Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

The thing about LFS is that at first glance it looks like a arcade game, but spending a few laps with it really shows how good the physics are (and the force feedback).

Yep. Polished graphics and a huge selection of tracks impressed me like everyone else, but it didn't keep me playing gt4 for long. In fact I don't remember the last time I've played, it must be somewhere around the beginning of last summer. That's coming from someone who played GT3 to death.

Yes it does. Logitech's director of marketing is a LFS racer...

From SimHQ covering E3:

After a brief discussion on the pricing and release date on the wheel with Gaming PR Rep Pamela McCracken, I was directed into a long and fascinating discussion with Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech's Director of Marketing. As luck would have it for our hobby, Ruben is a club racer from England, an avid fan of both real and simulated motorsports (specifically, Live For Speed). It was truly gratifying to know that Logitech has someone so passionate about cars, racing and race sims on the team that's developing this new product."

the G25 has tip-tronic available anyway, with the twist of a knob

Yep, and as I said earlier in this topic, any car with 7 gears (that I can think of anyway) has some sort of paddle or tiptronic gearchange (F1 car, BMW M5 etc).

What cars (that you can drive in any car games) have 7 or more forward gears and come with manual gearboxes in real life? I can't think of any...

Oh yeah, stupid me. I hadn't thought about it. So no car with 7 gears has a manual gear box. 💡

Yup ... LFS is pretty good
my first impression with keyboard was very nice
using the blue Driving force feels like heaven already
I still haven't bought DFP because I read lots of complaints
Hopefully the G25 will be more durable and reliable
but I have say the G25 is really tempting

Okay, E3's long over, but I just discovered simhq.com had some damned excellent coverage of it that I had totally missed until now. Sorry to post here, but I never actually go anywhere else on GTPlanet.net, so I'm not sure where it would go. And no, despite staring at a lot of booth babe t-shirts (even though there were no booth babes according to the report!) I saw no special sekrit Enthusia 2 t-shirts! In any case...

Thursday's report is huge, excellent and contains a bit of racing game coverage and driving wheel hardware (I think they get into driving games in depth around page 9 or 10-ish).
Friday's report wasn't quite as long, but still covers a few driving games looming on the horizon.

To make it slightly more on-topic, check out the pretty of the G25 Logitech wheel with gated shifter & clutch! M'oh my GOD! Must have! 👍

PS2 compatiable as well

Logitec
The wheel can also be used with any PlayStation®2 game that is compatible with other Logitech force-feedback wheels, including the Logitech® Driving Force™ and Logitech® Driving Force™ Pro.

For PC and PlayStation 2 games that don´t support the six-speed shifting mode, racers can switch the gearbox into sequential shifting mode, which is supported by almost all driving games. A complete list of games that support force-feedback wheels, 900-degree steering, and the six-speed shifter can be found on the G25 product information page at www.logitech.com.

Downside is that its $299 (only price mentioned)

Scaff

However this is very OT for this particular forum, so its getting moved to the
Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits forum. I will leave a re-direct link in here as well.

Edited to add - Merged with main G25 Thread

300 doesnt seem expensive at all when you consider the only other alternative to this wheel besides the dfp costs $1400 american. :P

300 seems like a great price to me. :D

I hope that the force (how hard you have to push with your feet) on the pedals is adjustable, like my (ex) speed7 pedals.

I was talking **** about this steering wheel before. Thats before I saw the godly awesome stickshift and pedals with clutch. This quite possibly the most amazing steering wheel today. Hey, driving force pro came out before GT4 was released. Could this be for GT5? Maybe not. No GT logo.

*McLaren*
Word on the streets is that Atari is working on making Test Drive work with this baby on the PC.:sly:

The Red buttons though are to make using the wheel more realistic.

GTR2 with this thing is gonna rock!
And btw, don't worry about Limited Edition. It usually means the 1st set of these made will be different somehow from the next batch.
The "Limited Edition" ones will probably be the leather-wraped wheels. I'm guessing. Seems like a limited thing to have?

And the steel bits. They'll probably replace them with hard plastic.

But that also means that the second "batch" of this wheel, is going to be cheaper.

Exactly and the "alternative" you talked about is just the wheel. G25 is a complete setup for $300 = € 234.

My only concern. Is this wheel going to be compatible with the PS3 and GT5 (vision)????

:)
