ASTROS WIN!!!

We won in walk-off fashion- a 4-3 victory. Believe it or not, I read the we won our first-ever walk-off victory of the season. It was Mr. Brian Bogusevic. The Astros were rocking their '90-style uniforms tonight. It doesn't help the fact we're now 40 games under .500, but getting a win really helps. Astros now 37-77. The victory celebration went into about the middle of the ballpark. Hell, I'd be damned excited to get a win after enduring the futility the Astros took on! So anyone who would think our celebration is excessive, shut it.

The MLB Network crew talked about how front office management shouldn't get rid of Brad Mills just on the horrific record of the Astros this season. It ain't going to get any better heading into the AL West next season, but this is both refreshing and positive.

How did your boys do today/tonight?

ANOTHER WALK-OFF for the Astros!

Milwaukee Pen surrenders 2 hits and two walks in the 10th inning to lose. Lopez blew the save in the 9th but managed to stay in and win it for Houston.

ASTROS WIN... AGAIN!

Nothing to play for anymore, so the Astros decide that NOW is the time to play winning baseball. We won 4-3 on Friday night in walk-off fashion, and we won 6-5 in walk-off fashion on Saturday. This time- in extra innings. That's right- we FINALLY win an extra-inning game this season. It took 10 innings to pull this one out. The hero this time around was Scott Moore for the Astros. (Doing my best Charlie Sheen impersonation) Winning for the Astros was Wilton Lopez, and the loser was J. Henderson.

I'd be surprised if we sweep the Brewers in this series, but every win for the Astros at this point helps regain my sanity in my hometown team. All we're playing for now is to avoid having the worst record of any MLB team this season.

Horrible game yesterday with 3 errors and we pretty much gave Washington the 6-5 win. Those are the worst loses, those 1-run games. :indiff:

So far today we have 1 run on 0 hits, so Washington's got a couple errors.

Patrick Corbin doing great so far. 7 set down in a row at the moment with 3 or 4 strikeouts.

The Astros took 2 out of 3 from the Brewers. We lost 5-3 (I believe) today. Another loss for Jordan Lyles (who I think needs to be in the minors or traded).

Elsewhere, how do you like your beatdown? Ask Boston what they did today- a 13-1 thrashing today at the Cleveland Indians. * I even saw highlights of the Dodgers blanking the Marlins in Miami. The LAD pitcher was working with a no-hitter until the Marlins managed to hit. It ended up being a two-hitter for the Dodgers. * The Mariners finally won a series against the Angels with the game in Anaheim. I think it was a 4-1 victory for the Seattle Mariners. * I saw a number of the games in progress on MLB Network. That even includes the rough day the Nationals had in playing at the D-Backs. R1600Turbo's boys won 7-4.

Most of those runs given up were from the bullpen too. Corbin was lights out today. Not bad for a kid that skipped Triple-A ball and came straight to the Majors from Double-A.

...and the Giants won again, so no movement in the standings from the top 3.

Posey has been on another level... Jesus. 1 for 1 today with 3 walks and a game tying SF. Which was followed by a bomb to left center by Pence. First as a Giant and a gamer winner. 5 runs in the 8th to beat the Rockies 9-6.

Belt went 4-4 with a walk and a couple doubles. Hes been heating up. Theriot with a couple hits, and another good day for Scutero. Really can't wait for Panda to come back our 1-7 is going to be filthy. Oh, another big game for Pagan... When that guy hits hes unbelievable.

Blue Jays beat the White Sox in a walk-off, and Steve Delabar became the first pitcher ever to get 4Ks in an extra inning

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Johnny Pesky, who died at the age of 92(?). He was a huge part of baseball, especially among Boston Red Sox faithful. How will you remember Johnny Pesky?

Well I felt bad that Washington took 2 of 3 over the weekend, but wow.....glad I'm not a Giants fan right now.

Edit: What's with all the lined shots back at pitchers the last couple days. 3 really close, nasty ones I've seen so far. :nervous:

We're now one win away from the 40-win mark on our depressing season after a 10-1 thrashing of the Cubs in Chicago. I was surprised to look on Facebook and see "blow out of Cubs." The assumption was that my team won. Then after checking scores on Yahoo! Sports, I saw the score and was proud of my boys. The season is over for us, so every subsequent win just keeps my sanity that much more in check. The Astros' 2012 season ends at the Cubs. So basically, this is a bottom-of-the-barrel match in the NL Central. Unless all four teams ahead in the NL Central go on some kind of epic losing streak while the Cubs and Astros go on epic winning streaks, the Astros are likely going to leave the National League with the worst record of any NL Central team this season.

We got our butts kicked tonight. I've already conceded that we're no more than an 'average' team this year. They hover around the .500 mark like their lives depend on it or something.
