Dodgers choked. Giants demolishing the Padres and Matt Cain pitching beautifully. If we maintain the lead we will be right back in first.

Apparently Bochy threw a BBQ at his house last night to get the team together. I still can't believe how poorly MLB handled this situation.

Handled what situation?

3-1 win tonight in Houston. Not the best of wins, but we'll take it. Corbin on the mound tomorrow, if he keeps pitching like he's been pitching his last couple starts, should be an easy win.

I only saw the end of the game on MLB Tonight. It was 3-1 with Wade Miley winning. This victory was also where Kubel wasn't in ARI's lineup. Still, the Astros couldn't get two runs to force Extra Innings, or three runs to win. The Astros have now lost their 81st game of the season.

Handled what situation?

MLB failed to inform the Giants of the situation three weeks earlier. Then proceeded to tell them an hour before a game started. I'm all for punishing people who break the rules, but at that point your punishing other players too.

We've scored 6 runs in the top of the 5th, still nobody out. Leading 7-3.

Edit: Make that 9 runs in the 5th. (2 out now though)

Edit 2: Final score 12-4. Chris Young with a 4 for 5 night, including a home run. Nice to see that. 👍

D-Backs will likely sweep us. I gave up watching the whole Astros' season once they started failing constantly. I cared more about the Texans game and watching bits and pieces of "Truth in 24" on SPEED than see even one at-bat of the 2012 Astros. Good job by the Snakes.

The Angels were leading 8-0 after 3 innings, now they are losing 10-8. Who pushed their pitching off a cliff and into a sea of New York Mets-like pitching?

Oh look, a Mets reference. Santana now has set another record, allowing 6 ER in his past 6 starts, how useful. Niese pitched 7.2 strong against the Nats in a win. Season is over, natch.

No hitter alert in Kansas City.

Edit: No hitter is over, on a hit that should have been ruled an error. 👎

That's a hit any day of the week. A play from that deep in the hole with momentum taking you to left field is not a routine play.

I'm talking error on the first baseman for it bouncing out of his glove.

We're 2 outs away from sweeping the Astros.

I have not once seen an error given on a ball in the dirt. Not once. It's the same thing with wild pitches. If the ball is in the dirt, it's always a wild pitch.

Wholesale changes in management and coaching for the Astros. Especially considering this unacceptable stretch when we had so much momentum, SOMETHING had to change. Maybe these changes will be for the better when heading to the American League next season. MAYBE. Still, this is unacceptable failure. I don't care what your favorite team(s) is/are. When yours lose as many games as my Astros, you would feel like doing anything lethal or dangerous to yourself than watch another moment of your team failing.

This said, there's still plenty of season left. Keep on keeping on if your team(s) still have any postseason hopes. If not, feel free to move on to some other sport you love besides baseball.

Melky might get a bigger suspension.

One might think his suspension could have been reduced if he just honestly admitted he did it (wouldn't be though). Now there's a chance he may have cost himself 2013 as well.
