I don't know about you guys, but I'm going with 1 cr = 1 cr. The economy in the game isn't the same as in real life, so why should the currency be so simply converted?

Is it? Surely your point of reference should be how the game works. You should figure out what the most effective profit margins are for you through trial and error and sell your cars and make a profit, it's as simple as that. All this comparing to the real world seems like needless complication. It is, after all, just a game. It's necessary to have a point of reference, because otherwise you can't know if your car should sell for 2 or 20,000 credits. The economy's creator no less has specified the relation. Credits are still the main economic unit, anyway.
Makes it easier to visualize pricesI don't know about you guys, but I'm going with 1 cr = 1 cr. The economy in the game isn't the same as in real life, so why should the currency be so simply converted?

I used the credit values and the OP and my development costs to give me an idea of how valuable credits are, and then set my prices based on the assumption that I'd be making a certain number of each model per quarter, and aimed for a certain profit. Much easier than trying to match the game to the real world. And yes, it means that I'm selling a V12 supercar for "$15,000." But I'm still making 13 cr on each one in profit, which should be plenty if I use my production facility at full capacity.Yes, it is.
If BKGlover were setting the prices, we'd have no need to figure out dollar values because, as the economy's creator, he knows what prices work. As is, though, we have no way of having any idea what a decent price for a car is. We could accidentally sell a car for pennies and lose big or sell a car for millions and also lose big. Trial and error is of course warranted, but unknowingly selling a Toyota Camry for the equivalent $750,000 because you don't even know what the currency value is? I don't think so. It IS just a game, but it's also grounded in the real world, and there's no way a real life car company would start building cars without even knowing how much a dollar is worth. We're simply using the ratio to give us a point of reference to base our prices on. Nothing more. I threw in all the extra conversions and things for mine because I'm pedantic and I wanted to. Simple as that. We're still working in Credits, and if the creator of the game's economy gives an exact conversion value I don't see why we should ignore it.

I dunno, it just seems more relevant to use the game to define the game. But I'm weird. Then you are smarter than I, for the OP credit values didn't give me anything to grasp for how much I should sell my cars for, as I don't know how much any of those things cost in real life so I have no sense of proportion. The credit values were just arbitrary numbers to me until the relation was given.
In any case, I really don't see how that's "much easier" than moving a decimal point three places. *shrug*
I dunno, it just seems more relevant to use the game to define the game. But I'm weird.

We don't get our profits until the end of the quarter. I merely posted an initial report so that my budget is clear.Wait, we're getting our profits for Q1 2014, right? Or has the game not started yet?
