So... Is the 911 GT1 a fast car once tuned?

My goal a few months back was was to enter it in the (800pp) Gran Turismo World Championship. But that was pretty difficult even in a modern almost fully tuned Ferrari F12.

Is the 911 (heavily tuned) fast enough for that championship?

Am I the only person who loves the Yellow 911 Strassenversion?

I actually think that the yellow is a much nicer color for that car but I bought the light blue last time around and I need every credit to be able to afford the F1 and 917K coming up soon. But I would definitely love to have it in yellow. I can repaint it I guess? Do you know know the name of that color by any chance?

This cannot be done on Mac no??
The script itself is incredibly simple so it should run in Wine, or better yet, a virtual machine (there are quite a few good ones that are free, or at least there were when I was still using Mac exclusively a few years ago)

As long as you run Remote Play and the Semlar script (or similar... might be a far better one I don't know about) in the same VM instance it should work just fine.

I think it is Fayance Yellow. If not it's Speed Yellow, but I'm leaning towards Fayance.

According to wikipedia, the strassenversion's yellow colour code/name is "Pastel Yellow". Also according to wikipedia the strassenversion only ever had one car made in yellow.

By the way, anyone know when the 917K will come back and how much it will cost? That's the next Porsche I want to collect.

I'm just going off of the in-game paint names that are listed as being Porsche. Those are the only two bright yellow's PD has included from Porsche so I'm just assuming it's got to be one of the two. I put each on the wheels of the GT1 seeing which one matched and they were both really close so unless they used a generic yellow I guess it has to be one of the two.

Anyone know if there is a place to see the name of the paint on a given car? In the LCD there is a section that says "paint color" but nothing is listed. Not finding it on the settings sheet or car selection screen in the garage. Getting sick of playing the matching game in the livery editor, lol

Anyway, the 917k is four cars away if the list @Samus created holds true (it's been pretty spot-on) so it should show up within a week, and its price was 18mil the first time through the cycle.

Edit: To anyone that wants to see the list it is on page 72 of this thread about 1/2 way down the page. It's been a very valuable tool in helping me budget, so once again, thank you for your efforts @Samus!

18 million? Oof... :indiff:
I personally think that they will drop the price of both two cars for around 15 mil... There's no way they will continue with that price in both cars. And probably will have a arrow pointing down for both cars.

Yes, it can win clean in all 5 races and it sounds good, nice n loud.
Oh boy... I just bought this car and it's not good.

I'm currently running the 800pp race at Sardegna and it's nowhere near fast enough to compete against that level of cars.

The cars straight line speed is average, the aero/grip is mediocre at best, the car has traction issues even with racing tyres, the brakes are rubbish and the fuel economy is simply awful.

I'm running with around 670hp with the low turbo charger and a few other bits like intercoolers and it can only do 3 laps at power setting 3 and then a little bit of power setting 2...

I'm just trying to have some fun doing a 4 stopper on softs because I was absolutely nowhere on a a 3 stopper with racing hards. I think a top 15 would be a decent result.

I'm sure this is a good car for other purposes but it's not the racer I was hoping for.

The "wait until tomorrow" midweek refresh:

NEW:
  • NONE
SOLD OUT:
  • 1967 Ford Mark IV Race Car
FRESHLY ON LIMITED STOCK:
  • 1961 Jaguar E-type Coupe
PRESUMABLY THE LAST DAY FOR:
  • NONE

I didn't get the 917 last time because it was too expensive. I don't have the free time to grind away for it and I don't want to spend any more real money on the game, so, once again the 917 will be out of reach. If only this car was in a video game so I could maybe see what it's like to drive...

You can test drive the Porsche 917 in the final license test.

The LCD sure is wasting everyone's time. Why has it been so long since a last batch of new cars came in?

Spa under pressure on a wet track doesn't sound like much fun. I'd rather blast it around the N-Ring on a sunny morning. I'm probably just being unreasonable.

I said it would be good for the World GT Series,... Deep valley, Spa, Lemans, Mt Panarama and Nurburg,...it's not so good at Sardegna.
Have mine at 851 HP, 780 PP.

We now know how the dynamic pricing is set to work. From the 1.15 patch notes:
In the Hagerty Collection, prices have been revised according to real world valuations under guidance from Hagerty. Hagerty is an American company that provides car insurance and valuation for classic cars, and has also sponsored many historic car events in recent years. The new prices will be applied from the next lineup update. The next pricing revision is planned for August 2022.
The first car that appeared with an arrow that hasn't repeated is the 1984 Ferrari GTO, and that had an up-arrow. More than half of the current lineup (including last night's sell-out) now have up-arrows:
  • 1961 Jaguar E-type Coupe, currently 162,000 Cr.
  • 1995 Ferrari F50, currently 3,300,000 Cr. (also had an up-arrow the first time...and this time prior to the update)
  • 1965 Shelby G.T.350, currently 487,000 Cr.
  • 1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, currently 3,000,000 Cr. (also had an up-arrow the first time...and this time prior to the update)
  • 1967 Ford Mark IV Race Car, was 4,600,000 Cr.
  • 1963 Chevrolet Corvette (C2), currently 178,000 Cr. (had a down-arrow the first time, but the price hadn't dropped...and it also had a down-arrow this time prior to the update)
Edit - the F50 and 911 also had up-arrows this time around prior to the update, while, ominously, the Corvette had a down-arrow prior to the update. The other vehicles that now have up-arrows did not have any arrows prior to the update.
