Just wrapped up! It was 12-11 as the Chicago Cubs took down the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field. They were down 11-9 heading into the Bottom of the 9th.

Later tonight, my Astros will *try* to avoid getting swept AGAIN when they take on the Giants. BIG series for the D-Backs at the Dodgers. This is where if the Snakes want to make some noise, this is the series they need to really win some games in. Playing at the Dodgers is not going to be easy.

Fixed that for you. ;)

And I don't care if we win or not tonight, our season is officially over. Just have to keep San Diego behind us.

Where are you that the Astros are playing the Cubs tonight?

And then we'd be doing a what if scenario of you dropping your camera :dopey:.

Thank God I didn't, it definitely wasn't one of the cheapo ones, it was like a $2,000 one that I borrowed from my grandparents. Yeah, if I had to choose, I'd choose the camera unfortunately, lol.

I was sitting front row down down the line in LF at AT&T 6-7 years ago when Bonds tossed a ball over our direction at the end of an inning. The lady next to me got it, which is fine as it was her Bday. I was also tossed a ball from a Ranger (can't remember who) at a expedition game at AT&T (Pac Bell then). And my sister got a ball from Russ Ortiz during batting practice once.

Exhibition or Expedition? A ball nearly hit me at a Met game.

I edited the previous post of mine. Besides, we play at the Cubs to end the season. My most sincere apologies. I'm human after all.

...and the Astros found another way to lose. Even the Astros' Facebook fan page tries to offer some positive notes from us continually failing. For example, it may say that a player collects a certain number of hits or bangs out a home run "...in a loss." I think I even read on Twitter how the interim coach (who was the head coach of Triple-A Oklahoma City) is winning in AAA ball without him. Black clouds over the Astros with hardly any silver lining in sight (except for this season almost coming to an end). Still doesn't suppress any pain from losing 8-4 against San Francisco even while leading 4-3 for most of the game.

Will your team(s) make the postseason? Current leaders will need to keep their lead up to fend off opposition in all of the divisions and leagues. Here is a look at the standings (courtesy: Yahoo! Sports). Will your team play in this year's postseason, or will they have to settle for next season?

--- AMERICAN LEAGUE ---
AL EAST: New York Yankees (75-55), BAL (72-58), TB (71-60), BOS (62-70), TOR (59-71)
AL CENTRAL: Chicago White Sox (72-58), DET (69-61), KC (59-71), CLE (55-76), MIN (53-78)
AL WEST: Texas (77-53), OAK (73-57), LAA (69-62), SEA (64-68)

--- NATIONAL LEAGUE ---
NL EAST: Washington (79-51), ATL (74-51), PHI (62-69), NYM (61-70), MIA (59-72)
NL CENTRAL: Cincinnati (80-52), STL (71-60), PIT (70-60), MIL (62-68), CHC (50-80), HOU (40-91)
NL WEST: San Francisco (74-51), LAD (70-62), ARI (65-67), SD (61-71), COL (53-76)

--- OTHERS ---
OVERALL RECORD...
* Best: CIN (80-52, .608)
* Worst: HOU (40-91, .305)

STREAKS...
* Best: OAK (6 straight wins)
* Worst: HOU (5 straight losses)

HOME/AWAY RECORDS:
* BEST HOME: TEX (43-25)
* BEST ROAD: WAS (42-27)
* WORST HOME: MIN (25-40)
* WORST AWAY: HOU (13-53)

Teams still in it- you have one last month to make your statement if you're trailing. Teams OUT of it (like my f:censored:ing Astros)- just play to win to build some sort of confidence for next season.

Good luck to all of your teams and have a great weekend.

Right now, the teams that made the biggest splashes in terms of moves over the past 12 months:
LA Dodgers
LA Angels
Miami Marlins
Detroit Tigers
Would ALL miss the playoffs.

Marlins would probably be in contention for a wild card spot if the walls were moved in 10 feet.

I think trading away the whole team for pitchers confirms what kind of park it is.

Can't tell if serious?

The Marlins would have hit more home runs but the opponent would also.

29-40 on the road is a big issue.

Diamondbacks just re-claimed Cody Ransom from Milwaukee on wavers.

Why get rid of him in the first place if you're just going to take him back? :odd:

Angels win 9 to 1 over the Mariners.

A's win 20 to 2 over the Red Sox.................

God we're never gonna get up in the standings at this rate :ouch: Not to mention Texas also won today..........:ill: Oh well, I'd rather keep winning than keep losing.

4-3 win over LA. Kubel with the go-ahead homer in the top of the 11th. We've now won 8 straight against the Dodgers. :crazy: I'm still convinced our season is over, so you're welcome Prosthetic. :P

Looks like the Cubbies had some fun with the Giants today.

Yeah, I didn't expect much after a day game after travel and game the night before. Players got to the stadium 5-6 hours after they got off the plane. Rough night.

Haha thanks... Dodgers are really scuffling.

Giants won today and new Giant Xavier Nady started his Giant career with a bang with a 3 RBI double down the left field line. He used to be a pretty solid player with some pop but ran into lots of injury problems. Hope he can stay healthy because LF has been a black hole for us.

In other news...

CHRIS HESTON WOOOO

Can't wait to see what all of our young pitchers can do. He could be in our rotation as soon as 2014, he will pitch in Fresno next year and if he does well in the monster hitters league that the PCL is he could get a September call up next year. Giants scout sure have an eye for pitchers.

And the Marlins bullpen blows up. (Well, that and bad fielding). Cishek allows 4 runs (3 earned) in 2/3 of an inning and the Mets win 5-3. Looking to sweep Sunday.

Undefeated to start September 2012! The Astros finally remembered what winning feels like as we won 2-1 in walk-off style. I read it began with us getting a solo jack followed by a bases loaded RBI single for the Astros to win 2-1. So for once... the Astros win. And I think this is the first win for the interim Astros' coach. Take a win however you can get it. So it's a happy day for once to be an Astros fan. You just wish the Astros (if you're a fan) had more wins rather than that brutal losing stretch after the All-Star Break.

So the Astros [finally] win. Did your team(s) win too?

Rookie Jurickson Profar goes yard in his first at bat in the big leagues. Then Hambone, Beltre, and Murph go back to back to back HRs. It's good to be a Ranger. 8)

Mets swept up the Fish. Good times keep rolling (even when we are waaaaaaaaaay out of it). Bay goes with a salami and now we have won 7 of our last 9 games.

This must be the rule- team (finally) wins, get excited, fail the next game. Or is it? Astros led 1-0 later in the game, end up failing 5-3 to the Reds. We just can't buy a break. Every win for the Astros just seems feels like fluke wins considering how the 'Stros just can't win and keep winning. We're almost basically playing just to get the season over with so they can be energized for 2013 in the American League. That's unless the Astros want to avoid being a doormat for three successive seasons if they stink up 2013 as well. Maybe instead of Astros jerseys, the team should be wearing "Help Wanted" or "Wins Wanted" jerseys. (cue British or Irish accent) Bloody shame, I tell ye' what!

That's all. Enjoy Labor Day baseball.

Getting a TV package upgrade which includes ESPN America so I'll finally be able to watch at least some baseball on TV over the pond in the UK. Up to now I've had to put up with internet streaming and the low quality MLB TV free broadcast for each day of play, so this will be a brilliant step up!
