Thing is, when Gordon Murray talks about it, doesn’t seem that special. To me, it’s funny, I can make the time to afford it, but I’m choosing not to and now, it doesn’t seem that special or I guess, a necessity, to me. Having second thoughts about the 917 as well. Choices, in this game of simulating real life(prices).:sly:

That's because he thinks he could've improved the car much further. He admited this on the review of his new T.50 which basically he stated to be everything he always wanted the F1 to be.

Still, the F1 has the ingredientes:

-Great looks
-Beautifully sounding NA V12.
-Center seat driving position
-Despite being a supercar, it actually can be used as a regular daily, it can carry 2 extra passengers and it has very large trunks (it's on the sides of the car) for you to put some luggage in.

And, most importantly, its performance figures, both road legal and in racing. Won Le Mans in 1995... in an inferior class. Broke the top speed record, did 390kph in 1993... An engine with only 626hp, and this was held for almost a decade.

The F1 is arguably the best supercar of all time.

And personally, it's one of my favourites as well. As far as road cars go, I only have it topped by the Carrera GT, LFA and the F50.

For sure, I mentioned this(about available technology) in the T.50 thread.
So, an NSX-R it is then. :sly:

I love this. Make the thing you want to make. The way you want to make it.

Not going too far wide, but like George Lucas had his vision and technology wasn't available yet. Not saying his works after were better, but being able to do what you wanted to do in the first place, with updates tools, that's the heart of it.
Also, from a 2015 thread about what cars need to stay
Iconic(cars that actually changed and stood out in the automotive world) Standard cars in GT6:

Fairlady/240Z
Mini Cooper 1.3
BMW E46 M3
GT40 '69
VW Beetle split window
NSX-R '92
NSX '90
AC Cobra
Lotus Elan
McLaren F1 GTR
AUDI ur-Quattro
Chevy Corvette '53
Nissan Skyline GT-R Calsonic
AUDI R8 #1&2

I dig the car as well. One of my favorites in GT Sport. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’ve got the cars I really wanted. The case that the prices are real, as iconic a car it is, to me, at this stage in this game, I’m choosing to pass.

I was considering the idea of doing more Circuit Experiences to save for that silver McLaren F1, but then I realized I could just wait to get it in Base Silver, as the colors look completely identical to me. Besides, it's when it comes in XP Dark Green Metallic again or in Historic Orange that I'll serious consider jumping on it.

Fun fact: Many years ago, in Manhattan, I saw a silver McLaren F1 on the curb.

Also, I know we can repaint cars! Stop reminding me about it, please. And the Porsche 917? It can wait as far as I'm concerned, as it's not like it'll change color next time it's around. In fact, this is why I don't really bother with buying racecars from the LCD unless I feel that they're absolutely needed, like how I feel that getting the Sauber C9 will help me on the Gr.1 race at Daytona. Certainly more than my R18 TDI '11, though I may try it one more time with lowered downforce and a higher top speed.

Anyway, I'd gladly jump on the next opportunity we see the Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC10) if it ends up being silver, or the Dodge Challenger '70 if it's in Plum Crazy.

EDIT: I have plenty of ideas of what cars could come to the LCD if they were added in updates, like the BMW 507, the Toyota TS020, the Chaparral 2D, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC110).

N24 with Gr.1 cars? :scared:
I got a 16 car grid for the 2000 N24 shared in my gallery, in case you fancy :D
I found 15 of the 16, awesome liveries

The UI never ceases to amaze me. Can't search by creator and after I found yours by searching with N24 as keyword (doesn't accept N24 '00), can't follow you or see more of your designs. Scroll down and recognize the name, but it cuts off at some point.

That must have been a lot of work, will look awesome on the track.

Ahh the last car I wanted is up now as well, and more expensive
1966 Ford GT40 Mk1 5,600,000 LCD June 4, now 6,250,000

I have 8 flat, gonna be low on credits after tuning and tires lol.

