Two games in a row Paul Goldschmidt has hit a home run in the first inning. Hope he's turning around, been striking out a lot lately.

Strangled, choked out, kissing the canvas... maybe it was a good thing I didn't see my boys get roughed up 10-1 tonight at Milwaukee. It would be crazy to say that following the Astros is really depressing me. However, it's depressing me. We're basically playing now to avoid having the league's worst record to close out the 2012 season. That's unless the Cubs and Rockies start stumbling more consistently while we somehow get better. "One game at a time" just isn't working anymore. It is just a damned disgrace. Celebrating your 50th anniversary as a franchise, and this "golden" team is as golden as pyrite (fool's gold, if I'm not mistaken). But unlike most Facebook fans, I'm still behind the Astros.

I may not even bother watching the Astros any more this season the way we just f:censored: up everything somehow...

8-2 win over the Dodgers. We've now won 9 of our last 12 games. SF won tonight, so we're still 3.5 games back, but we're finally starting to climb the hill over the .500 mark...

when barry bonds was still skinny)

...And hes still skinny.

Probably in better shape then a lot of players playing today.

Anyways, Giants broke there longest losing streak of the year. And my god is Scutaro a beast. Can't wait to see Pence tomorrow, hes going to be a huge shot in the arm. Unlike Beltran last year who was a complainer and lazy fielder, Pence is an all or nothing guy who runs and plays hard... Kind of like how we are playing today.

Really starting to remind me of 2010. Except we won it with HRs and pitching and we are winning it with triples and stolen bases this year.

Goldschmidt is owning the Dodgers right now. So far in the 3-game series he is 7 for 11, with 2 home runs.

Edit: Johnson just hit another home run.

Edit 2: So the Dodgers change pitchers before Goldschmidt's next at-bat, then the new pitcher promptly drills him in the back with a pitch. Very classy LA.

Edit 3: Twice today Matt Williams has stopped a runner on 3rd that could have scored. Not sure what his issue is, but I hope it doesn't cost us the game...

When I checked into the game today, the Astros led 2-1. What the f:censored: happened to THAT lead? Our asses were whipped again- 13-4 in favor of the Brewers. It's August now. Who cares about a 35-something win team that's not going to anybody's postseason? I'd rather follow the Texans (and even the Rockets) than see or hear of my team losing yet another game. This is a bulls:censored: downward spiral these past few years for the Astros that just have me feeling terrible as a fan of the Astros.

Up next will be a trip to the Atlanta Braves. We're already beaten up for the season, so I'm expecting the Braves to hammer us some more unless the Braves LET us win.

Rumor floating around is that a waiver deal between the Mets and the Marlins would exchange Jason Bay for Heath Bell and John Buck.

And the rumor dissipated as fast it came.

You know who would hate that trade the most? Bell. He has a chip on his shoulder about the Mets, who traded him in a horrible 2006 deal to San Diego.

So Pence and Victorino go a combined 0 for 8 in their first games with their new teams, while Schierholtz goes 2 for 5 including what turned out to be the game-winning homer for the Phils.

Yeah, it's only one game each, but hey, this Phillies fan needs something to cheer about this season.

The 3rd baseman we picked up from the Astros is 6 for 11 in his first 3 starts, with a grand slam, another home run, and 7 total RBI's. :D

We're now 2.5 game back in the NL West after SF lost last night.

Now where's that Jaws music?

Thanks. :D

Edit: Maybe thanks again? Looks like SF may lose another game....

Yes indeed. New York pounds San Francisco again, 9-1. Chris Young off the schnide. They scored at least 5 runs in innings that began with 2 out and nobody on.

Nice. We have a tough road trip coming up though that involves the Phillies, Pirates, Nats and the Cardinals. :nervous:

Ouch, that may make or break your season.

I heard you guys released Podsednik. So much for trading for him.

And Los Angeles once again performs an epic faceplant and gets obliterated by Texas thanks to their bullpen.

Don't remind me.

Dempster will regret not going to Atlanta. Next 3 starts. Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays.

All he had to do was say yes. Then again, I blame Chicago for that stupidity.
