- The retention plate length can be shortened and can be rounded of at the top to follow the contours of the realistic break mod bracket so that it fits WITHIN the realistic break mod bracket not ON TOP of it. Maybe there are variations between the US and UK models?

-The middle of the bracket imo could be routered so it doesn't have any sharp edges.

- The Aesthetics of the retention plate can be better.

I never even considered square vs round for the supplied bracket edges, LOL.

They are easy enough to round off on your own with a straight edge file & sandpaper.

Guess its the same reason I don't get too worked up over aesthetics of a retention bar in a brake well.

Yes I completely agree. In my haste to get the new kit out there, I only took a photo of the bushings and put them on the site :)

This is how I have been using mine for the last couple of months.

I found using 2 bushings to be a bit too stiff, my pedals are in the GT position.

I cut a couple of strips off of an old gym mat to keep 1 bushing from moving around.

Works great, braking has really improved since installing the Basher mod.

70 durometer bushing offer much more resistance for gentle breaking. I find this useful in F12012 or Dirt 3 when there are often close skirmishes with the car in front. You don't want to break too much otherwise they'll take an advantage.

As with any bushings these will wear in time so instead of dunking them in hot water like some skateboarding sites recommend, I'll leave them be. Remember to calibrate brake configuration after installation in games like Assetto Corsa.

Yeh man being OCD is a disease

Looks great, I need to try out single bushes at some stage.

Fresh off the CNC: (Racingworld68, this is literally THE plate you're getting...)

Apologies for the hand... It was the only way I could get the light to hit it properly on short notice. Looks pretty cool in person.

Nice, looks good !!

mrbasher...received my kit today so many thx's for that will test over the weekend..just one thing whats with the, whats looks like a off cut of foam with the kit, or were you cleaning your room and the bin was full and hmm were can i put this..i know the UK...lol

Good grief that was quick... either that or I'm getting old. :)

I thought I emailed you the instructions for this but maybe not... If not, I sincerely apologize. I have not been including them on international orders because it literally bumps the shipping cost from $7 to $9... That's right, a single piece of paper. From them:

If using a single bushing... Insert the bushing so it is to one side,
then insert the included foam piece, small end first so it’s smooth side faces the bushing.

Here are the instructions: http://www.basherboards.com/support/T500RS-BMKInstructions.pdf

Yeh post wasn't bad at all..yeh you did email me the instructions guess i missed the bit about the foam, maybe we're both getting to old..and again thx's.

Well been testing for the last few hours, and yes it does make a difference in a positive way, started off with the two soft bushings, but in the end moved it down to just one of them, two doesn't allow enough travel in the pedal to me and not enough control over heavy braking, one works great.

Thank you for the feedback. It seems everyone has a different impression of what feels good and works for them. :) This is why I decided to provide so many options in the kit.

I'm hoping to make some graphs of pressure vs. brake output using the different combinations as well as the stock brake mod. The results should be interesting. I might also do the same with my set of CSP V2 (which I don't use) if I don't sell them first.

I probably should not have mentioned that...

The short answer, is that I don't like the feel of them. (edit: as much)

For example, I use the two purple bushings on my pedals. I like the feel it gives and I am pressing them all the way down. If I applied the same pressure on the CSP's repeatedly, I would be going through load cells left and right. ;)

Looks really nice and I have an idea already for that too 💡

Pedal travel and individual breaking force boils down to user preference and setup (whether someone has hard mounted or not; plays with socks or shoes etc etc)

But your kit allows everyone to experiment and find something which suits them.

My pedals are mounted onto a GT Omega stand and I use normal flip flops. With the 2 purple bushings installed I can still press the pedal all the way down progressively.

Received my package today :) Will give it a try tonight. Thanks again for your fast services. 👍

EDIT ; Installed and tested the 63 durometer.... incredible how a simple solution like this can have such a big impact.... love the feeling 👍

Just saw your edit :) Thanks for reporting back. So you only used one 60 durometer? (the orange one)

It still amazes me the variation in what people like for brake stiffness. :)

No I use two orange one's. Feels so great !!! I would advise it to everybody !!

Awesome :)

I ran a 39 lap V8 Supercar league race last night after running about an hour of practice, then the warm up and qualifying... I can still feel it in my left knee this morning LOL :) I use the two purple ones.

I have owned the basherboards brake mod for the t500rs for a month and this is my review. First off I had the dfgt wheel for over 3 years and did quite well with it but during GT Academy North America season 2 the pedals and paddels had broke and I had to settle with 162 place so after that I wanted to upgrade to the best wheel for gt5 so I purchased the t500rs wheel thinking that more expensive the wheel the better. The t500rs wheel brake absolutely SUCKS! and the realistic brake mod SUCKS even more. I definitely will have to say the cheap dfgt wheel is better than the t500rs. After owning it for half a year I had to find a solution or I was going to sell the wheel. I found 2 products the bodin solutions load cell and the basherboards brake mod. I wanted the bodin solutions load cell but they where out of stock so I went with basherboards brake mod. To test the brake mod I did 2 time trials on gt5 seasonal events and with the dfgt I on average ranked in the 300-400 range. At first I used both purple bushings but it was to stiff for my liking so I switched to both orange bushings but still to stiff so than I tried just one purple bushing and its absolutely perfect. On time trial No.59 with the nissan gtr on cape ring I ranked 206 which is the best I ever done and on time trial No.60 I ranked 235 with the tvr speed 6 on nurburgring. Now I can say the thrustmaster T500RS wheel is a much better wheel than the dfgt due to basherboards $16 brake mod. Thank you basherboards:tup:

fowklore,

Thank you for the excellent review! Top 250 is nothing to sneeze at... Nice work!

It really does add another dimension to your ability to brake with some level of confidence. Stock, you really have to rely solely on WHERE your foot is, not necessarily how hard you are pressing on the pedal.

On another note, I ran out of these bushings over the weekend and a few people have been waiting for the new ones to arrive. It's surprising how popular these have become. This is the most recent restock. :D

Just a tiny bit of news...

Anyone that purchases my T500RS Brake Mod will receive a coupon code for $10 off the Bodin Load Cell Mod for the T500 pedals. John and I plan to work on a few projects going forward and this sounded like a good way to kick things off. :D

Anyone that previously purchased the mod from me will also be receiving the coupon code via email. So keep on the lookout for it!

Very nice, but to be honest I am quite happy with the way this works. So my question ; will this even be more different from what I have now ?

Well I haven't personally tested John's mod yet, but will be soon. :) Likewise John hasn't tested mine, so we are both a little in the dark on that... For now. :)

I will be happy to hear about it when youve tested it :)

Can't wait to try out my new brake mod which I just ordered a couple of days ago. Hopefully it won't take too long to cross the Pacific Ocean and land in Oz!

I will be posting my feedback after some solid testing. It would be great if it can improve my lap times in the Online Time Trials just like fowklore.

Just saw your brake mod on simracingtonight. Very nice work there!

I also just ordered the mod, I also read a lot about is and now I look forward to receive the mod.

I now use my own mod which is made from a ver tough isolation foam, it works well also the there is less travel, and it is really really stiff, but for me it is good.

I hope, and expect mrbashers mod to be better than mine.

Hrm, I defintely need to find an easier way to switch gear on the rSeat. lol

Awesome review on the brake mod, and happy to hear you guys are going to work together. Let's hope two great minds bring even greater mods and sim hardware to the rig. :)

Good luck in the future with the allience of the Jo(h)ns. Haha ;)
