Breaking News: Melky Cabrera suspended 50 games without pay after testing positive for Testosterone, a performance-enhancing substance.

Ugh... Melky Cabrera is out for the rest of the season for high testosterone levels...

Time to bring up Brown...

God dammit Melky. Seriously. What he was doing doesn't even require that crap.

EDIT: Tree'd.. Though 'Testosterone' isn't the substance, that's just how they catch it.

Doh what a dummy, dude should have hammered out that contract when he had a chance. He was taking testosterone meaning he was taking steroids,im assuming he was trying to balance his levels. (note thats all speculation on my part).

The Giants probably knew about it already, because they only offered him 3/27.

We have Pablo back now, and hes a much better hitter then Cabrera and we've been winning without him all year. Year, not over.

Prosthetic

Yeah teams and players usually know in advance (p.r. crap, etc.) Oh no your season is far from over. Eh well im sure SF will re-up with him.

King Felix three outs from perfection. Straight up nasty.

And now because you said that he won't get it .

One Out: K'ed Jennings

Two Outs: Ground Out by Keppinger.

Three Outs: K'ed Rodriguez.

Felix Hernandez has thrown the 23rd perfect game in MLB history

Perfect! It was 1-0 as "King" Felix Hernandez put 27 Rays up and 27 Rays down. I'm just glad I can stop hearing about Matt Cain's perfecto against my Astros. I saw the footage on MLB Network while MLB Network was televising the Nationals at Giants game. Seattle got 1 run and five hits. Not sure if they had an error. But, it was a 1-0 shutout against Tampa Bay. They travel more than 2000 miles (or however long it takes to get from Tampa Bay to Seattle) and are the victims of a Perfect Game.

Speaking of Houston... we failed. 7-2 in Chicago against the Cubs. Next series will be a grudge match- Diamondbacks and Astros. This time, here in Houston. Probably won't make much difference because the D-Backs will likely snake bite our already snakebit season this weekend. Yay, us...

Congratulations to all other winners! And this just in- SF failed at home against WAS. The Giants fell 6-3 against Washington.

I saw a story on MLB.com that Melky can still win the batting title since he is only one AB short of qualifying and they can add a theoretical AB and his avg stays the same. Obviously dependent on how McCutchen, Votto etc go.

My first thought was, should he be allowed to win it? He has been busted for performance enhancing drugs which, by definition, probably had a upward impact on his numbers.
Is it sending the message that as long as you get caught late enough in the season, your tainted numbers are still eligible for awards?

Here is the story by the way.

We got our butts kicked tonight. I've already conceded that we're no more than an 'average' team this year. They hover around the .500 mark like their lives depend on it or something.

Try being a Red Sox fan.

They suck, and blame it on Fracona.
They hire Valentine, who sucks, they still suck, but not because of Valentine.

Funny how baseball works. We went into Florida, err, Miami, for a three-game set with Hamels, Kendrick and Halliday in the rotation, and we ended up going 2-1 in the series. Now any same person would have said that Hamels and Doc would have been the winners and Kendrick the loser, but Kendrick pitched a great game and won, 1-0. Meanwhile Doc pitched plenty good enough to win, giving up three runs over seven innings, but Buerhle pitched just a bit better; two runs also over seven innings. At which point the Phillies bullpen imploded yet again, six runs in the eighth. :ouch:

LOL. The Rangers just choked.

And yet still won, because Joba can't pitch anymore.

In other games:

Kris Medlen shuts down the Friars: 6-0 Atlanta.

Matt Harvey pitches 7.2 Innings of 1 run ball, Mets over the Reds 8-4.

Liriano leads the ChiSox over Toronto: 7-2.

Boston beats Baltimore 6-3.

Pittsburgh beats a Kempless LA: 10-6.

Should Melky be eligible for the batting title? Sure. He would have won it after all. I'm all in favor of asterisk'd records.

We're losing 1-0 and will probably end up losing this game and getting swept because we can't seem to get anyone past 2nd base. Ridiculous when the leadoff guy gets a single, then the next three batters get themselves out on a grand total of 5 pitches.

Edit: Yep, we lost 1-0, and swept. Pitiful.

Edit 2: Are you KIDDING ME!?!?!

Edit 3: Anyone heard the TV broadcaster for the White Sox, and how annoying he is?

Understatement of the millennium. If I'm ever stuck watching the Sox I prefer the other team tying or winning the game because then he acts all sad and its funny.

Sad to hear of that man dying of a heart attack at a Blue Jays game. Speaking of dead, my Astros are just limping to the finish line. Coming to Houston are R1600Turbo's Diamondbacks. To say we're playing spoiler is a massive understatement. The Astros' woes were inflated after the All-Star Break, winning about five games since the break. Astros will just have to do whatever they can to finish this season with at least something to smile about, and it all continues with what my poor hometown team can do against Arizona.

Everyone- enjoy the weekend series!

It was running back then. That still doesn't change the fact that the umpires aren't allowed to reverse that type of call through replay.
