And I was the idiot that forgot to buy RM's before the first race.
Still ran a solid race, considering, especially since this is, I believe only the second time I ever raced an NSX, got 3rd and 3rd.

Second race I had a real shot at the win I think, had I gotten through the field easier starting on RM's. 3.9 seconds down to Tony. :banghead:

I'm all for the use of RM.

But maybe not in the sprint race as it would become the main tire. Not sure about this one.
I don't understand why that's deemed a bad thing. The sprint race gets taken too literally imo, after all, we're already forced to pit when there's absolutely no need most of the time.

It was the main tyre in our sprint race, for obvious reasons, I'd imagine it'd be the same for yours.
And it worked out very well with the pit window I think.
I was the only car to start on RM's, and I finished 3.9 behind Tony, roughly 1.5 behind RFLX. If I hadn't gotten held up for the first 1.3 laps, I may have won, starting on RM's, but it seemed pretty clear to me that either strategy can work.

why not instruct the ntsc race to have rm as the option tyre and gather the feedback. then if a change needs to be made we can do it quickly.

Nycrom! Where've you been!?

I see you viewing the thread, we miss you!

I (we) have discovered a bug in private lobby at our GT300 race today. At least its a bug for me.

If I go into a private lobby like the WSGTC ones, my tires heats up OK as I drive. But if the track is changed to another track my tires doesn't heat up at all in the same way. We use changing track as a method to reset the track, so at the race start today my tires did not heat up.

I noticed this when I was practicing on my own privat lobby for Nurnburg. I have Indy as default track so I changed it to Nurnburg. Doing hotlaps at Nurnburg I could on a very good lap get into the low 2:04. I was trying several times and there was no way I could get under 2:05. I didnät look at the tires at that time. Then I went to one of the WSGTC rooms and got a low 2:04 on the first lap.

Something is wrong here. To make it even more confusing, I've been racing in the Euro GT500 league where we been using privat lobby for one year now. In the beginning we have the same issue with tires not heating up. But then we learned that if you change track and then back to the original track the tires will heat up as they should. It worked but its completely the opposite to what I'm now see.

Do the following test. Go into you private lobby, don't change track, and see what laptimes you are doing. Look how the tires heat up. Then change track and then back to the original. Drive again and see if you can get down to the same lap times and look at the tires if they are heating up in the same way. I just tested it, and after I changed track, my tires does not at all heat up in the same way as before I changed track.

I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this Maybe I look more at the tire temp then other people.

Im not sure if this affects me as I practise all the time in my lounge and im forever changing tracks to switch between my series and I havent notcied anything with tyres not heating up. I still know lounges are to blame for your problem though as in open lobbys ive never seen that happen (Except the ever glitchy Laguna Seca :P).

I've never once actually seen the tire warmth bug. I've heard about it enough to know it does seem to happen to some people sometimes, but I've yet to see it.
I'll give it a shot, but I don't expect to find it.

When I use to test in my lobby, the first thing I would do is refresh the track. It works

Stretch,

We raced together for nearly one year in private lobby. And you're right. There was (is?) a tire heat bug in private lobby that if you didn't refresh the track, the tires would not heat up properly. This is how we all done it up to now. But I discovered is that it now works the opposite. After refreshing the track, the tires does not heat up, ie the track must never be changed in the lobby for the tires to heat up the way they should.

I don't know for how long this has been. One month ago when we finished the Euro GT5 championship it worked as before. Two weeks ago I noticed that the tires wouldn't heat up in my own private lobby which I as you always refresh before using it. But they did heat up in the WSGTC rooms who are typically not refreshed.

At the race yesterday we refreshed the track and my tires didn't heat up. To fix it, we all had to leave the room, re-enter and not doing a refresh. Then but not until then my tires did heat up in the way they should.

I used to experience that bug as well, but only on Nurburgring F and Laguna! Now, thank god, I havent experienced it in a long time. I did however get the time online bug at Indy. I guess its about luck with GT5.

Sorry, that was gt300.
Last season's pole in the 500's was 1:36.7.
It's hard to compare though. Totally different settings.

Last season's pole was 1:42.2, but the cars were quicker, so it's hard to say. I think a 1:43 will be good,

Earlier this week Mole and I had some fun at Fuji. We both did 1'43.0 with a couple of cars each. Mole actually did a 1'42.5 with the Subaru ´08, the last low speed part of that track probably suits the 4wd very well.

This will be interesting. What time will you need to get into the top 12?
I have set the default track in both pal rooms to Fuji. Both NTSC rooms have spa as the default track ready for tonight's race, I will change it to Fuji tomorrow 👍

If I can do 1'43.0 in free practice I will be aiming for a 1'43.5 in the qual (preasure).

I would think anything in the 1'43.x will be in the top-6 and maybe 1'44.x will enough for top-12. Pole will probably require a 1'42.x.

Just my two cents

We need to decide whether we're going to stay with RH/SS tires for GT300 or if we should move to RH/RM.

The NTSC division are trying the rm's tonight. It may be the better option IMO. Use them to the max rather than seeing ss as a slower tyre that you will use as little as possible, as last night showed.

I will be ecstatic to be in the top 12. Somehow I don't think I will make it though. 1 thing is for sure I will be trying as hard as I can.

Is the season starting this week then?
I take it we are not doing mixed class with only 12 cars ?

Forgive me if its in the OP im on the iphone and it aint the best browser.:P

Doubt there will be more than 12 people on each class. Preseason races have had poor attendance, doubt it will change on the regular season. But like Twist said, Im still going as hard as I can.
