Little Things You Love about GT7?

I just love the way the main UI is designed with the Cafe, Showcases, etc on that one screen. Plus, the little details given about each car- like a quick history lesson lol.

Some of the camera angles for replays are fantastic. Especially the high up ones so you can see all the detail in the infield and all the cars racing in the distance in a spread out field.
Yeah Good eh, quite a few new camera angles too on most tracks.
And occasionally when you skip back 10 seconds on the replays you'll get a different camera angle than first time around.
Do it enough and it'll switch up again.

Also holding down the Triangle button during replay will zoom in slightly on your vehicle.
I discovered that on GT Sport but works on GT 7 too.

This one is a combo, and is on the high side of "little things"...

The ability to create Custom races using cars from the player's Garage, PLUS the ability to Edit other people's Styles.

Not only do you get to choose your own competition's capability at a detail level, but you get to choose how they look, even borrowing from people with Livery Editor skills.

Here's a Custom Race photo to illustrate. The red S800 is mine, I'm driving the beaten up one. The rusty livery was created by another player, I repainted the wheels, removed the bumpers and removed the front license plate.

You can choose any Garage cars, and even choose the same car multiple times for use by different AI drivers.

I'm especially thrilled that we now have the option to allow other players to mess with our livery creations. Even better, you can't publish the resulting style and thereby claim credit for the work of others.

the work they put into returning GTSPORT tracks. On PS5, the tracks look amazing, namely Kyoto Driving Park, has had a lot of trees planted outside the track, looks like a whole different place. The mountain top finally has trees like the base had. GTS was this game's graphics but pared back.

I'm really loving the graphics on PS5, playing on a calibrated C1 OLED, sometimes the game looks real.

Just being able to put my own racing number onto a nicely done player-made livery or swap out a sponsor decal I don't like has definitely been a very pleasant addition.

A small but neat track detail I just noticed, the standings poles at Daytona will update to show the current lap the leader is on. You don't really see it outside of replays, but it's a nice touch nonetheless.

I love that the AI competitors are real people and keep showing up.

"Ah there's Solis in his Viper again"
"Oh Lucas Ordenez is racing, I remember him, I wonder what he's driving? Oh a Nissan GTR of course"
"Hmm, there's Lopez. He crashed into me in the last race!" (I might have cut across him 😀 )

So much better than the random names in previous versions.

On that note, I also like that you can change the names and nationalities of the drivers in custom race when you use your own garage cars. It's always a nice extra touch to add some era-correct driver names to keep things interesting.

Or, y'know, be silly like me and have F. McCloud and W. O'Donnell getting into scraps with each other every race.

Another small but actually kind of important (to me) thing: Time Trial leaderboards can be sorted by cars' performance ratings. This is super useful since I keep multiple setting sheets to put cars in as many performance ranges as possible, so it really helps to be able to have a direct comparison like that.

The improved livery editor, for instance. You can finally put decals on windows! Not the windshield or the front left/right windows, but only the rear windows, for gameplay reasons I imagine. Same with decals themselves, they don't seem to break or stretch on the body like in GT Sport, they look more sharp.

Not to mention the return of the GT Sport scapes and photo mode! As an amateur photographer myself, it's pure ecstasy, I love the options and everything about it! It's the perfect photo mode in a video game.

For me it's a tiny little thing, and it's the metallic pinging you get from a cooling exhaust that you can hear after the results of a race.

A stupidly tiny detail, but it's one of my favorite sounds in reality and it being in GT7 just makes me smile every time I hear it.
I hadn't even noticed this. That is really cool. I notice little things all the time but today's was while taking a photo of a taycan under heavy braking and spotting that the glowing brake discs were emitting light that was illuminating the inside of the wheel rims.

Glad PD removed the pre-race grid, from the pre-race scenes. Now, if only we could pick a spot on track and just watch a whole replay.

Yes! Definitely need the ability to have control of cameras on replays, and watch from where we choose like you say 100%.

I'm sure I remember playing a race game years ago where you could do that. Move replay camera around, zoom in and out, etc etc.

One of the old Grid games maybe ? 🤔 I forget now, but it was more than 10 years ago.
