Wow, you guys are hardcore with your rigs... CSL's rig brings a tear to my eye.. not in pity but in appreciation for the dedication to do anything just to race properly :D

On another note, i was talking to playseat initially, but by the time they replied to me, RSeat already jumped in and offered to sponsor. Would've been nice to have this (RedBull Playseat F1 - about 1k USD!):

Still in talks with them but it's on hold until season 3 is over.

Honestly, I like the RSeat better, looking at the two. The RSeat looks awesome, tbh, if I come into the money to buy something of the sort, I actually will be looking at RSeat first now, because that rig looks awesome to me, for a much better price.

Yes, it's more ergonomically practical - similar to Touring Car seating position, which is one of, if not, the most popular form of motorsport. I personally prefer that seating position, but RSeat's design is absolutely superb! Very clean looking too.

Won't your feet be higher than your head?

I like the current prize for it doesn't have a center post. Was really impressed with the side post idea for wheel mount. If you plan to do any heel toe. The center post seems to be a hindrance for that.

Agreed - that's one of the main things that attracted me to pursue RSeat. One of the main complaints from Playseat's old rigs - center post just get's in the way. The F1 seat is a beaut though, center post shouldn't be a bother since it's strictly for F1 racing.

On another note: The points system. I'm still trying to figure out what the best course of action here. Since we have a bigger pool/field of drivers this season, all 16 drivers in the grid will receive points (instead of the planned 10). My problem is creating a points system that will coincide perfectly with a points based penalty system.

I prefer lower numbers. If any of you guys have an idea, please do share.

That depends, are we talking a single division points, D1/D2 points..?

There's a points system for each race, but then there's a GT500 race, and a GT300 race, sometimes mixed, meaning a D1/D2 for both GT500 and GT300. Then on top of that there's the NTSC time slot.

Points for a single race, I prefer the simpler, mathematical with small bonus sets like this, for example.
1. 20
2. 18
3. 16
4. 14
5. 13
6. 12
7. 11
8. 10
9. 09
10. 8
11. 7
12. 5
13. 3
14. 1

Straight order, small bonus for top 3, small hit on the bottom positions.

Wow, loved some of those rigs. That Redbull one is just insane! :drool: I have my G25 on a desk with a chair and a 32"TV. Hate the chair, gives me back pain every time Im done with a series race. Need something comfortable to sit on :D

I still prefer a "penalty" for the lowest three positions. As we know, finishing 14th in a 14 car race doesn't require... well, anything at all, besides starting the race.

I would love to join you guys but i'm a huge MMA fan, and the UFC main event fights are at the same time of the NTSC races. I would have to miss like half of the races.

That's almost double the points for winning over fourth.
I think the podium deserves a reward, and the bottom rung deserves a penalty.
If there's 16 cars, then the bottom half looks like an ok way to go, but maybe only dead last doesn't get any points?

20 for winning, only 11 for fourth.
To scale that:
40 - 32 - 26 - 22 - 20, etc

To me that's just way to many points to throw at first, or really the top 3 in general.

The difference between the dual heat points system (top 8) is equal to the single points system.
 
CSL, I always found that when I suggested something during Season 2 it goes the opposite way and the change is not for the good, which is the reason why I don't suggest things any more lol.

Masi, your first points table was perfect. It would be unfair to reward 15 and 16th place with no points. I mean, they've raced for over an hour. A point or 2 isn't going to not penalise them - it's 1 point out of a possible 30.

You should step it up another level and invest on a triple screen setup (with 3D - yes, i believe its possible).

Its a ok DYI bodge job and cost me nothing :P (except wheel ofc :sly:) and seriously I'm tallish and skinny (just to fit inside the drawer with my legs) So I barely look up my head is tilted 5 degrees at most so theres little to no strain , but I guess im young. Maybe I'd notice neck pain at your age. :sly:

Great rig you got there so I'll happily trade ya though :lol:

Still yet to try 3D since spec 2.0.

Black Ops is actually really cool in 3D. Scoping down the sites is pretty stunning.
 
I agree that the first point system is the more efficient one. Points should be awarded for each finishing position otherwise you're pretty much encouraging back markers to quit, whether it be a race or the series. That one should work just fine 👍
