Right, and how do we become a property baron in GT7, start our own business of any kind, or even beome a race car driver that earns $40 million a year on a contract driving only 23 races? Or, you know, sell things to make money in any way? Like cars? There is none of that.

That's why the "It's realistic to real life" argument falls flat, from Kaz or anyone. That only works if we can earn real life money as well, otherwise it's grossly unbalanced. You can't just pick and choose which aspects of your in-game economy matches the real world economy and expect it to work. Well, I guess it is working in the sense that most people can't earn enough to ever afford one, but that's not very fun.
This reminds me of a request that would never be accepted, but goes on the basis of PD wanting the "realistic to real life approach".

I don't just want the ability to sell cars back. No, if the game gets to sell legendary cars based on real world prices and they fluctuate through Hagerty's evaluation, then the player gets that equal sense of realism. That F1 someone bought for $18.5m cr? They're selling it 2+ years later back to the game; except the game now owes the player $22m cr. Y'know, since we're supposedly operating the prices of these cars on the basis of real life markets.
4. This could be argued both ways, brand invitations exist in real life (e.g. Ferrari has several such), so GT7 wanted to implement it
Except real world invites work on a completely different system that makes much more sense. See, I made this joke for GT8 that you'll only be allowed to buy the most expensive Ferrari in the game after you've bought most of the other Ferraris in the game or compete in 100 races with a Ferrari.

A user told me they'd take this over how it is now; an invitation based solely on a RNG roulette.

Finally 😂 i found it!!

I know its been very well put repeadtedly in the thread, but that just emphasizes how out of touch Kaz and PD are. In fact, rather than a generic release from PD, Kaz addressing it personally just makes him look worse.

"We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view."

We know, Kaz. We"ve lived it. When was the last time they released a complete, balanced game when promised? They're either unbalanced and missing a large percentage of content, weeks/months/more late, or both. I honestly dont mind waiting longer for a game/content, happy to. But to be put off time after time and then handed something rushed and half finished (with some things never materializing at all) its a slap in the face. 'We know the game economy is terrible now, so we've decided to make it even worse now so we can fix it at some future point' (see previous similar promises)

Is Kaz getting so focused on implementing the real world that he's lost touch with what a sim game should do? I played loooong hours of previous games but was eventually able to buy and achieve everything I wanted. Sport was a change; speaking just for myself I only got about 70% of the cars I wanted and maintaining a job and a life didnt leave near enough room for the grinding I would have had to do for the rest.

Kaz wants it to be more like the real world? I could pivot my entire life focus to cars and racing right now and only achieve a tiny slice of what is covered in a sim game. If the game is so realistic and representative that i can only experience a similar small slice, * why am I doing it*?

In my opinion, creating memes like this are more wrong than the alleged offense they are created to counter.
Depends on the meme but yeah, this in really poor taste. Dont equate people losing families and homes with your disappointment in a game.

Also I think it’s more on the Sony’s business model side for games like GT.

I don’t think Kaz and his team have anything to do regarding micropayments.

We’ve seen some other edgy movements from Sony recently, like not-free next gen upgrades and base price raises.

Hope this movement we are initiating with this mighty franchise stop these greedy suits at Sony HQs.

I dunno man, no other first party offline-focused, single-player experience has MTXs. R&C (to my knowledge, I could be wrong) doesn't let you buy bolts for $$$.

Licensing is expensive as hell but I doubt PD/Sony cares if they've kept Pikes Peak by the balls with an exclusive license since like 2017 and haven't done anything with it. And if they do care, its squarely on them for the MTX implementation, not Sony.

It's most likely both. Sony has already stated they wanted to create more service type games for this gen. They even bought Bungie and the Destiny IP to help them make that transition. On top of that we also know Playstation added pay-to-win MTX loot in Uncharted 4's multiplayer. GT7 looks like Sony trying to test the bed with far they can go before fan backlash.

So...I take it Red Rock Valley isn't available in GT7?

Asking for a fiend.
No

They can keep em'

To a certain extent, I think that no one understands collection cars pricing more than corporate suits because they are the ones actually buying these cars irl. Well at least more than bum-ass grown-up gamers (self-description) bitching they can't afford a car in-game imo.
lmao You think corporate suits and billionares buying 20 millioin dollar cars at auctions are the same thing, grow up.