The T.50 will never be what the F1 is. It would have to win Le Mans against faster prototypes and be the fastest car on planet Earth when it's introduced. That's why the F1 is legendary: the feats. And that's why it costs 19.4 million in the game and not 3.5 million like the F50.

Also, Murray completely misunderstands why the F1 is so special. To put it in perspective, the F1 was a fair bit ahead of cars like XJ220, F40, F50 and EB110, all incredible cars on their own. The XJ220 even won its class at Le Mans (though it was disqualified on a technicality). Yet the F1 was better. It was beyond extreme.

The only thing that makes the T.50 special is being designed by Gordon Murray. Maybe the engine, but the Valkyrie has a better one, also from Cosworth. In fact the Valkyrie is a better car than the T.50 in pretty much every way... which makes the T.50 disappointing by default as the spiritual successor to a car that destroyed everything when it came out.

Need those prices to stay the same for the other Group C cars. As I’m about to buy two more C9s, for #61 & #62. Need two more XJR-9s, 962Cs and 787Bs. One more R92CP will do me.

I dont use only one car. I do tokyo wtc 600p with 4 cars. Gtr, nsx, dp100 and f50 and I want to increase this number.
But what I want know is if mclaren f1 is actually useful or nothing more than a money sink.

What tune do you run for the GTR and the nsx

The T.50 will never be what the F1 is.
And I don't think that's the main goal as it's meant as a spiritual successor and improvement of the F1...
The T.50 shares familiar features of the F1: a centralised driving position with two passenger seats flanking the driver, a six-speed manual gearbox, V12 powertrain, ticket passenger windows, dihedral wing doors as well as fan assisted ground-effect aerodynamics.
And now tell me again how Murray didn't get what made the F1 special :dunce:

The T.50 addresses many of the design and engineering inadequacies of the 90’s supercar, many of those the result of period design practices and time and budget constraints enforced by McLaren. As recorded by Murray "the spine is 50 mm too wide, the headlamps are like glow worms in a jar, the air-con was hopeless, the brakes squeak, the clutch needs adjusting every 5,000 miles, the fuel tank bag replacing every five years, loading luggage in the lockers was a pain. This all stuck in my head".
In theory it's an even better F1, a big facelift so to say :scared:

The F1 has the speed for Tokyo run, but the arse end wants to overtake the front if you try to push it a bit around a bend.
It's a great car to drive, but nervous at the limit.

I’m just waiting for the Mercedes-Benz CLK LM, Ferrari F40 and the Mazda 787B.

There’s a few of the more expensive cars i’d like to get but i’m not prepared to drop over £10m on a car any time soon

I was going to buy the Ford before the price increase, now I'm not sure... getting bored of grinding and I do still want the Miura, 288 GTO and DB3S when they roll around

I really hate the fact that in GT7, there are permanent engine and body upgrades that cannot be disabled/reversed without basically paying for the car again (at crazy prices) each time one wants to reverse them.
I already have an F40 but I want another one or two because I (stupidly) installed every engine and body upgrade before I realised that they were irreversible.

I am not the only guy here that i want (3) three versions of the same car... (Stock Tuned and Race car)!!!!!

It definitely seems very silly that they provide different Setting Sheets but then make certain upgrades irreversible, in my opinion these should be completely independent from each other. Including colours and visual parts.
Another thing that bugs me, somewhat related, is that you cannot buy upgrades from the Settings Sheets anyway.. when fine-tuning having to head through all the menus back to tuning shop and then all the way back to Settings is so much more tedious than it should be.

Does anybody know if the GT40 has the widebody option and then some special body modification parts (some cars have different / more customization options after applying widebody) in GT Auto?

Decided I won't purchase the McLaren F1 or the 917 even though I would like to and instead I'll get myself the Sauber C9 and the GT 40 Mark 1 since those are less 'grind'.

If I manage to get a decent day's run going on LeMans tomorrow (i.e not sleeping in!) then I may well still get the 917K, I do have 20 million at the moment so that would net me at least 20 million if I go the full day so then I could possibly get both but I'll save that second 20 million for the GTO and shudder at the price increase...
