I'm really really disappointed about you guys. You are here in a big series (certainly the biggest on GTPlanet) and you drive and think like "little kids". Many of you don't respect the rules, many of you don't respect others drivers on the track, many of you don't know how to keep the control of their car, etc...

15 incidents reports for the round 5...do you think that it's normal? NO!

I'll check the PAL GT500 reports today. You all have to know what is the difference between a race fact and a voluntary incident...

WTF that's bad man!!

And that's not including all the other reports that will never be submitted because people don't feel like taking the time to bother with reporting things once the race is over because it doesn't change the results.

If it doesn't change the results, it might aswell be forgiven and forgotten. :) (unless it happens again next race of course.)

I'm not surprised litchi... No offense, but many in here have no clue on how to drive in a race. Until severe penalties are awarded for the bad drivers, incidents will keep happening.

OK8

Tis true. Although I wasn't entirely speaking personally; I just meant that there were probably more minor incidents that may have slightly peeved people but in the end they are forgotten because it had little effect on the outcome.

Whether they have a big or small effect, they should be reported and looked at. Decisions should be made fairly.

Not so sad I missed this one by the sounds of it... must've been a bit of a mess...

Fingers crossed for the next one!

Edit: in PAL-1 for an hour for practice

I think all my incedents were on lap 1. Nothing really worth reporting by others really.

Almost took you out Litchi lap 1 :P. God bless the E-brake

After watching Daytona last night, I wonder how many of these incidents are considered valid. Lucky for me I was last on GP/F course and was pretty much alone till I caught up with our fellow GT300 racers.

I view a valid incident as obvious. Such as a deliberate push or block. We are going to trade paint, no doubt. After watching Daytona last night, if you are going to ride some ones bumper, as soon as the lead car slows down or changes his/her line, that lead car will be the one who pays the price if the one riding it is not aware of the sudden change. Nascar is not the same as what we are doing, but the same principals apply.

I had a great time and questioned one incident I had. After looking back on it. Maybe it was trival. Chalk it up in the S%$T happens column.

In NASCAR, a single "track cut" below the yellow line is a full lap penalty.
In some aspects, we're more forgiving. ;)

The real difference between any racing series and online racing, is that people drive much differently. It's been tried and proven, people will ruin their own race (and someone else's) out of idiotic moves 10X more often in GT5 than in real life.
Because of all this, we must do things very differently regarding penalties than real life.

One issue that I cannot understand is many drivers lack of race strategy. Quite a few race such as the finish line is around the next corner, being in full attack mode all the time. I think this is what causes many of the unneccessary incidents.

If being behind a car that is slightly slower, it barely pays to overtake it at the next corner, as it will slow both of you down, if manage an overtake you are often re-passed at the following long straight.

At last race at Nurnburg, the best (only) good place to overtake is at the long start/finish straight. Then you have a full lap to try to develop a gap and make the pass stick. If as an example overtaking at the last chicane, you most likely going to get repassed on the following long straight so the only thing you done is to lose time to the cars ahead.

I think if people would race more tactically, we whouldn't have that many incidents.

Fortunately the GT300 PAL is made up of pretty clean and smart drivers.

You are right with your point, but I figured I should say I did pass GT before the chicane on my 59.9. He did not get me back on the next straight though. :D
Mediums are neat.

Hi guys,

unfortunately I have had a major change in schedule which will not allow me to be at home on Friday night at around the time the race starts...

However, it's an opportunity I've been chasing for some time so I cannot pass on it...

That means I won't be able to take part in any more races this season... I hope you all have fun and thanks for giving some great times racing...

I have just been looking towards next weeks race. 300km at Suzuka, by my reckoning that's 186 miles, 3.61 miles per lap. That's a whopping 52 laps. It's going to be a gruelling race. It's all about tyre wear this week IMO.

wow going to be a tough race

How long is that race gonna take... wowzer... as pace isn't gonna be my strength I think running a consistently clean race would be a good bet... hopefully (sorry guys) others will go in the sand etc? ;)

All WSGTC Staff please check your PM boxes for an extremely important announcement as soon as possible.

I am glad to see the points were added from Nurb GP/F.. but were there no penalized drivers?

I believe PAL is updated with penalties, I should be getting the replay to give NTSC a look soon now.

I don't think it is. I just looked again, and no penalties look to be marked. I understand if reviews are still going.. There was some very suspect driving going on. Really a shame, as it is a huge waste of time for the staff to review all the footage. You would think by now everyone would be on the same page, and the stewards could spend their time racing instead of babysitting.

I hope a lot of you don't take this the wrong way. Many of you are great sportsman's and great drivers. I really enjoy racing with you. But unfortunately there are a few who really keep the championship from being what it could be.

I am really trying to hold my tongue from calling one person out. But his driving has maliciously taken me out in 2 races on lap 1 with major damage. In the Nurb race this person was involved in 5 other cars receiving damage in just the first few laps. He also, even with the crazy amount of cuts displayed by a few in GT300, most likely has the most cuts of everyone.(I honestly didn't have the patience to count all the offs) I understand accidents, and racing incidents occur. But the history on this individual proves these actions are far from accidental.

The PAL 300 division has had time penalties and DQ's added. Litchi was looking at the 500's. I am not sure if there are any penalties to be added.

This will be a great race. Suzuka is a good track for longer races as its a smooth drive and not that tiring. I like longer races giving more strategic options. Looking forward to it.

The table can still be edited with penalty's Ree, its only provisional results.

Suzuka is going to be crazy. I had a planed to get as least amount of ballast possible for this race as its going to be a killer.

We're changing the incident review system starting next week to a way where stewards can only review incidents they were not involved in. All reports are going through PURE first, used as a filter then will be distributed to the staff for regular review. Also a big change coming next week is that we're assigning a new role. Each division (specific conference and class) will have its own pair of penalty judges or racing marshals.

We want to localize all of the work to those that raced in the actual race. We're currently training up the chosen stewards that don't have much experience in dealing with calling penalties up so we can trust them to independently make good decisions with awarding penalties. This makes it so after a race, once the reports start coming in, the marshals can just sweep through their replays looking for the incidents reported.

And we're also going to instate a 48 hour incident reporting deadline. After 48 hours, two days after the NTSC race on Monday, no more incident reports will be accepted. Remember we will only investigate incidents reported by the drivers. So far we haven't gotten anything for the GT500 NTSC race for example. We need the drivers to be diligent.

Expect a more thorough outline of the tweaked system in a few days.

Oh and to update all of you on the status of the grand prize. We're currently awaiting a response from rSeat for confirmation on a request and will hear back from them soon.

You can stay confident the seat is still going to be rewarded.
