Fame, sent ya request to psn. I was having z hard time deciding the number of racers per team myself. But i had another idea about the teams being split between rookie, amat., and pro. I have been practicing with the wheel on prologue and am new the series, where have i been, ah well its all good, on to my point, i was thinking that we could have teams in rookie level, pro level, amatuer level, coaches for each of these teams or captains of these teams to get everyone together, i know myself i am definately a rookie. But i think maybe we can get enough people that are interested and skills levels the same. Think of it as the Varsity, Junior Varisty and Freshman teams.

Guess we can decide on where to place people based on their lap, or their own feeling of the game after it launches.
I am thinking four to a team in this situation would best, i voted for six. its ever changing i guess.

Rookie sqaud: Hurricane43 Team name to follow
one day i will make varsity i swear i will lol.

I will Join your team. ROOKIE team for the win!!!

I guess in the first week or so, we will all more or less be rookies, getting used to the physics, and getting used to the controlling via the wheels and such. The weeks after that i guess we will start to see some of the stars rising out of this group of people and from there base a judgement.

Add me in :) PSN: JIMMY_D33

Im a g25 user, just want some other g25/g27 users on my friendlist ;) btw Good idea Mcswagg... Cant wait to do a couple of laps around the nurburgring :D my fave track ever

guys , just got the game today in a store in france (Micromania) , i don't live to far from the france Border so it was less then 1 hour drive :P

I can confirm g27 works perfectly , just plug and Drive :D paddle shifters are working also.

been playing all night lol addictive shiz :D

At the rate we are joining. I would say 6 people as long as the connection is stable
A miata would be a good staring car not too powerfull but with a short wheel base. All cars should have. The same mods that way we have a standard way of comparering each others & measure improvements.
As we master a class : power level. We could move to something a bit more spicy like the s2000 or nissan to practice for GT academ y

Just some ideas.
If a car is built with no aids in real life. then that car should be driven without aids.

Hi i'm quite new her, but not to sim racing. I was a part of "RaceDepartment" BMW Mini league in Race07.
Also i can only race in full manual+clutch+all aids off. It's the only way to race/sim.

I would really like to join you guys on track for some, - clean, all aids off and gentlemanly racing.

Region: Scotland and up for racing anytime day/night.

sorry guys just noticed that messages need approval.

Hi PaulieGTR, please remember to not double post in the forums. If someone hasn't replied yet, just edit your previous post instead, thanks.

Hi gtp users, I have a really important question, some of my team mates are G27 users, they are worried about some rumors saying G27 f1 style gears will not work in GT5 :ouch: I've heard G27 cluch is ok, anybody know sometnhing about the pads behind the wheel?

Thanks in advance! 👍

@Moderators, sorry if I'm using bold characters and posting the same message in 2 different threads but it's really important. Thanks

I would imagine the wheel users out there are pretty numerous and so I voted for 6 on a team.

I agree that to get the best experience, it should be pro physics with no aids, although i often leave ABS on 1, since it's in a different menu.

If we are all going to be racing together and comparing notes, so to speak, then I don't see a problem with people doing their own tuning. The only reason I'd say we should be on pro physics is because, at least on prologue, it's bloody easy to control the car on standard physics, but it takes a lot of style out of the gameplay when you don't have to worry about the back end coming loose...and I don't know about you guys but I care about drifting, and now that I'm getting the hang of it I don't see myself going back.

If anyone else is into drifting we could try to get some tandem drifts going too, although I'm not anywhere near good enough for that atm.

I voted 6. I think 6 would increase the chances of having some team mate online at a given time. But heck it could be anything, we might find out it works better with teams of 4 or 8 or whatever. I think non-permanent teams made by dividing members by skill level every now and again would be keep compititions even and lets people get to know eachother more. Other-wise im on Hurricane43's Rookie squad :)

Good morning to all, or afternoon to those in europe. We are only days away or in some cases people have been up all night playing the game. Lucky you.

Well looks like we have a dead heat with 4 and 6 member teams 10 to 10. Well anyway for those that just purchased the wheel and seat like myself, i can't say how much better and fun it really is when using it. I have been playing Prologue for the last couple nights and its addicting lol, imagine when Weds comes. I can say this should be a great learning curve for all of us in the physics in GT5 but with practice we shouldd be ok.

A fun league with some good competition is much needed in the online community. I guess alot of us will start out with the A spec for couple days, while going online to check things out. We have plenty of time and this should be a fun time as we waited this long for this game.

It would be cool to have a league where he have a small review of the race and teams/drivers. Maybe not every race but important ones.

