So it's true that the physics on the personal lounge is differet from online rooms?? or it's only mi imagination !!! 💡
cause i practiced for the quali on mi lounge, but during the quali i felt the car different from my practice, i even neded to adjust my braking zone on the fly!!
I test in my lounge so random's dont interfere with me.I havent noticed any difference in the times between a lounge and a public room.

.: NOTICE :.

Qualifier is now officially extended to its Original Deadline of January 2, 2012.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Sorry I have been absent this week. Had to do a bit of shopping and stuff for the holiday's. I'm back now 👍

Merry Christmas everyone!

I've been trying to learn to drive without the suggested gear on the HUD and I have been surprised to find that even though I pay little attention to it, it seems to have subconsciously imprinted itself on my driving ability. It feels like I have to re-learn every track all over again!

So word to the wise, if you haven't switched it off yet either do it now or wait till after the season!

Now that there's an option to restrict ABS what do you guys think, should ABS be banned?

Real SuperGT cars don't have ABS. Just throwing the though out there.

OK8

Would be unfair too pad drivers imo.

In my opinion, if it's not broke then don't fix it.

Abs off on this game still feels like your braking on snow and ice it locks up on 10-20% brake pressure... Which I can liken to when I was braking in my none ABS car in snow as it would lock up so easy even when I barely pressed the pedal. Ofc in dry I have only locked up once on full brakes avoiding an old idiot pulling out of a junction when i was like 10ms away in plain sight. Most other times I can jam on the brakes pretty hard without locking up, the game physics just seem off.

I'm a pad driver. I'm faster without ABS but only for hotlap (tyre/fuel deleption set to OFF). I can't drive a long race without ABS cause my tyres wear off too fast. So, agree with you: Would be unfair too pad drivers 👍

This was before the 2.02. update. I would agree then. After 2.02 i have tried various combinations of cars and tires and as long as you have a low BB braking without ABS works great.

I don't think it can be implemented in this championship though as it would be a huge step for many drivers and it would definetly cause some ''damage'' incidents.

Still Tony, I think PD missed the simulation of no ABS braking. I had a Nissan Pulsar/Sunny '91 in RL. No ABS of course. I could slam on the brakes real hard and it woudnt lock up, you just needed to have some finese while doin it. While in GT I raced in online with no ABS in Suzuka. I was really careful and gentle with braking but still locking up lost of time especially before the chicane. Really wasn't enjoying driving, if it was the same as in my Sunny I would enjoy and use no ABS but its not the same. So I would say its badly simulated.

I've been spec-racing with the Toyota GT-86 lately, without ABS and i've noticed the importance of the BB setting. Try 2/0, 1/0 and you'll see that stomping on the brake pedal will not lock any of your wheels unless you do an early downshift or the car is very off-balance. It's worth a try, and if you like it, it will make driving 100% more interesting for your feet.👍

Is it faster not using ABS?
I have heard some people say they are faster without it.

Just wondering why it is faster if it is.
Can you brake later? or trail brake easier?

Over a long race, not a chance. For hot-lapping, i've heard people say it but i don't see it when i'm driving Super GT cars, at least not yet. With road cars it seems more likely, but in any case not before you put down some serious km's.

Ive never driven with Tc on, I hate the way it restricts power when your not traction limited in say a corner like Eau Rouge lol. (I know this from driving a car I just bought and forgeting to put TC off )

There is this thing when using ABS=0... You have to tweak the brake pressures from 5 to 1 or 2. You don't get less braking that way actually because the ABS of GT5 is a bit daft, kind of like its TC...

Now, to answer your question, you can't brake later, no... But you can trail brake a lot easier... A LOT EASIER!!! The car becomes completely different under braking and you can have a really understeery setup and still hit the line on corner entry spot on...

True enough, it does use more rubber when hotlapping... But in a race situation, with brake pressure set to 1 or 2, and with a bit of practice it doesn't cause more tyre wear... However, having said that, in that situation it doesn't give you an advantage either... It certainly wears YOU out more...

Now, I actually use the ABS because I hate the idea I have to drive a car with no brakes to keep them from locking and as I said earlier, in a race situation I cannot get any more out of the car with ABS OFF... But I still think that the brakes are not very well simulated in GT5... With standard brake pressures you have to use the same brake pedal travel as you would in a real car in order to avoid locking... But with no resistance or feedback from the pedal it's extremely hard...

P.S. And for those of you wondering how you can change the brake pressures when the tuning is prohibited... You either get a DFGT, which has the knob thingy on it, and do it from there, or you map some keys on your wheel or pad if there are enough (which on most serious steering wheels, there are). I, for example, found 1 tenth on the Mercedes Seasonal by tweaking the front/rear brake balance, all in the first left-hander...

P.S.2 Oh, and on gravel or snow, there is no point at all bothering with ABS... There, it is slower in any situation...

P.S.3 And now for the really important stuff!!!

Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

You can adjust brake balance and pressure even if tuning is prohibited. It's important do bind the buttons though if you do shuffle racing or race a recommended car, but in those situations I use ABS 1.

The reason I race without ABS is the fact that I don't like how with ABS 1 the braking distances are always constant. If you mark your braking spot right your car will pull up the same way every single lap (not considering tyre wear). Without ABS you have to leave some safety margin there as it's up to you to make the car pull up in said distance and that's what makes braking much more exciting.

Anyway apples and oranges, I'll be using ABS 1 in WSGTC races aswell since with the current pace I'm running I can't afford any handicap :D

Guys, without sounding like a tit I am about to practice the qually car/track combos and I wanted to know if tyre wear is on or off for qually?