What's sad is this HAS everything to be the best granturismo but stupid design choices ruin it.
Example , you can Preety much RM like 90% of the road cars with roll cages and widebodies . This has not been a thing since GT2 .
The AI is the best it has ever been .
The photomode is better than ever .
What does PD do ?
No event actualy encourages you to make a " race spec " car. It's all visual .
AI is never shown off in the congo line starts we get .
They decided to remove the Export photos to USB function.. The resolution of the pictures is 2k , Exported via GT's website or via screen shot they are 1080p ( no idea if they are true 2k on ps5 ) .

All granturismos since 4 feel like 10/10 games with 5/10 design. Forza Horizon has had really bad AI IMO but playground games have designed it in a way that makes it great. Like the AI in all the horizon games is straight garbage but the races arent built around technical courses or anything that would highlight bad AI design.

Just stop, its Kaz the deluded out of touch fool and his band of PD follower fools and its clear as day.

High cost MTX wouldnt matter if races payed out 250,000 and no car cost more then 2/3 million. It his idiotic car pricing mirroring real life that is truely killing the game.

Kaz, PD and Sony are all about the $$$ and don't care about people with tight wallets or hard times! I will never buy their MTX BS GT Dollars!

On another note, I have been tying to grind the current poor mans winnings! Has anyone else noticed the "clean race bonus" is harder to get? I have been making sure not to touch any opponents and still not getting the clean bonus for many races. At this point it would not surprise me if they nerfed this as well!

The problem with that though is what the hell have they been doing for the last 5 years? The majority of the content has been recycled from sport. They have come up with a few new licence tests, a few missions, 50 odd cars and 3 tracks. Sure there have been a few enhancements and an upgraded physics engine. But really there isn't a lot to show for 5 years. George RRR Martin moves like Usain Bolt in comparison. If they weren't pressured we would be lucky to get a complete game by 2040 at the rate they move at.

I'd say there has been far too much circle jerking and self congratulation at PD for the past few years. They are so out of touch it's not funny.
The weird part is, the people in charge of creating events, are supposedly not even the same that do the physics, model cars, tracks, etc, so it's even more questionable what were they doing the whole time. It's not like they are occupied with something else. It should't be that hard to carry over some of the events from GT Sport, and update them with PP in mind. If they lack imagination to create events, ask the community, allow players to create and share their own events/races/challenges, look into GT4 to see how they can make events. Hell, combine those 3 ideas all at once (and make any new races not rolling starts lol).

Back on the prices, they made a stupid decision. I was fine with like a handful of cars that were 20 mil, while everything else was fairly cheap, which made collecting those cars kind of a long-term goal. Having a limit of 10 mil for the most expensive car, would be a decent balance between exclusivity and affordability. The only problem would be for those very few that already bought the super expensive cars, and if the prices dropped, they would have lost a lot of Cr, unless they somehow get a refund. And of course, increasing the payouts.

One thing crossed my mind. If they really want to push those "invitations" to buy cars, what if they made them so the player has any control over what they can buy? Win X amount of races with a Ferrari, you get invited to buy one of the exclusive Ferrari's. Own 5 Aston Martins and you are now (permanently) invited to buy the One-77 and the Vulcan. Literally anything is better than how it is now. I personally thought from the beggining that invites were just something that gave the player some discount to buy a certain car, which IMO would have been much better and actually a worthy prize to get from a roulette.

I wanna know why on this earth did Route X need to be nerfed. It's payout pre-patch was less than what Fishermans Ranch is post patch. Why did that poor payout need to be nerfed by 50%. It's beyond silly.
So you can enjoy the game more........ Ha Ha.

Some people need to stop slurping on Kaz's Alsace test track.. The more often you read his statement, the more ridiculous it sounds.

Hi Kaz!

/wave

I’m currently mechanically repeating (grinding) Trial Mountain Cup over and over and over again.

It’s not fun at all.

I would much rather play a custom race with custom cars on a track of my choice.

But it needs to be done if I want to buy one of your FOMO cars from the Legend Car shop.

This is what you wanted to achieve right?

Because if you really wanted us to race the cars we want on the tracks we want.

Then custom races would be the best way to earn credits in the game.
