Also, just a question about the value of components - if Nick de Vries suddenly turned out to be the next incarnation of Christ and can walk on water (or even more of a miracle, overtake Max without being taken off the road) and his value increases beyond the 13 point limit to 14+, does that mean I can swap him for someone else and I have 15 points to spend, or am I limited at 13?

Your selected team is 12 Tokens, and your 13th is in the bank, basically. So yes, you have one spare and if you decide to swap any component out then you can swap for something worth one Token more.

If your team increases in value, then again you have more Tokens available if you decide to swap; if de Vries had a bizarre first six races and his value increased from 1 Token to 2 Tokens, your squad value would increase to 13 Tokens (assuming no other changes) plus the spare Token you already have. You would be able to swap him out for someone worth three Tokens, or a pick a one Token driver and put the two additional Tokens into a swap for a different part of your squad like engine or chassis.

You may enter at any time during the season, but only entries received (by PM or post in this thread) before one hour ahead of first free practice will be eligible to score in the subsequent Grand Prix.

I'll put up the chassis/engine/driver scores in a bit. Suffice to say if you (impossibly) went Red Bull/Honda/Verstappen/Perez you'd be on 83.5pt and if you idiotically went Ferrari/Renault/Leclerc/Piastri, you'd be on 6.

Correct - classified finishes only. Maybe I'll use fastest laps as a tiebreaker...

Oh I somehow misread the initial post and thought you could only swap after the first re-evaluation at six weeks but after reading it again realise you can.

Hmm do I don't I, knowing me I'd change it for the worst.

Yeah I thought it was only after 6 races too... I think I'll still wait a couple rounds before sacking everyone though .
My biggest problem is it's virtually impossible to watch races live on this side of the world, and avoiding the whole GTP Motorsports section for up to 24hrs after a race is a real challenge !! ... I knew there was a reason I've never done anything like this before.

I've updated my big ol' spreadsheet to add @deviln3, @kaori, @PaMu1337, and @ROAD_DOGG33J, as well as the one swap sent through by PM. We're up to 23 teams now

The most popular selections in each group are Red Bull chassis (9/23), Mercedes engine (16/23), Alonso as either driver (13/23) and Hulkenberg as either driver (5/23) - which is only a 12-token team and would have scored you 66 points in round one.

I... think the best possible valid R1 selection would have been Red Bull, Mercedes, Alonso, Stroll for 75 points - which is what @Jordan and @Touring Mars picked, along with @kaori who wasn't eligible for R1.

If you could pick Red Bull, Honda, Verstappen, Perez (which, at 19 tokens, you can't) you'd have been on 83.5 points.

C'mon man, who needs sleep.
I hear you though as it's even harder from NZ compared to Aus. I've been watching F1 since 1984 and in the time I reckon I've missed 20 races at the most live. Staying isolated from all external sources on a Monday so you can watch the recording on a Monday night is a real challenge.

Seems like I have some short term luck with picking Logan over Stroll, but long-term will be a bit rough.
