Another question I had, which is slightly off the topic at hand. In qualifying is tire damage supposed to be on? Have been practicing with both and have slightly quicker laps when it's off...

It is a penalty to us if we have to run 5kg extra actually... come on. The cars are "equal" at the moment, but some have definite speed advantages down the straight, my complaints about that were basically ignored, so I've chosen to go with the fact that since we can all run more-or-less the same lap time, it'll do.

20kg at Laguna is costing me about 0.3s per lap. 5kg is therefore just under 0.1s - not a lot, I will agree! But qualifying last round had 0.1s between 1st and 3rd. So yes, it's an issue.

If it's "not going to cause any difference to our laptimes", then let's take 5kg off instead ;)

👍 5kg can drop you 2, 3 places easily. And you are gonna tell me, adminstration, that it isn't a big deal? You can't take 5kg off as the cars are already at stock weight. Only solution I see here is change the ballast system.

You obviously didn't see my reply to andil's post then?
 
Can't simply change the ballast system at this point, it just involves too much.

I think the simplest solution would be to just check the Garaiyas like they already have the extra 5kg. So is they have 20kg of ballast we will have to check the weight at 1190 while the car should actually have 1195. Then, no matter what, the car can always have 5kg less then what the actual ballast weight should be.
