Get ready for a 30 lap one-make race, on the highly technical Grand Prix course of the Nürburg.

NrburgringGP_F.jpg

Info: The race will take place on february the 3rd. The lobby will be opened at 18.30 GMT, and the race will begin at 20.05 GMT. Damage and tire/fuel wear will be set to max. The event is expected to be aprox. 1 hours & 45 minutes long. Should you wish to participate in the event, you have to sign up in this thread, or by PM to me. Furthermore you have to attend at least one practice session, in order to prove yourself capable of driving clean and fair. There will be plenty of practice sessions to join before the event.

If you sign up, I expect you to be commited. Should something prevent you from joining, you need to PM me as soon as possible. Furthermore, I expect participants to stay up to date on rules, and to not quit the race under any circumstances. If you can't follow these simple rules, then don't bother signing up. I've had it with people who sign up, only to forget about it the next day.

Restrictions:

This event is exclusive to the Race modified Golf IV '01. Each participants most choose his/hers own colour and number. Please remember to inform me of what colour/number you have chosen when you sign up.

You may not buy additional upgrades to the car, other than what comes with the race modification. Participants are allowed to tune the transmission, suspension and aerodynamics. As long as you drive without ABS, you can alter brake bias too. All aids except ABS are disabled. Particpants are allowed to choose between all the different Sports tires.

Yeah I'll also participate in this race too, especially now I hear they have tweaked the ABS via the last update.

I'll update you with my car colour and number in a little while. Looking forward to it.

To elaborate on my earlier post:

Car number: 43

Colour: GT FLUORESCENCE 006-W or as us humans know it, bright yellow from the DLC :)

I would like to enter this to, let you know what number and colour later. Have to go and buy one.

I would like to enter this.

Good to hear. Could you please be more specific about the colour though? :)
Just when ever you have time, as it makes it easier for others who might choose green.

No Chassis Reinforcement or Adjustable LSD? I assume not, but want to make sure.
Are we allowed to adjust the Aero?

Thanks for letting me know about the colour. As LSD does not come with the race modification, that's a negative. I will however, add aero tuning to the list of allowed tuning.

Chassis reinforcement is a no go aswell.

Sounds good.
Should be an interesting race. I did an hour of testing. I don't think fuel will come into play, but the number of tire stops will be something to watch as strategy should be key if it is close. And I think it could be since the cars are the same and low HP. I don't think we'll see anyone throwing down consistent laps in the low 2:20s, but you never know.
As for when we can get together and practice...the next time I'll be available will be the 12th and 13th and possibly the 7th as well. Just letting you know.

About the practice sessoins. Don't expect too many until after the 21th, as I have an event schedueled for the 20th which is my main focus.

is tires Sport tires?? As its an endurance race it should be set to Slicks!
Actually, the going trend is to use Sports or even Comfort tires. They are much more comparable to the real life grip of racing tires.
I know the Izod Indy Car series on here uses Comfort Hards/Mediums.

And I'm back after a weeks vacation, courtesy of the GTP admins...
I'm assuming that you guys from E.I. Racing are driving as a team or something? If so, I'll allow identical colours. Practice sessions should be comming shortly.

Yes, we are racing as one team. We may also have another person joining also if thats ok? Great thanks.

As regards the ABS my wheel only has a 10% modulation zone as it is not a fully recognised controller. Because of this modulating braking is difficult and im wondering if it is possible to have ABS at 1. I will still be gentle with brakes as tire ware is an issiue.

OK. I've altered the rules to allow ABS. However, people using ABS are NOT allowed to do anything to the brake bias. So you'll have to drive with stock brake bias of 5:5 if you drive with ABS.

Is it too late or is it possible for me to join ?

The specs are a stock rm golf and only mods are cosmetics and aero correct ?

No abs higher than 1 ? And also any sport tire compound can be used right ?

What should the hp be on a fully broken in golf ?

Psn : skengdigi

Yes, after you've race modded it you can alter the suspension, aero and transmission. You can use whatever ABS setting you wish, but if you do use ABS, you may not change the brake bias. Participants can choose between any of the Sport tires. I don't know the highest possible BHP of the RM Golf, as I haven't driven it enough to brake it in. You can do a oil change on it whenever you want.

btw. What colour and number is your car?

I will setup my car today and then post again with my color and number .

One more question , how will you be able to check drivers brake balance to make sure they are on 5 / 5.

The brake bias is always 5/5, unless you've changed it. Just go to the tuning menu and check under brakes.

Who do you recommend I add to psn who will be practicing often before the race ?
