M5Power Banned?

No wonder he never private messaged me back when I asked him what times of the day were best to see these exotics and where about in the city. I was there again today since I have to see my doctor there every Friday.

Not sure what part of either city, but he spent his entire Saturday afternoons looking out for cars. 6+ hours is more than enough time to find 40-odd six-figure cars if you know where to look.

Back on topic: he did wrong, he got banned, meh. GTP is bigger than one person. He'll be forgotton in a month. Occasionally somone will say "Hey, you remember M5Power? He was always doing x" in the same way we do for Young_Warrior or MachOne. But really, once this blows over, he won't be missed.

If you ask me this is retarded, half the forum sucked his 🤬 before the banning and now that he's been banned people are jumping on the bandwagon and saying 🤬 about him. pretty sad actually.

The Banned User Log in the Site Feedback forum tells everyone what any member has done to warrant banning (permanent or temporary).

Keep in mind that I didn't read all the post in here, I just skimmed.
The issue that caused the permanent ban had nothing to do with the original ban, from what I've read so far.
It was because, he went around the original short ban, to post one more thing.
I like Doug, and have, over the years enjoyed sparring with him on some items and backing him on others.
It is heartening to see so many supporting him at this time.

However, IMHO, even the "respected old timers" should not able to blatantly break the rules, or punishments.
If anything, as the "backbone" of the community, we should be the good examples we are expected to be, and take our punishments in good grace, apologize for our inappropiateness on returning, and move on.

This is true. But if we were to consider the differences between the semi-recent ban of Poverty versus that of the ban of M5Power, the differences are very strange indeed. I think the main difference there is that Doug, on many occasions, was somewhat likable in most things that he did. Granted, there were times where we all wanted to strangle him via the interweb tubes, but there were other times in which it was good having him around...

What I've found most interesting in this thread is the amount of people who come out of the woodwork and profess their dislike of him without is presence. Odd really, as it makes you wonder how many people don't like you, and then once you leave, how many people are going to take a swing at you as you exit. Granted, even when people return they get similar negative responses... Still, odd no-less...

The person doesn't even have to leave, as long as they're not present. I've seen some pretty hateful MSN convos.

If M5Power was not banned it would've been "Doug this", "Doug that" but now that he's banned it's more like "I wish I was awesome an internet troll as M5Power." or even "Oh well, the "Did you see anything good today?" thread will be without its weekly fix of Rolls, Bentleys, Ferraris, and the occasionally rare as hell car."

Just pathetic.

For someone who's still a junior member after almost a year here (ie you don't post very often) you sure sound like you care what people think of Doug a lot. Yes people are prone to talking behind peoples backs, no it's not nice and it shouldn't be done and I'm happy to say I've not said anything in this thread that I wouldn't say if Doug was sat next to me and reading it. None of that changes the fact that Doug was banned for good reason.
 
I'm sure he's reading everything now, so it's not exactly behind his back. Plus he's not permanently banned yet so he can come back and confront all of us who don't like him if he's allowed back. Or he could just create another account and do it that way.
 
I've told Doug what I think about him in his face, so to speak... so no, I'm not talking behind his back.

The fact that many GTP members respect him and are fans of him has maybe made me think twice about saying bad things about him here before, lest I face their wrath, but since some members seem to share my view, I'm not holding back on it now.