For example: Fame and Hurricane went one on one on this night at nurden track. The race consisted of three laps on this masterpeice of a trakc. As the race started Hurricane took the lead as Fame was close behind, the race was encountered by rain in the night time as both drivers cautionsly took the turns. Fame gained ground and lead after the first lap. Hurricane and Fame went nose to nose till the final lap, and as the final turn came around, Hurricane gained ground, and tried to pass Fame around the last turn to the finish line. Hurricane's front bumper hit Fame's back passenger bumper, and Hurricane in the night and the rain skidded out just enough for Fame to take the win. What a race it was. Replay is up for viewing in the league's official topic.

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry to ask once again, but my english is very bad.
Gt5 with G27?
--> Clutch works or not?
Some say yes here in this forum - who tested it, and if testet, was it tested with g27 or g25.

I'm so worried and sceptical because of some statements of Kaz at the last wednesday "start-show" of gt5. Here he stated, that there were problems with g27 (clutch-cheat) and therefore g27 is not fully supported.

Thank you alot for one last answer as a conclution for all, especally for me :)

Haha, that sounds awesome Hurricane.

heres another idea i thought of:

With the teams, however many there are in a team, i think there should be a rotation of drivers in teams.
Could be like a season thing that we do. So we race a certain amount of races at certain amount of tracks, after the last race in that season, drivers are "open to negotiation". Where they can be approached by other teams to join, this would mix things up, and again, get us to know other people.
We could have something like Driver CV's where we note down our best things we done in that season, to attract teams to take us on for the next season ahead.
Now its obvious that teams will want the best of the best racers out there. So naturally there should be a restriction. So if we take Hurricane's 3 league teirs system for example, Given that there are 6 players on each team, 2 drivers from each league teir (2 from Varsity, 2 from Pre-Varsity, 2 from Hurricane's Rookie league) Therefore keeping everything fair and drivers mixing with other drivers from each league.

Again, just an idea that can obviously fleshed out with a little more thought process, but it would work well once we implement teams and leagues and such so drivers can get to know other drivers and tips will be shared among drivers more that way too.

Hey Guys,

New here, though I'd join with the up coming release of GT5. Seems like a great forum. I have my collectors edition on the way. I'm hoping to catch a good deal on the G27 this week and should be online in, hopefully, no time. I'll update everybody with a new PSN as the one I have right now doesn't quite fit the bill lol. Cheers.

Hi there, I cannot beliefe this post (would be too great):

"G27 paddles, shifter, and clutch all work in GT5. As do the rev lights on the wheel. To enable the clutch, you can press triangle at any time after the start of the race, pressing triangle again deactivates the clutch. There is no on screen indicator that you've activated the clutch, but you will know quickly when you try to shift and it slams you into neutral."

I read some bad news concerning last wednesday's gt5-start party. Kaz said, due to clutch-cheat-problems the g27 is not fully supportet.

My Question: Where did you get this infromation? Do you have a g27 and gt5?

Good idea didn't think or well thought about the amount of people from the respective team that would be online, meaning more on each team would be the merrier i assume, as for me id be online prob evening time and soemtimes late afternoon, 5pm eastern, and on weekends avail whenever.

@ Huggy good stuff their, I like that possibility.

Also i was thinking we should choose in the beginning one or two tracks that we will race on, so that we have all competitive races, or for the most part in the beginning of "season 1", so that we can practice and all get educated on that track. I would say a non complex track for season 1, say maybe we have
a ten game(races) season 1 on track "X". Have rookie teams & varsity teams.
Man i'm gonna start the rookie league when i make it too 100 posts lol.

Practice runs an hour before game time or so. talk to each other about strategy with people on our teams.

Hey guys,

I've had a G25 since GT5 was supposed to be released a few years ago, its fantastic but havn't used it in a while. The idea of all of us racing together is great and would like some G25/27 users in my friends list too, so count me in!!

I agree with the previous reply, you should have a poll to see when people are most available.

K,

My new PSN id will be the same as my user name here

I know this probably isn't the proper thread to post in, but, it would be great if anybody can point out any leads on a g27 for a bargain price. That is, for those that may be interested in snatching one for the release. I'm desperately searching for one so that I can enjoy it to the fullest.

Thanks to all the guys who sent me there region. I have quite some updating to do on the front page but if you have posted your PSN in the thread or sent me a PM you will make it on a team. I think the route I will go since we have such a large number of user is 2-3 teams of american/canadian region users, and the rest which I figure will be the majority for European users. Therefore we could get some good team competition as well.
Mixing up the teams with different skill levels might also be a good idea. If the team size is indeed 6, we could do a split on each team with skill level. Again thanks to all who have sent me the info, I'll do my best when formulating the teams and the league. Also I like GTwenty. is that the name we are going to be going with for the league?

This is a good idea Hurricane. Once we get the point system online working for the races all reviews like this will be sub threaded on the OP in the league thread. Like when the points are updated for the teams, the mini review will follow to give a breakdown on how the points were accumulated and what happened in the race.

Also I want to note if the number of users continue to grow teams may have to be bumped to 8 man teams.
