You can see the body color from around 1 second back and the rim color from 3/4 tenths back. I guess it's better to change the color. We wouldn't want to accidently bumpdraft one of you guys.;)

I know that when I watch the Corvette team they always run the same color car. So maybe team America should all run the same color car and the rims would designate the group within, letting the number differentiate the driver. That way if multiple drivers wanted the same number the teams could work it out as to who has what number and if "69" isn't taken I think you know what I'll take :)

Anyone from team USA white got any color ideas?

DZ, I would say not to put too much weight on the current Red/Blue/White lineups for team USA. I've just sort of mashed those together myself without much discussion with you guys and we may mix them up. I have some ideas how we could come up with the splits, but I think we've still got some drivers arriving so up to now I'm just sort of mixing things up.

Having said that, I think coming up with at least 3 cool color schemes for the various USA teams would be a good effort. We can assign the colors themselves once we finalize the lineup.

Yes, Bart... I go through many keyboard every year. Also understand that I have no access to a PS3 so this is my only fix right now. :sly:

Just picked a sweet little Corvette and will be over at the 3D3 lobby splashing around on the two tracks :)

You need to get yourself a nice mechanical one. They have millions of hits on them before they start to wear.

Calling Team USA Drivers!

I've created a team thread: 2013 WRS World Cup : Team USA Discussions

The purpose of that thread is to organize Team USA and conduct discussions regarding team issues without polluting the general event thread. As always I have ideas () and would like feedback from Team USA drivers.

Anything not team USA specific should stay in this general event thread.

To the other teams... don't look!!!

Notice: We are limiting registration for this event to 16 teams.

Four lounges is the limit we can handle logistically. :boggled: How amazing would it be to have 60 drivers for this event. :dopey:

Currently there are 15 teams and a four guys on the free agent list. I suggest the current reserve drivers form up the 16th and final team.. given your countries/regions it's highly unlikely you'll be able to find country specific teams. Just call it Team Earth or something else more creative. :sly: Or you can wait and try to fill in an existing team if a driver drops... I'll let you guys coordinate between yourselves, but notice has been served. If a 16th teams signs up you'll have to join existing teams.

Any new drivers that are interested after the 16th team registers can try and fill in with the teams that only have 4 drivers or sign up as "fill ins" for those on reserve or for late cancellations. For team USA we are going to stop at 12 drivers / 3 sub-teams (on a first come, first serve basis), but if other USA drivers want to join us for practice and prep races they are welcome and can serve as prepared fill ins should one of the current drivers have to cancel. So at least they can contribute if not race in the main event.

Ideally, most/all teams will end up with 4 drivers. Not a problem if a few are only 3... but it does impact that point system slightly if there are teams in the lounge with 3 drivers as it makes it a bit easier to score points on those lounges so we want to make this the exception and not the rule.

Team Aussie will need to find at least a 3rd confirmed driver or widen their scope and pick up a free agent.

If there are free agents after all 16 teams are formed and some teams have 3 drivers I would encourage teams to pick up free agents if possible.

Team Belgium will probably be in that position of being in need of a reserve driver. So we would be more than glad to welcome Daniel (GTP_Noize) in our team.

Also about team colours, we already announced long time ago we will be using the original corvette colours with red rims (yellow/red). If you look at our flag, that is the only way to go ;)

I am going to have to pull my name from one of the team USAs. I thought our family vacation was to be ending on Aug. 3, but due to wife and daughter scheduling conflicts we will be out of town on the 10th. I was looking forward to this event, sorry to miss it. I apologize Tim, as a few days ago, we were set on our dates, then they changed very quickly.

No problem Patrick... we'll round up a couple more cowboys.

I saw that there was some odd #41 in my row for the roster and I was wanting #69

Thankzzz :)

And is there any chance that someone might be streaming any of our races like I saw Oink doing?

Team Nederland will use Matte Black for the car,and glutorange for the rims.
All rights reserved

Lefty, your car number will be assigned (your rank) and not picked so you won't get 69. Although you can use whatever number you want for practice if it makes you happy.

I'm guessing at least three streamers: oink, speedy, wardez...

I loved T-12's description of this event which he included in the last installment of GTPLanet Weekly Rewind: Pedal to the Metal so I put it in the Stewards Notes to replace my original "less than adequate" prose:

Steward's Notes:
"There’s a time in the WRS where it’s every man for themselves, and then there are times where the strength of a team is dependent on everyone pulling their own weight – this is one of those times. It’s time to strap yourself in and prepare to tackle one of the more unique WRS challenges that will be seen this year as you prepare to celebrate 100 weeks of 3D3 Racing." --Terronium-12

 for team Aussie.

Welcome Dion and Nicko! This field gets better and better!

@ Team GB

We could use a Red body car with blue rims.

There's only one other red car (Canada). So, maybe a sharper red than theirs, what do you lot think?
